the red ones look like rajasthani soldiers and the green ones look like mughals
Makes sense 🤔 but red should have more be like orange I believe
Hi dude, do you have a store or anything?
How its board look like
You make these yourself?? These are BEAUTIFUL and so colorful! I cannot afford these, though. It's funny that you are making Indian-style chess sets, and I live in India!
Thanks for your message -- no, these really are made in India. I get them from a craft studio in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. I do make some sets myself -- but not this beautiful traditional work
AncientChess thanks a lot for telling from where you got it, now I might be able to afford it as there will be no import/export/custom charges etc
What's the cost of it?
I want to buy a
red is maratha and green is mhughal
Exactly the design I was looking for, in war field a woman, a castle/pillar or a bishop fighting is just so unnatural & stupid 🤦🏻♂️
These are the exact comprehensive pieces which should be present in war
Though the pieces aren’t exactly what I wanted, I mean characters are perfect but figures aren’t
I would like these characters in spartan figures
But still better than general pieces (European style chessmen)
Though I can’t afford it from you but from Rajasthan I might, as I am from south India
Thank you for telling us from where you got this ☺️😇
Yes, since you are in India, you can probably find some very good possibilities at good prices! Most of the wooden chessmen of the world are made in India -- and I am sure you will find sets to your liking.
Indeed, it is peculiar. When chess came to Europe, the Europeans had no idea what to make of the abstract shapes, so they gave them more the characters of the royal court than the fighters on a battlefield. But this is one of the beauties of chess in history: every land that the game spread to adapted it to fit their own cultural preferences. This little divergence is just the tip of the iceberg
@@AncientChess True, even bishops are on battlefield/chess board because in past bishops from churches use to be in battlefield as churches had a significant impact on politics and royal affairs, until the concept of secularism kicks in
@@RaeesUnboxingwala ... but it was only in England (and maybe a couple of Scandinavian countries) that the piece became known as a bishop. It was an ensign in Italy, a fool in France, an archer in ancient Germany, a runner in most northern European countries, also an old man, a judge ... there is still no consensus in Europe. It is known as all these different things -- but plays the same on the chessboard.
@@AncientChess ya 😄 that's what I was saying, they adopted it according to their forces
But the most perfect army which I feel is this which is shown in the video
or rajput and mhughal
