Oh my goodness! Thank you for remembering me ❤ I’m the elevator lady! It was my friend Tessa and I who were lost with you. My shop is fabric and handcrafts! Handcraft Happy Hour in Baltimore and I am currently working on securing a retail space. It was such a pleasure meeting you in person and what a great vlog recap of all of the fantastic things we saw and did. Thank you for sharing!!
Your little peak behind the curtain was interesting to listen to! As a consumer though, the idea of receiving 5 emails after an action seems a little much lol. That entirely depends on how you space them out, but receiving 5 emails from the same business within the span of a few days will only make me unsubscribe. I think that's definitely something that is different for each person and business though! Its very interesting to think about
You look adorable, Toni! And I would never have thought you to be an introvert (as I am). You hide it so well! Thanks for sharing this experience with us!
I hope whoever the yarn store opener is, she sees this video, and comments so that we can all get an update! Especially me if it's in Boston because I'm always wanting more local stores
I just opened a new yarn store in Weston MA, 😊 called The Unruly stitch and I met Toni at H+H, I Totally had a fan girl moment 😅. Toni I am an introvert too...❤
Hello, today I tried tunisian crochet for the first time. I went to a local fiber festival 2 weeks ago and picked up some beautiful wool in a mix of deep blue and orange, called midnight pumpkin. i have crocheted for years, and bought tunisian needles years ago, and finally, after watching all your videos on tunisian, jumped in with my precious wool. The hat turned out amazing! Thank you for all you do and for being a great teacher. I have been a fiber artist for many years and, in one afternoon, became obsessed with tunisian. I am used to working with size 10 thread, sz 1.5mm hook, and the 6,5mm hook seemed so big. But, what a joy. Thanks again and keep up the great work!
I loved your note about designing patterns. I have definitely been burned from buying a poorly written pattern from a new designer, so now I've resolved to learn more about designing (even though I don't ever want to put out a pattern myself) so that I can better know what to look for and how to tell if a pattern will meet my needs and expectations. It's frustrating that some people will offer patterns for sale without bothering to know the industry best practices. I'm glad you're planning something to start to tackle this issue!
I thoroughly enjoyed this vlog. I love crochet and knitting and am never without something on my hook or needles, even taking my wip on my commute to work. Thank you for giving a bit of an insight to how much work goes into running a business such as this. And I loved the first dress you wore.
The title 🤣🤣🤣 The events can be overwhelming, for sure! Especially for us introverts 🥵 So happy to finally meet you in person and we're honored you love our della Q Maker's Mesh Tote so much!! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Toni, so thrilled that you took us along with you virtually on this trip. I left Detroit severalyears ago & lived in Chi-town for a couple of years. My daughter (toddler at the time, veey grown now) suffered w chronic Respiratory problems & we ended up relocating to a suggested warmer climate (AL). I will always consider both the cities as home (strange?). 🤷🏾♀️ I hope to some day visit an event like H+H. They just always seem to be just out of reach. Love the share! ❤️
I just wanna say how much I loved your energy in both of the walk-ups (GIRL YOU ARE SO DAMN CUTE) and the rocking out during the bedtime routine. And yes. Connecting with biz people is so important. Totally agree that many designers starting out underestimate the importance of good tech editors, a style guide and testers to ensure their patterns are clear, understandable and as free as typos as possible.
Girl, I need to know what you were jammin' out to as you got ready for bed because you were SERIOUS about whatever you were singing and I love that, LOL! Good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone and really working the time you had :)
Thank you for sharing this experience. I'm a big introvert so I get the anxiety and exhaustion of meeting and dealing with new people. I am very proud of you for putting yourself out there in face to face conversation!! It's exhausting, but so rewarding. I also appreciate you sharing these trade shows and gatherings. You inspired me with one of your previous videos so I went out to a local Fiber Show and it was great! Thank you for being a teacher and helping to inspire others by just being you and taking chances.
What a great experience you had. I enjoyed your conversation with Irina. She is one of the best interviewers I have ever seen. I look forward to catching more of your content. I get that feeling of overload. I left an event early last fall because I was on emotional overload. So, good for you for embracing the challenge of stepping beyond your comfort. I think you will benefit from giving that gift to yourself. This was a fun visit.
Toni!! LOVED your behind the scenes of your trip, and especially your bedtime routine!! No wonder you’re so gorgeous!! Thanks for taking us along. Love your style so much. You totally have it going on. ❤
Pepper is so cute as always but small dogs especially when off leash can get run over by cars. Love seeing you interact with other fiber arts business-people!
Please always walk on leash. New dog owner, with no trained recal… that’s a bad situation for the dog and everyone around you. Dog gets attacked by another dog, hit by a car, run away… no one’s fault but your own.
I highly recommend attending these large conventions because of the learning experience and huge growth that occurs. For yrs I took teachers to national conventions. They were floored at how much they learned. Let’s face it, we all get into a routine and make do with what we have in our environments. It stagnates us, but we don’t notice until something like this occurs. Conventions are a sensory, brain, and complete body overload, but so worth the experience.
HEY MISS TONI FIRST YOU LOOK AMAZING IN THESE WARDROBE CHOICES ESPECIALLY THIS COLORFUL DRESS WITH YOUR GLASSES ON THANKS THIS WAS FUN TO TAG ALONG !! Well I guess this dress really is a winner since both of you have chosen to wear it this particular day lol still a very FRESH LOOK LOL ❤❤❤
I’ve been loving these vlogs lately! I’m not sure how much more work it is compared to tutorials, reviews and such, or if you feel like it changes your experience in the moment. But it’s greatly appreciated and hope we get to see more!
Omg, you are so inspiring. I watch your channel often but only comment periodically. I’ve got to really challenge and discipline myself to sit and focus on Tunisian crochet. I’m really wanting to learn that and brush up on my knitting also. Love this video. I bought the Prym crochet hooks after seeing your review a few years ago and has never regretted it. I reach for them quite often. Thx for that review.
First of all, thank you Toni, for inviting us with you on your trip. And i literally laughed out loud at minute marker 17:42 at whatever it was that you put in your mouth, the reaction was like you had wished you hadn't 😂😂😂. What was it? Inquiring minds want to know🤣 sending you hugs ❤❤
Toni - My hubby walked into the room and asked “Is that your TY yarny person? (he’s so adorable). And I said “Yup”. She’s like me, loves to roam and no have to worry about her hubby being bored. And mine said “You know ai always find something to do”. I said “I’d be fine until I got back to the room at night.”. I am so weird about that, I miss my honey and turtle too much. The reason for this note is that EXACTLY 1.2 secs after I said that, YOU came and said “I’m going home y’all, I miss my……”. It was at that moment I knew I had to write this. We love our yarn, our patterns, and our craft, HOWEVER, folks who are easily ‘over-peopled’, miss our family and home base far, far, more. Thank You for making the journey and even more, TAKING US ALONG!!!! Safe safe and See you again soon! 💖💖💃🏻💃🏽
What a great summary Toni!!! I was at the show with my friend Jenni who owns Handcraft Happy Hour and we met you in the elevator!! She’s in Baltimore so you got the B right!! It was a treat to meet you and yes the airport was crazy! I’m excited to see what you have coming up with your new business ideas and will be watching to see!
Loved this show and your spirit in it. Really, you are such a lovely lady. I picked up more than you might think with this spot on video! . ❤ keep it coming,please..
Your new puppy is super cute 🥰 Trust a Mastiff mama: you're in for a treat ❤❤❤ Your outfits for the fair were everything!!! Any chances you'll share that delightful black cardi you had on the first day? 😜 craft shows are great, but they're exhausting, especially for us introverts... take care

Oh wow! Taking this trip with you was everything. I especially love the Etimo crochet hooks but they are a bit pricey. The Makers bag is ❤…. Thanks for taking us along.
Being an introvert myself I understand everything you went thru. Push past some of your boundaries and knew when to call it quits. She happy you enjoyed yourself and learned so much. ❤
Test makers and a small thumbnail of how their work turned out is perfect for makers like me who might be a bit less confident. Looks like you had a great and exhausting time. :) I am looking forward to the new patterns...kinda impatiently but that's a me problem.
My LYS owner also went to this trade show! It was so fun to see all the cool fibers and project bags she sent pictures of to our group chat. You've shared a completey different side of the event - there's so much going on, it's amazing!
Wowza! You certainly peopled, networked, enjoyed the worthwhile seminars and met some of my favorites...Sara, Marley Bird and Tamara! Great reporting on your time there! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your experience at h+h! I've already reserved a booth for next year (cough, cough, wow, that's expensive!) and I can't wait to meet all the fiber artists who attend. If you're there, please stop by and say hi.
I love the global world. So thanks to you I now know there is a craft fair in Cologne every spring, a four hour train ride from where I am. I feel tempted…
This is such a fantastic video, Toni!! I felt like I was there with you! I'm going to be looking out for this trade show next year!! Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
Yeaaaah even more regrets for not making h+h a higher priority to attend. Thanks for sharing so I can better prepare next time. Also absolutely in love with your skincare routine.
O'Hare is its own little interesting place. I miss Stitches Midwest. My brother & I went a few years ago. I always wanted to go to another one but never had that weekend free. Glad to see something coming back to this area that is similar. Thank you for sharing your trip. Also because of you I started learning Tunisian crochet. Love it. Thank you.

Came for the yarn, stayed for the bathroom concert!!! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Ok around 23 mins, the new yarn . THOSE COLORS 😍😍😍
I happened to be washing my face too during the face-washing-jamming montage and it felt like we were at a sleepover or something! Lol 😂

What a fabulous trip. So many lovelies to see :)
Oh yess! It would be so great if there were easy access style guides for writing patterns!! I would compare it it there being APA, ALA etc. guides for doing citations and writing research papers.
This year I decided to make a Temperature/Weather Blanket for the Winter 2022 Season with the High & Low Daily Temp plus the type(s) and amounts of precipitation as a Queen sized afghan. I've never done anything like this ever. I typically find a premade pattern and customize the color(s) or sizes. I agree with in regard to buyers being hesitant with buying patterns, I’ve been stung in the past and it’s hard to commit to buying from a creator I’m unfamiliar with now! I would say I’m an advanced beginner, but still learning the ropes with following patterns and there have been times where it feels like information/steps are missing from the end of a row in some patterns and I get confused with what I’m supposed to do.

So fun. I wondered if you had mate, how sweet your space is & how he prbly gives you great support
This was delightful! Thank you for taking us along for the ride ❤
Really enjoyed this video. I am a crocheter that likes to try a variety of projects but get very discouraged when a pattern has errors, or even unclear instructions. I'm very interested in learning more about the role a tech tester plays.

Glad you stepped out of your comfort zone. Looks like it paid off. Looking forward to find out more details of your craft journey,
Really fun video👍
Thank you for the journey. You inspired me to reach out my local yarn shop to connect with people, share ideas, be supported and to support others.
Great video 👍 it’s time to go back and practice crocheting 🧶
O'Hare is its own little interesting place. I miss Stitches Midwest. My brother & I went a few years ago. I always wanted to go to another one but never had that weekend free. Glad to see something coming back to this area that is similar. Thank you for sharing your trip. Also because of you I started learning Tunisian crochet. Love it. Thank you.
