I daily drive my crosstrek. Absolutely love it, wish it had more hp but I don't care much about that. For a daily driver it has amazing mpg and can go anywhere in rough conditions. My weekend car gets jealous of how much I use the subaru heh.

I just traded in my 2018 Crosstrek to the 2021. I have nothing but great experience with mine. This car was beyond reliable & after 4 years 45000 mills, I still got 27k towards my new car. I highly recommend this car, especially with the bigger motor 🙏🏽

I purchased a new 2017 Outback fully loaded. I had RAB problems and other electrical problems from the start. The dealer did nothing to fix the issues, just deleted the PC ( erased the evidence ) then refused to provide any paperwork to prove I was there. As the issues got much worse, full engine shutdown, towed to the dealer 4 times. Each and ever time I called Subaru service, I told them my car was a lemon and I wanted the car returned and replaced. They told me they would make note and take care of me. In short, they turned their back on me, 10+ times for repairs, still not fixed, they didn't know how to fix it. District service manager told me to contact customer service and demand a full refund. I did as he said, but customer service said, because the first dealer did not provide the paperwork, even tho I had many phone calls demanding Lemon Law protection, she basically said, to bad to sad. Traded the car in, still not fixed, still under warranty. Lost well over $14,000 because Subaru does not stand behind their cars.

To all the people who say it's underpowered: Subaru isn't going to change the power plant so long as it's one of their best sellers. I own a 2018 with a 6spd MT, and I have no complaints. If I want power, I just wind it out more before shifting (red line is 6250 rpm, and it pulls all the way to it). It still gets over 30mpg if I drive sensibly. My only complaint would be the difficulty launching Android Auto that occurs on a too-frequent basis.

I definitely agree, and I think most people will also agree that they prefer physical buttons and knobs for climate control, it’s way easier to control than a touch screen. I mean, Honda realized that people prefer a volume knob than touch volume slider, that’s why Honda starts to add back volume knob for a few cars like pilot and civic.

i agree, the UK Outback's have the 2.5 engine and my new one runs great, but didnt like the Levorg or XV (Crosstrek) due to the rev-hang of the 2.0L engine. really need to be bringing in better engines and replace the ageing CVT with something better.

    • @jameskocks4734

@@Mogsy28uk nothing wrong with the fa20dit it just has a shitty tune on it. When i put a custom tune with parts it really transformed my wrx into a beast. The rev hang does suck but an ots tune will fix that. As for the cvt. Cvts just suck in general. If they're going to put an automatic it at least shouldn't be a cvt. The problem with that if they do put some fancy automatic transmission in it that raises prices and people who buy the wrx at least dont want an automatic. The Levorg to me looks like a hatch wrx but only in cvt i think.

CVT will start to buck in traffic after some miles (Subaru calls this normal), then they start to shudder, then surge at traffic stops and the shuddering gets worse then eventually fail at $6000 if you don't have the 100K warranty........Its not going to last 200K miles like the old 2004 foresters did.

I myself find the 2.0 flat-4 engine to feel pretty good, acceleration from a stop and especially from a roll feels very responsive and although the 0-60mph time of 8.7sec-9.0sec is just about average…the way the engine responds and how the car handles makes it feel like it’s faster and therefore more fun to drive! Especially when you drive fast in sand or dirt! 152HP in a tall riding AWD compact wagon has never felt so impressive to drive! The over 30mpg is the nice cherry on top! But if you want to have your cake and eat it too, then get the optional 2.5 flat-4….182HP with equal or better mpg’s! The more the better, that’s what I always say!

    2020-02-01, Crosstrek Sport 2019
    Pros:
    * Excellent handling in snow (Tier 2 tires from Canadian Tire)
    * Good gas mileage in summer (average = 9L/100 km)
    Cons:
    * Stock 17in tires are hard as a rock,
    * With the bad highways we have in Québec (3rd world rated) the car rocks with every bump or pothole (here we have them in chicken, ostrich, dinosaur and crater sizes, your choice).
    * High dB noise in cabin on highways, worst tires ever in one of my cars in the last 35 years. dB went down almost 10 points with my winter tires. You will want to take a break after more than 2 hours on the road, good luck when you scream to your passenger.
    * No rear vents: back seat passengers will freeze their feet for sure in winter (a few nights and days at -20C and lower).
    * On a -22C (-35C with windchill) morning, cabin never got warm after +20 minute highway drive.
    * The higher you have your temp the less vent you have and you can hear and feel it.
    * Ventilation is badly designed for our Canadian winters with passengers in the back seat, either you have a clear windshield/warm feet and foggy side windows, or clear side windows/warm feet but foggy windshield. If passengers bring snow inside the car then you will have foggy windows guaranteed.
    * On a cold day, CVT is sluggish until it’s warm, could take more than 10 minutes after you hit the highway. Symptoms: sluggish performance and car feels constipated (you press on the gas and it hardly goes) revs high over 2300RPM then eventually lowers to about 1700RPM at highway speed when warm. you will see you gas consumption go up while it’s cold.
    * Summer time, vent is still not enough, you will end running at Max A/C often and still sweat inside.
    * Car seats are good but not good enough if you have back problems and do more than 2.5 hour drives, we did a 6 hour trip this summer with 3 passengers and we stopped twice to stretch our backs. NO LUMBAR support whatsoever. Couldn’t wait to get to destination. Left the car in a private parking lot and used Uber to move around, no way that I was going to suffer more.
    * Infotainment: Sometimes system doesn’t recognize our iPhones, it is like nothing is connected at the end of the wire, even if you turn-off the car and then back on, eventually it will recognize it.
    * Can’t turn-off display without powering-off the radio (my 2011 Dodge Journey allowed me to turn-off the screen while still listening to the media/radio). Too much light in night driving (even when dimmed down).
To summarize: I won’t buy another subie ever again.

I'm confused a bit. I have a 2019 LTD that has every single thing in it that you've mentioned. So what makes the 2020 even better for this year? I'm not trying to be snarky nor shadey. I saw your title and wanted to know what was better about the '20 than the '19. Is there something I missed? Please advise.
Thanks. You made a great video. - Keith

2019 Limited did not have Eyesight included as a standard feature, it was an additional $1500 on top of the limited trim price. There are also a couple other features now standard.

I drove my wifes 2010 chev aveo in the mountains and thats like 108 horsepower and like 105 torque. It was rough .my mother has a crosstrek and i test drove that it has 390 rear end gearing and the cvt seems to keep it in the powerband as much as possible. It was good with crosswinds .i think u would be fine in the mountains with yourself and another person with gear but if the car is fully loaded with 4 and gear it may feel overly taxed .

      I own a 2019 crosstrek 6 speed manual premium
And yes it’s very underpowered along with the ac.
and have had problems with it leaking oil from the cam carrier at 5000 miles dealership had to remove engine to reseal
Also head unit is nothing but issues from freezing to losing your presets
1st and last Subaru for me

Dear Subaru, maybe nobody’s mentioned this but this thing is underpowered and cvts are garbage. I’ve owned Subaru’s for twenty years but when it was time for my wife to replace her car she went with a vw with a 1.8turbo and 6spd auto. She liked the cross trek but it was SLOW. She gets 36 plus mpg highway in sport mode and that’s pretty good for a lead foot.

    • @KarmicPatina
      @KarmicPatina 5 років тому +2

If my wife had a lead foot, the Subaru makes even more sense. It doesn't haul ass, so she will inherintly be safer, and so will other drivers. In other words, SLOW THE EFF DOWN.

    • @KarmicPatina
      @KarmicPatina 5 років тому +2

@BBD Design based on what? CVT transmissions are far more reliable than traditional transmissions. They don't fail or need maintenance.
