    "beat up / abuse a car over and over again and nothing will happen" is a crock of sh*t. Even a reliable car like a Honda will still suffer issues. Any car.

  • @mrgrinch4302
    @mrgrinch4302 5 років тому +65

    I like what you say at 5:50. Having a reliable car gives you that peace of mind every time you slam the gas or take corners, it's like having a psychological edge. If you're worried about your car reliability every time you push you have the worry in the back of your mind which makes it not as fun.

      I believe it is the best modern Vtec platform you can buy. What makes it unique is it's very high revving engine... something they would take away for gen 9. You can argue that some of the previous older gens are more fun, but if you're looking for more safety, better features, and overall fun factor. Gen 8 is the best in my opinion.

      @@MikeKollin Yep. Funny enough I actually had a Honda Del Sol a couple years back! I loved it. I would DEFINITELY recommend holding onto that thing for ever. The value around the world has been shooting up. My guess is that they become a JDM collectable in the next decade.

      I am now looking into buying a B16A2 Engine for my Del Sol Now!! It originally was my Ex girlfriends car. I didn't like it at all when she first bought it, for years... then she traded this car for my Honda Prelude and took over payments... It took me about a year to really fall in Love with it.,.. it was the first car I ever worked on. Gave it a tune up, cleaned parts, changed parts etc. I really started getting into it through youtube Video's once I changed a few things, put new air filter, plugs, wires, PCV Valve, cleaned the air sensor and a few other small things, the thing really started sounding great and had more pep than it ever had! From that point on I was hooked!! 🐹😊

      @FutureDeltaPilot747 4 роки тому

      liang liam i've own an 8th gen civic sedan and now the coupe. Havent owned a 9th gen but have been in one and can tell you that the 8th gen is the last true Civic. The 9th gen has a K20 while the 9th gen has a K24. The K24 has a few fingers more HP than the K20 and more torque which means VTEC is not as dramatic as the K20. If you want a simple car and raw driving experience get the 8th gen. If you want a nice interior with tech and safety features then get the 9th gen.

    And btw my first experience with vtec was a 06 tsx I was going down the road and decided to punch it and at first I was like damn that’s all it’s got than all of a sudden it got louder and a burst of speed lol I actually thought something was wrong with the car lol until I realized nothing was wrong it just has to be in the high revs but it’s very fun

    I have an 07 lx may not be an si to be honest never been into Honda’s besides reliability for a DD. I can say my 07 has it since 2010 started at 55k now has almost 311k. I wouldn’t mind getting an SI I like the sedan better on the tail end but wouldn’t mind a coupe. good in depth review of the SI. Keep up the good work

    • @robdog9265
      @robdog9265  5 років тому +2

      311k miles?! And yes they are also an excellent car. The sedan Si is a lot more practical, so I’d honestly recommend them over the Coupe. Thanks man!

    • @321matt
      @321matt 5 років тому

      Rob Cameron - Car Vlogs you’re welcome anytime yep 311k miles on my little R18 it’s a nice little daily. I do keep pretty good care of it despite hitting a few deer. I actually found your channel in recommended when you were talking about your wrx and is it a reliable car a while back. I agree the sedans are more practical. I just like the tail end a little better though. Can’t wait to see what is next for your cats I hope your holidays and Christmas (if you celebrate) is good

    Picked one up tody, 07 with 84k miles on it. I owned 10th gen si as well. Can't really compare the Vtech to 10th gen anymore. To be honest, best SI's are 10th gen hands down. But the sound of an 8th gen is so fuckin' sexy even if it's stock. I love both cars!!!

      Thoughts on why you prefer the 10th vs 8th gen? I was considering both until I found a 10th gen for a deal, never got to try the 8th.

    Nice video, I always wanted a 8th gen si and I finally saved enough to get one and went to a dealership nearby that had one but it is WAY too small in there for me, me head was literally touching the roof, I didn’t buy it unfortunately just for that alone might go get a s2k instead

    • @robdog9265
      @robdog9265  5 років тому

      The s2k is a dream car to me! If you could make it work, it is definitely worth it. Extremely fun to drive, quicker than an Si, RWD, great aftermarket, cheap on gas, amazing on a track, I can go on and on. Helps that they also hold their value, if Honda doesn't make another one, I feel like they may go up in price in the future.
