Not a 'fast' car, but I wouldn't call it slow either... It hits that sweet spot of 'quick enough' to feel fun. The engine noise helps a LOT with the emotional feeling of the car. Get a cold air intake, and most definetly get Hondata FlashPro... That is an absolutely required upgrade to wake up this car... (Even with no mods) No more rev hang, and no more throttle lag...And some gains to be had in the mid range with even the base maps that come with the FlashPro. WELL worth the price in my opinion.
this car will last you a very very long time. My 2010 fg2 has 175000k and has been wrecked 4 or 5 times only body damage. It runs amazing, ac blows ice cold everything works. No weird grinds or shifts in trans. You cant kill these things. I do not recommend exhaust if you are on the interstate a lot. that drone at 80 mph in the left lane at 3000rpm is annoying as hell. nice whip. thanks for the vids.

Speed Academy fans unite! I love my FG2, just very sad that my rear quarter panels are developing the typical rust that these cars commonly get. Tough having a Canadian car.
Sorry for the crappy video quality at the start, I'm doing some experimentation before doing more and more driving videos of other people's cars. I think next POV video will be great in terms of audio/video quality (or at least to me lol)

get a intake first for sure so much better than exhaust at least for the first mod and engine noise on the SI with an intake sounds so good

If you really wanna be OEM+ I'd switch the wheels for later si wheels or type r wheels, and maybe get some cool JDM oem stuff like headlights or tails or whatever they made. Still kinda tuner with the konigs.

I'm surprised to see that you found the full race exhaust too drony. I recently installed skunk2 headers + full race exhaust on my si and I find it very quiet😅
Yeah I almost wonder if a skunk2 header would help. Maybe it moves the sound a bit more high up and cancel out drone
Nice car. I got lucky. Back in 2019 and found an 09 stock FA5 in white with only 49k miles. I think the stock look is awesome. If u r looking for a quiet exhaust, i have a magnaflow cat back system and no drone what so ever. I also have a takeda cai with an adapted S2000 oem air filter. Its a quite intake until wot. I dont race or anything. I just like the way the car drives. And u r correct. It is not fast but it is very fun to drive. I also put some 18 inch HFP wheels.

Hey patty! So I have an 08 fa5 and I when I put my enkeis on from the stock wheels I moved the Tpms sensors to the Enkeis and it works out perfectly all you need is an 11mm socket and break the bead lose to change it. Don’t forget to move the crush washer over or it won’t seal properly
Yeah I thought I would use these wheels for multiple cars (over different brands) so I ended up not installing them and just saving some money

Get Invidia q300 exhaust and plm header. I have it on my si and my experience with it is that it's really quiet until 4K rpm and very nice sound 👌

8th gen si way more fun on a qtr tank vs a full tank mine never goes above half ha

im on the hunt for an 8th gen si. Man its real tough. Especially in in long island ny. Most of em are clapped out which hurts to see, not only that I've only stumbled across 2 mint ones only for both of em to get snatched up before I can even go check it out. Im loosing hope and considering going for a 9th gen since they're easier to find and better creature comforts... but I've wanted an 8th gen si since highschool I don't wanna back down on what I've wanted for so long...
I was literally in the same situation if you get a 9th gen I promise you you won’t be disappointed
It is really tough looking for any car right now, especially enthusiast cars. It sucked but it's just a waiting game, I was looking on and off for years. I wish you the best of luck, I got mine on Bringatrailer and it seems like they've got some mint ones every once and awhile for okay prices!

Stock! Upgraded engine mounts help make it have a sort of fake exhaust noise with the added vibrations
How does it compare to your GTIs
This car pulls a little harder at the top end but can't even get close to the same feeling of torque the GTI'S have. Handling feels about the same
