This is why I have a fear of bridges and parking garages
and elevators lol
Yep. No parking garages for me.

SO SORRY. Yes, do NOT abandon these families. Rest in peace.
Thank you for respectfully shining a light on these men.
Man. The way these men died looked so scary. It saddens me so. The ground falling under them, hitting the ground or water hard. The heavy debris likely crushing them. Even if they survived the initial fall, the cars they were in would soon be submerged by the water. If they weren't unconscious or too injured to push the door open, they'd only to be greeted by cold water where help would be hours from arriving. They didn't deserve this.
😢😢😢😢😢😢
All at night I’m the dark.
😂
Why did you feel the need to give that narrative?
@@22lyric
why not?
Are u so sensitive of reality?
Man, this is terrible! You never know when a freak accident is going to happen.
Some are saying it was no accident.
I am reading the same the boat had an accident before but I wonder if with the same captain.
Why weren't these construction workers notified of the ship's Mayday warning? The police stopped all traffic from accessing the bridge, after the ship radioed in a Mayday warning, and traffic was quickly cleared from the bridge. Why were these workers not told to exit the bridge? They had plenty of time to do so, after the Mayday warning.
I agree. But if you listen to audio of dispatch between police. There was no rush/urgency to notify. I think it was believed that this was not going to cause the bridge to collapse.
I don't think anybody had time did they. You can see the whole thing play out in a minute or two.
Between the mayday and the collapse was 2 minutes. PD closed the bridge far from the center of the collapse. If you watch the video of the collapse, you see traffic going along and just over a minute later, no traffic. Just the workers already parked on the center of the bridge
I think it's possible that some safety protocol negligence was going on just because this never happens, understandably. The day to day had people's guard down. I would hope now that communications will be more strict.
They were notified. Not only was there not enough time for them to get into their vehicles to move out of harm's way, but most obviously, if anyone on the ground during the moments of complete structural collapses could ever foresee the imminent tragedy, no one would ever die any time this occurs.
To avoid this in the future could mayday lights be installed to tell people to get off the bridge? Or the close as a boat is coming underneath?
so...signs that people won't read or know what to do?
yeah some type of warning system like sirens or loud speakers saying to evacuate the bridge immediately
@@catsforhire9116 that probably won't be as effective as you think it would
prayers for the families. So so sad.
May their souls RIEP! Condolences 💐 to all the families.
They left to work and never came back home. So sad.
These men were out there doing their job and working hard. Prayers to their families.
May they RIP. Condolences to family and friends.
You never know when your life is about to end and in this case under unusual circumstances. These men went to work thinking it's just another day, but death came a calling.
We all are going to die but how? we aren’t sure 👍 some lucky people pass in their sleep while others suffer so much in the process 😢 luck exists.
that’s why it’s important to live.
Dios le de fortaleza a todas las familias que perdieron a un ser querido🙏
Thank you for doing your jobs for your family and community. Unsung heroes. May God be with you and your loved ones.
Condolences to all who loved these men
This just breaks my heart you know you wake up and you go to work thinking it’s gonna be a typical day but not this type of devastation. May the Lord cover all these families and they restitution come swiftly
This officially pisses me OFF!!! Find those men like yall searched for that millionaire sub! Why weren't they warned? Why did this happen??? This is unfortunate and irresponsible asf! I better NOT find out yall stop looking due to their race! Pay and support those men's familys and name the NEXT something that memorializes them. Then 6 last month...sounds ritualistic. Do better Maryland!!!!
If it weren't for the cops the casualty count would of been a lot higher. And do you know how difficult it is to find bodies if they are trapped under that amount of rubble? And assuming the bodies hadn't already been washed away by the rivers currents.
It’s extremely dangerous, imagine searching through the twin towers rubble, but in freezing water that’s moving with currents. I’m amazed they found the red pickup truck. I think they have to be very careful so no one else dies. It’s going to take some serious equipment to remove the debris, once they start doing that hopefully they will find the others. It is frustrating but for a recovery it’s a nightmare situation.
I feel very sorry for those great workers who are working in very risky jobs. The probability of dying in these risky job is very high. But life requires scarf ices to survive.
Rest In Peace
I am so sorry for this!! So sorry that these hard working men had to lose their lives in such a tragic way. I am still thankful to God for the mayday and warnings that went out to save the other drivers, but I just wished these precious men were reached as well!!
You should be thankful for the person who put out the mayday - it wasn't a god. Also, why didn't your god save these people? Allegedly he's all-powerful and in the times of the bible he did interfere constantly.
@@MrGrumpyGills You don't tell me who to thank, sir! Just because you don't believe in the ONE and ONLY true God doesn't mean He doesn't exist and I will always thank Him. He didn't cause this accident and He may not always intervene, but for the simple fact more lives could have been lost, I thank my God. You are going to wish you thanked and knew God if you leave this world without Him. It is not too late. He loves you very much!
John 3:16-19 kjv
16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
This is heartbreaking ❤
Rest In Peace ❤
May Lord please look over their families members and children
Maybe we should remember to build protective bridge piers
NO EVACUATION ALARM? TRAFFIC WAS HALTED BUT NO TIME TO ALERT WORKERS?
Or the workers hadn’t enough time to get off? They were at the middle and the ones who did got off were close to the end it happened too quickly 😢
@@user-pt4xx4wu2ipeople crossed from the complete opposite end of the bridge at the last minute. There was time to move the workers in the center.
There wasn't time, you can even see the last car cross the bridge seconds before the ship hit it.
Devastating. My sincerest condolences to the families 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The men who helped built America
They were maintaining , not building.
Drugs are bad for you.
Yeah... They built mounds within potholes. How will their work ever be replicated?
Thank God (ours) that we are able to import men with such valuable skills. If only our school systems were stronger, Baltimore might be able to churn out our own black top engineers domestically.
@@ICDUMPEPL 😂😂😂
Sad note. I’m surprised that they didn’t say that they were asylum seekers and doing the work Americans don’t want to do
Most Mexican and Central Americans are not asylum seekers but illegally cross for a better life.
That has been said on other platforms.
My question?
Why isn't there a law requiring that all warnings be conveyed simultaneously in every language that exists?
I know that being able to hear one's own language from amidst such a warning might be tough at first, but eventually, I'm sure that some descendant of George Washington Carver could be given credit for coming up with a language isolator program that would allow everyone to set a 100%-manufactured-from-peanut-shells walkie talkie to his own language, so that we might all have an equal opportunity to survive any deadly situation.
I mean.. Come on! Diversity is supposed to equal strength, which is why, by the way, I've already invented and patented the world's strongest bicycle chain, one that is comprised completely of different sized links. Sure, trying to come up with chainrings and a cassette that will work with such a chain is a tall order, but I have no doubt that we'll get 'er done eventually!
Who knows? It might even be some non-aborted Latino kid whose parents snuck him into this country from south of the border in his mommy's tummy who will wind up solving the engineering problem that no Americans seem to want to help me with. Yeah.. I ended that sentence with a preposition, but who cares about the English langage when Merriam-Webster has already thrown in the towel, and when there is so much more to do?
These guys didn't come with the "asylum" seekers, they came long before.
Horrifying death. RIP
Lawsuit gonna be huge
It will take four or five years before they get any money. The lawyers will get at least 50%.
How many poor immigrants you know who can get the attention of an American attorney to sue a foreign company which can allege it was all an accident?
@@MariaMartinez-researcher aren't we all human ?
@@MariaMartinez-researcherIf he was legal, there should be no problem.

Baltimore construction workers need hazardous pay
Why weren't they warned?
How?
How would you of warned them? By phone? By radio? Do police carry construction vehicles phone numbers? I wish they could have been warned . I just don't know how it would of been possible. There wasn't time. It was a miracle they were able to stop traffic at the entrances.🕯️
90 seconds. The police was about drive across the span to warned them but it was too late when the ship hit the bridge.
Had same question initially and now speculate they were but too late. Seems only LT 5m from initial alert (ship disabled, close highway) to impact. That alert had to be separately conveyed to construction crew (slight delay). Video shows crew vehicles start-up (lights on when previously dark) but at that moment bridge collapsed.
Key question is why wasn’t such an essential 50yo bridge retrofitted to today’s construction standards by simply placing barrier islands at base of vertical supports so any wayward ship would run aground? The daily loss in commerce & wages ($8M) is many times the preventative project cost…. not to mention the $1-2B bridge replacement cost.
NTSB should make changes when vessels and / or boats experience problems a radius amount of distance to sound the alarm, and bridges have red lights flashing to warn vehicles that there's an imminent impact ahead. Immediately when the boat motor had shut off, it should have sounded the alarm. This vessel also shouldn't have left the port knowing that prior, they were having difficulty when they confirmed a lady who said that the pier kept getting their electric cut off when they struggled to get it running many times. At this point, why would you think you'll be fine and not think it wouldn't shut off down miles away and be stuck.
Sincere Condolences to the families😭😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The city should be taking care of the families but if they were contractors they may have had no benefits. The city should take care of them regardless.
They were illegals, so no.
This is heartbreaking god bless those wonderful hard working men and their families!
So sad may the remaining workers be found I am so sorry they had to go in a such a tragic way
So sad. May their families and loved ones feel pride in their lives and find comfort to deal with their passing.
God Bless their families and grant them the Peace and strength needed during this time
Condolences.
My heart goes out to the families impacted by the recent tragic event. Losing loved ones in such a devastating way is unimaginable. I pray the children left behind can find peace and healing, though the road ahead will be difficult. In times of tragedy, we need to come together with compassion rather than judgment. While passionate beliefs are understandable, this is a moment to mourn those who lost their life and support the grieving families, not cast insensitive aspersions, but for now, focusing on the humanity we all share seems most appropriate. Those who died were individuals whose lives mattered deeply to those who loved them.

There was enough time to block both ends of the bridge but no time to radio to the men on it? Guess the city didn't care enough.
So the city/state hired non-citizens over Americans?

So sad! ❤
Soon as I heard my mind went back to the lost sub and the pain of waiting and hoping for the best. In some ways I am glad some families have closure, but sad for those who don't. To the men I know they were afraid and pray they didnt suffer. Can't imagine such a nightmare coming unexpectedly. Especially of this magnitude. Not very familiar with this bridge or city but also hope those who needed this bridge daily will have alternative ways to get around.
Seeing the bridge fall made me imagine the nation in general. It looks strong but very vulnerable.
May God comfort all of the bereaved families and encourage those who must find an alternate route during the cleanup and bridge reconstruction phase. What a solemn reminder of how important it is to live each day to it's fullest. I thank God for search and rescue workers and pray for their physical, mental and emotional well being.

Why mention where they were originally from??? But fail to mention how they were here working on American soil, on a structure for American people to drive across… and died in America… say all that
Well when something really bad happens.. media and politicians, remind us, from where people came, and if they are here, documented or undocumented.
Just ask Fox news or the Republican party or Trump, by any instance!
I don't think mentioning that is necessary. We all know that the bridge collapsed in Baltimore. They mention where they are from so that the news can reach further and their families find out what happened at some point.
Maybe to show how important immigrants are to our country.
Maybe to you it doesn’t matter, but to the families and to the immigrants communities of the area it does.
