They would rather blame the death of innocent motorists on the criminal as opposed to have the heat come down on the PD if the PIT didn't go as planned. Simple as that.
@@DroneStrike1776 The entire point of having someone at the station make these calls is because it's a lot lower stress when you're just listening to a radio. The guys in the field constantly make stupid decisions because they're in hunt mode and all they smell is blood, so those decisions get pushed up the chain to someone else who's not in the thick of it. The call was pretty typical and had nothing to do with the sex of the person involved. Even if there was some good evidence to support the notion that girls can't make high-stress decisions as well as dudes, it wouldn't apply in this low-stress situation where it's pretty well preordained by regs. In retrospect, it would have been better to PIT early, but the supervisor didn't necessarily know how things were going to go down at that point. I did see a couple other places where a PIT would probably have been safe enough, but the supervisor can't be sure in time to okay it in the moment, and the entire point of supervisor approval is that we don't always trust the guys in the chase to make that call in the fog of war. The worst decision here is forcing a pursuit instead of getting a helicopter out to follow them at a more leisurely pace. But even that's hard to be too upset by, given the circumstances of the stop. And I have no idea what the status of their helicopter was.
That first officer was a ROCKSTAR ! ! ! ! ! This was fun to watch but I have a sore throat now yelling at all the idiots that just froze up and didn't get out of the way!🤣🤣🤣 Great great video!
The only question I have is how in the hell was this pursuit allowed to go this far? There was a perfect clean and clear pit opportunity that if taken, would have prevented many vehicles being damaged and many opportunities to end tragically. I understand each state has different protocols but this could have been ended as soon as suspect vehicle did a u-turn.
Supervisor feared more backlash if the suspect was inured than innocent bystander or 3rd party. There should be specific pit rules, especially with regard to speed
Gotta give props: the perp can drive, but that 1st officer earned his Fast & Furious badge. 2nd officer did well in keeping up. Whoever said no to pitting needs a desk job. Throw the perps' sorry @sses in prison. The others will be held accountable. Great video, that 30 minutes flew by - literally.
Supervisors ass should have stopped this pursuit 28 minutes ago & not put 10000 people’s lives in danger. 3 in that car should have been pitted & taken to the hospital & then to jail. That’s the supervisors fault they escaped.
They asked and were denied 3 times, then given permission once but it became immediately unsafe so the FHP Officer didn't. What we sometimes see as an opportunity to do the P.I.T. isn't actually a safe time. Cars close behind, not going to turn them and have them come off the barrier sitting sideways in front of civilians, homes or businesses the turned maggot could hit, open medians they could cross into oncoming traffic. FHP does the P.I.T often, but have to request permission, unlike ASP Officers which seem to have fulltime permission at their discretion to do so. They got the driving maggot, they'll get the others when he rolls on them or someone in their inter-circle rolls on them.

@@angels1four1 You're right, but what I'm saying is that I think it was an officer asking his supervisor for permission not a trooper asking for permission. FHP doesn't need authorization from any county supervisor to PIT someone. We somewhat recently changed our policy to give our deputies permission to immediately PIT as soon as it gets started. In fact it's more of a directive. If we can't end it quickly, we're gonna call it off all together. A wild half hour chase just isn't worth it for 90% of suspects.

“ *Superb driving by the troopers. *” Sorry for this very long diarrhea post. Agreed: There were very considerable *physical driving* skills displayed here . . . But there were, also, significant *errors in decision-making* by these officers: As you have insightfully pointed out, there were, clearly, opportunities-SAFE opportunities-to execute a PIT maneuver, but the officers came up short (There was at least 1 instance involving 2 different officers whose vehicles were physically close (and were not near other vehicles or heavy traffic) . . . And, actually, these police officers, themselves, then continued to put the public in as much danger as this crim driver did. What I find completely ironic about this situation is that the very officers who thought that it was not safe to attempt a PIT maneuver continued to put the driving public at incredible danger-through their own irresponsible police-officer actions. NOTE: - In this chase, we have already seen at least 1 helicopter directly over one of the officers. - And even if, by the time that we see this helicopter, it was on its way to some already-identified event or emergency, by the time that we see it here, the chase had already been going on for way long enough to request another helicopter. It takes only 2-10 minutes for a helicopter to become airborne. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - And, of course, although all of us here know what an incredible asshole this crim driver was and is, I must give credit where credit is due: For as often as this pathetic crim driver found himself in traffic jams and situations that appeared to be almost impossible to extricate himself from, he really did drive quite “well.” Don’t hate me, but what I mean by “well” is that, for a substantial part of this chase, this crim really did not deliver significant damage to any other vehicle on the road, and there was only minor damage to his car-Yes, he did scrape a large number of vehicles, because he sometimes found himself wedged 3-abreast in a 2-lane-wide space, but no vehicle was incapacitated by his insane actions, and no other driver was physically injured. I am not talking about the emotional horror of what he inflicted on the driving public . . . I am talking only of his physical response to traffic conditions. And although I think that he should serve at least 30 years in prison-so that he can sit and think of all the thousands of people that he put at risk for his lunacy-there is no doubt in my mind that there are very, very few other drivers who could have driven as “skillfully” as he did-in this particular very difficult situation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In all of my 70 years on the planet, I have almost never seen a car-chase in any commercial film that approaches what is shown in this real-life account. The only film in which the car chase is truly exciting and seemingly realistic is “To Live And Die In LA.” However, it is *not possible* to truly have a totally convincing car chase in a commercial film because such filmed chases are completely and totally choreographed-It can be no other way. . . . And, as we have seen in this chase-and in every real chase-life is not choreographed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To me, there was really no legitimate reason for executing this chase by ground vehicles: - At one point, we can clearly see a helicopter directly overhead, and it is in the process of turning back to this particular chase. - However, we do not know whether or not it is even a law-enforcement helicopter. if this particular helicopter were a law-enforcement helicopter that was already requested to travel to some other event or emergency, by the time that we see the helicopter here, the chase had already been going on for plenty of time to enable law-enforcement authorities to call in another helicopter. - To me, the chase that would make the most sense would be this scenario: - 1 law-enforcement helicopter and whatever number of chasing law-enforcement ground vehicles have so far joined the festivities. - All chasing law-enforcement ground vehicles drop off in speed. - All chasing law-enforcement ground vehicles then completely drop off from the chase. - The pathetic crim-believing that there are now no longer any chasing law-enforcement *ground* vehicles behind him-then decreases his speed, fitting in perfectly with the existing-traffic flow. - The law-enforcement helicopter simply continues to follow this crim right up to near his front door-which is exactly what happened here-but without the horror and craziness that those very law-enforcement ground vehicles were bent on stirring up. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Please pass the TP. “¿Can you spare a square?”

They would rather blame the death of innocent motorists on the criminal as opposed to have the heat come down on the PD if the PIT didn't go as planned. Simple as that.
Supervisor was a chick. What did you expect? They make poor judgement calls in high stress situations.

@K AMB so why is the supervisor who can't see the action involved in making that decision? Their training should be what is guiding them!

FHP does the P.I.T often, but have to request permission, unlike ASP Officers which seem to have fulltime permission at their discretion to do so.

Sorry for this very long diarrhea post.
NOTE:
- In this chase, we have already seen at least 1 helicopter directly over one of the officers.
- And even if, by the time that we see this helicopter, it was on its way to some already-identified event or emergency, by the time that we see it here, the chase had already been going on for way long enough to request another helicopter. It takes only 2-10 minutes for a helicopter to become airborne.

And, of course, although all of us here know what an incredible asshole this crim driver was and is, I must give credit where credit is due:
For as often as this pathetic crim driver found himself in traffic jams and situations that appeared to be almost impossible to extricate himself from, he really did drive quite “well.” Don’t hate me, but what I mean by “well” is that, for a substantial part of this chase, this crim really did not deliver significant damage to any other vehicle on the road, and there was only minor damage to his car-Yes, he did scrape a large number of vehicles, because he sometimes found himself wedged 3-abreast in a 2-lane-wide space, but no vehicle was incapacitated by his insane actions, and no other driver was physically injured.

In all of my 70 years on the planet, I have almost never seen a car-chase in any commercial film that approaches what is shown in this real-life account. The only film in which the car chase is truly exciting and seemingly realistic is “To Live And Die In LA.”
However, it is *not possible* to truly have a totally convincing car chase in a commercial film because such filmed chases are completely and totally choreographed-It can be no other way. . . . And, as we have seen in this chase-and in every real chase-life is not choreographed.

To me, there was really no legitimate reason for executing this chase by ground vehicles:
- At one point, we can clearly see a helicopter directly overhead, and it is in the process of turning back to this particular chase.
- To me, the chase that would make the most sense would be this scenario:
- 1 law-enforcement helicopter and whatever number of chasing law-enforcement ground vehicles have so far joined the festivities.

@@The_North0 too many times a PIT maneuver ends with injuries of both law enforcement and the perp .. even death.. which outweighs the punishment of the crime ...crippling injuries and death results in law suits ...paid by the taxpayers
The officer asked for permission several times and got denied. You can imagine his level of frustration...
@@realulli there is no frustrations. The officer is getting paid to do the job. If there is frustration the officer needs to find a new line of work.
A high-speed chase that’s as thrilling as a rollercoaster ride-Miami to Broward’s wildest pursuit!
10:49 I got so much second-hand aggravation form the guy not moving over
Yeah he was blocking for sure
Yeah, same here - the Florida Lic IOG W88 Ford? Probably texting.
He should be called to the police and charged.
How you know its a guy?😉
Hell, he thought he was getting pulled over and hiding stuff! 🤣
The drivers in these pursuits must have nerves of steel. My heart would be in my throat every second. Anything could go wrong at any moment. Hats off to the Staties who do this daily.
honda driver did very well. gets an A +. nascar is hiring.
Drugs calm the sensors!
Wow, that was the most extraordinary chase I’ve ever seen on UA-cam! What incredible driving, thank goodness most of the drivers of the other cars had their wits about them. Inches to spare on either side of the cars. Whew.
The expertise officers need for these pursuits is on another level, they must be exhausted when the adrenaline wears off
Seriously impressed at that Civic's handling with so much front end damage and only three inflated tires.
Accord
@@MrCharlieTurbo its civic
@@zuzu.hallak And not even the Type R.
@@MrMJmusicLover it’s probably tuned
Not even turbo - probably a 2.0 155 hp.
I'm amazed at just how many drivers can't figure out how to get out of the way of the squad car.
Today's cars are very adept at blocking outside noise. Plus the radio is probably on, and maybe cranked up a bit. Maybe they're on the phone and not paying attention to the traffic around them. Too much distracted driving these days. Few people actually pay attention while they're driving.
Everyone was on their phone.
Hard to work out how to work out how to avoid a psycho in a cop car...
Fight, flight, or freeze? Maybe
I live in Miami dade, the most mindless and distracted drivers on planet earth are here. I drive for a living, over 90% of drivers have their phones in their hands at all times.
Florida announced 3 days ago that any driver not moving over for emergency vehicles will be cited- zero tolerance
Good idea. But which way should they move? Those officers were passing vehicles on the left and right and expecting drivers to move left when I'm sure the law will say move right.
@@paulswarthout9967 Florida just like many other states has a problem with left lane loitering drivers. Some are driving the same speed as the trucks in the right lane. Not only do these drivers get in the way of FHP going code, they hinder normal traffic conditions as well. IMO
@@zzzaccounting5924 Couldn't agree with you more. Drivers should be educated that the left lane is for passing and if people have to be passing you on the right you have no business in the left lane! It caused many frustration and accidents
Politicians jumping up and down. It's not that simple. Paul S. has it right. Criminals in these cars are going 100+ mph. They're all over all the lanes, not just the left. People have little time to react. And everybody's reaction times are different. Old people and women react slower than people who process things faster.
Good handle. Are you an accountant?
When the pursuit’s this wild, even the traffic needs a moment to catch its breath!
❤. Thankfully no serious injuries to civilians. Stay safe out there protecting the public!
I live in Austraiia and I love watching the American Police in their car chases with their driving skills and especially the pit manoeuvres.
Y’all sure do have a lot of extra letters in maneuver😂 just picking, hello from US!
Max Rockatansky would have stopped him in 5 minutes. He's probably be dead though.
@@kylecherry3156 It is probably the spelling that is recommended in the Oxford Dictionary. John Cleese from "Monty Python's Flying Circus" has commented on the differences between Webster's Dictionary and the Oxford Dictionary.
Insane that that was allowed to continue for so long
Ob years youd have finished if quick,,,superman..idiot
it is .. they should've stopped him at 5:02-5:07 after that they couldn't do anything but keep chasing him with all the traffic around
Certain states have call-off pursuit criterias. Arkansas is another state with this scenario but with Arkansas, they have a criteria to call it off immediately and theyll eventually get their man.
@@CCM1199 Arkansas will chase you down at speeds in excess of 120mph and pit you into a wall. Don't mess with ASP or you'll regret it...
Wow.. that would give anybody a big adrenaline rush. Looking at that was scary as h--- but i couldn't stop watching . That was some dangerous driving. It was fortunate that no one was killed. But i have to say... That was some great driving skills. 🚗🚓🚓
I want the news to follow up on why the pit was denied so many times. When the officer had a chance to stop it early
Bro the trooper stayed on the same siren tone for 30 mins props for not being annoyed with the prio tone for that long 💀. FHP and surrounding agencies handled the pursuit to thr best they could for the amount of traffic there was. Props to the South FL LE Agencies that helped in this pursuit.
This is most likely the best hot pursuit video I’ve ever seen I’m over here yelling at the cars to move out the cops way 😂
I want to point out that these officers are well-trained at their job. When you see the lights in the mirror, please get out of the way. Anticipating their move could be fatal. Just an x- Sheriff throwing his two cents in, lol. God bless, folks!🙏
Great video but Florida needs to learn how to end a pursuit before it turns into this. Almost painful to watch as all that interstate traffic is endangered because they didn't take the prime opportunity to stop them early on.
Sounds like patrol car is falling apart!
That driver did his thing! It was pretty much close to the most exciting chase I've seen. I personally would of pitted that fool when he hit the first U-turn.
This is the most exciting chase you’ve ever seen? lol poor you
watch wheres918 on youtube, better chases than anything on here
Can someone explain why at 07:37 the cop on the other side of the road couldn't just swing a hard left and end the pursuit. Sure, s/he'd get T-boned, but the chase is over. Do nothing and it will go on for another 25 minutes endangering every object and person.
If you were the cop, would you do it?
start firing the ARs through windshield before innocents get killed, these guys obviously do not care
they don't have permission
I’m kinda against pit maneuvers since I watch a 12 year old boy passenger die in one but I’d had pitted this asshole 5 or 6 times in this one ! 🤷🏻♂🥃
@@tobchi5737 and that's the crazy part, permission should have been given. Where is the individual making these calls? Are they in the office somewhere or are they out in the road behind the vehicle because that should have been obvious to anybody.
You do not want to put yourself in front of the perp. If any weapons are in their car that would position you in their direct line of fire.
Superb driving skills PO!
That civic got some balls. Running from a 5.7 like he’s gonna get somewhere lol.
4:50 And this is where it could have all ended early and saved thousands of citizens from having their lives put in danger.
There was confusion at the beginning if FHP was in charge or the County. That needs to be fixed. The FHP could have pitted several times waiting on a answer. While we live in a smaller area. There is no question who takes the lead GHP.
Watching this is weird, satisfying, and terrifying at the same time.
who is the so called supervisor on the radio... Officer asks can I PIT & end this? the supervisor says NO..... what the ****??? no don't stop it just let em keep driving recklessly thru heavy traffic.... many perfect open areas to safely PIT & stop the pursuit & some **** says NO...... EPIC FAILURE C'mon Florida... you're smarter than this... this was an EPIC management failure.. this easily could've been stopped with very minimal damage....Troopers did excellent.... pathetic supervisor... I hope that supervisor that refused to allow this to be stopped is Fired...
