Is Ujjayi Working for You? | Infrasternal Angle | Tate Englund Yoga

  • Have you ever heard of infrasternal angle? After many years of practicing yoga, taking a lot of trainings, anatomy sessions, etc. I had never heard of it. Until I took a training outside of the yoga world, never once did it come into play.
    For a discipline that is all about the breath, I think it’s important that we start talking about infrasternal angle more in yoga and how we can use that information to make our breathing even more effective.
    Is Ujjayi really working for you? I’m not talking about the discussion on whether or not it affects your vocal cords, or what it does mentally. In this video I talk about it from a breathing, core and diaphragm point of view.
    Cues for more breathing efficiency:
    1️⃣ If you have a narrow infrasternal angle, keep fogging the mirror
    2️⃣ If you have a wide angle, blow out the birthday candles
    3️⃣ If you sit around 110 degrees, vary it. Blow the candles sometimes and other times fog the mirror
