hey just wanted to drop a comment appreciating all your videos tht have actually helped me with my examn , now im a first year resident in oral pathology and surgery and was just wondering abt the sources of the prevalence of MRONJ , since my conferences seem to be a bit outdated , so for my test i wanted to cite the exact article in which those percentages were published .thank u soo much
Sir , please can you upload a veido on bench test preparation too....what they look for and what we should practice most, it's quite nerve-wracking as a forigner
Before starting bisphosphonates treatmmt teeth indicated for extraction is 1) sharp tooth, 2) gr 2 mobile tooth 3) purulent tooth 4) deep poccket tooth.
Thank you so much for making this amazing video! Can I ask you one question? How long we should do extraction of non-restorable or questionable teeth for patients before they have bisphosphate treatment? Is that 3 weeks or 6 weeks or more? Thank you so so much if you can help me with this. Wish the best to you.
Thanks for your videos, I love them! I just wonder if you may clarify for me if there is a general timing rule to proceed with an extraction, for example to wait 6 months/ 1 year/etc?! after finishing biphosphonates treatment, or will it depend completely on the specific drug? Thank you!
You can get them one of two ways. You can either sign up on my Patreon page for at least $10/month www.patreon.com/mentaldental or send $30 to me directly via PayPal for the NBDE Part II slides only, $15 for the INBDE slides only (or $40 for both) www.paypal.me/mentaldental
this was the most thorough explanation of this topic i have ever seen, thank you. when you said that we should provide antibiotic coverage during the extraction and healing period, this means providing antibiotic prophylaxis for example one hour before the appointment? also please doctor what should be the regimen of antibiotic for the extraction and for the healing? thank you so much!!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! And it is not "antibiotic prophylaxis" in the traditional sense. You would prescribe a full course of antibiotics for them to take so they are covered for the extraction and the healing period thereafter (at least one week). You could use Amoxicillin 500mg as an example.
Xgeva (chemical name: denosumab) can also cause osteonecrosis of the jaw. Xgeva is used to reduce bone complications and bone pain caused by advanced-stage breast cancer that has spread to the bone. Symptoms of osteonecrosis of the jaw include: pain, swelling, redness, or other signs of infection in the gums.
Hey Dr Ryan… thanks for your lovely lecture… just one question mosby says drug holiday is if someone is taking drug for 3 yrs, but you said 5 years… can u suggest the accurate ans for this?
Hydroxyapatite Inhibits Bisphosphonate Toxicity to the Oral Mucosa - extraction sites are to be packed with hydroxyapatite - mouthwashes containing hydroxyapatite are used daily - removal of bisphosphonates from bone using chelation
found out two days ago my sister has this stuff - from chemo treatments or something and tells me there is no cure? - I do research based on calcium hydroxyapatite battling the drug poisoning and I was right - these toxins bond to calcium hydroxyapatite - a mouthwash containing it would remove the toxins from the flesh allowing faster healing
