    Just to clarify (I am about to get mean) because some dingbat is trying to call me out in the comments. I really can't help it when people of little intelligence accuse me of things when really they are not the sharpest tool in the shed and they don't know that 2 + 2 = 4. They think it equals 22, but whatcha gonna do?
    In the video, I tell my story of discovering VultrHF in December and immediately switching to it. But that going direct is VERY technical. Then I tell how I called and begged Cloudways to add it as an option, which they did 5 days ago.
    Well this genius writes, "You say you’ve been enjoying it for 10 months. Your cloudways account only has a digital ocean server..... Hmmm"
    Break out the tinfoil hat and report that UFO, ya figured me out!
    The reality is, even though this is a channel for non-techies, I myself am VERY technical. I have been using VultrHF directly, since December, just like I said in the video. Now that Cloudways is an option, that is by far the better way.

      Just a quick question: *How much is too much (pages + posts) on WordPress?*
      I'm asking you that because one of my clients has around 1500pages + 1000posts and the site gets slower each week (public and admin). Yes, the site is optimized and cached (wp plugins) already. The server resources are ok too. Thank you in advance!

    • @alaididnalid7660
      @alaididnalid7660 4 роки тому

      @@dividsky I went through a lot of Adams videos and my take on it is that pagebuilders play a big role when it comes to speed. Gutenberg should be faster but I don't have enough insight to give you actual numbers. I mean, it also depends on the server setup, right? Shared hosting vs dedicated resources? I'm lacking thorough experience in WordPress though, I'm still catching up on things as I used to be more of a Drupal 7 guy.

      Yes VultrHF is real. For anyone already on Cloudways, you just gotta spin up a new server, push your slowest website, and test it. People are switching over to it like crazy because why not, just a few dollars extra for a ton more performance.

      You you really need to add a VultrHF server, then move a site over to see how it performs. After that, I bet you move all your sites to the new server.
      Actually I have done that many times with Cloudways, add a new server then push the apps over to it.

    I'd been thinking to trying HF out and this video pushed me to commit. The speed increase is noticeable. I noticed it especially when deleting redundant applications. It was easy to clone the old server to a new HF server and it was a bit of work re-activating premium plugin licenses on the new server, but it was worth it. For an extra 2 bucks it's a bargain. Thanks, Adam, for nudging them to implementing it.

    Sounds fantastic. Definitely will give it a try.
    In the past, I had used SiteGround (very satisfied with them until they raised the price from about $160 per year to over $400), and currently am using a2 and Hostinger. Both have advantages and disadvantages, and I'm not really happy with either one of them; they are ok but not great.
    So where do you host your email servers if you don't mind me asking?

    • @WPCrafter
      @WPCrafter  4 роки тому +3

      So that video should be out today, but what I personally do is keep a dirt-cheap cpanel hosting that I use for email only. It's the cheapest way. We are talking cheap, like the Hostinger $1 per month hosting. I would never dare put a website on the hosting, but email is not sensitive. Many others use Google Apps or something like that if they have clients because it's smarter to not be their email support desk.

      As fast, but in my experience, a bit faster, then the first 3, BUT you have to understand that they are adding a CDN, so for a true test you should to. When you use BunnyCDN it will cost pennies per month. Hostinger is not fast at all, and doesn't belong in that group of hosts.

    Hi!
    Thank you for the great video.
    Is it possible to install multiple wordpress installations on the same domain like on any other webhost?
    If so, can I do that on any of the cloud plans as long as I don't exceed the limits or do I need 1 cloud plan per domain or wordpress installation?

    Very interesting ... does Cloudways support hosting resellers. I have a hosting reseller account with NameHero where I use WHMCS to automatically configure and setup hosting packages for my clients (using WHM and cPanel). The WHMCS package also allows me to provide domain registration services to my clients and configure them in my clients hosting package without me having to do ANYTHING manually.
    Does Cloudways offer this or something similar for configuring your server?

    • @WPCrafter

      Yes so you will really feel it in the admin area, but yes, the front as well. Sometimes you can mask the front end right, with heavy caching, but you can't mask the admin area.
      I did try out Hostinger Litespeed and the TTFB is slower because it's stil shared hosting, but its a really low price. But Cloudways is giving you dedicated resources, that you don't share. So there is a bit of a difference there.

    Adam great as usual. Have you looked into going direct to Vultr and spinning up a server and installing CyberPanel, which is an open-source control panel? You would save a shed load of money doing it this way when compared to Cloudways, especially the higher plans

    • @WPCrafter
      @WPCrafter  3 роки тому

      Hey Ed, I think you also asked this in the Facebook Group :-). Just going to copy/paste my response here:
      Yes that is an open source control panel but I think there are some things you are not factoring in. When you had hosting at A2 hosting, they were managing and maintaining your server for you. If there was an issue, they dealt with it with priority, so fast that you wouldn't even know. So even though you only sought some help a few times related to your website, that doesn't mean everything else was hands off. So while you can put an open source control panel on a server, just make sure you know Linux and Linux commands to be able to know your way around.
      Prior to Cloudways I used Linode direct and gotta say, it was no walk in the park, and I do have experience with Linux and system admin. It wasn't a matter of if something goes wrong, it was more of a when something goes wrong, because it's going to happen. For me, I will never go direct again just to save $10 per month or whatever it ends up being.
