I think the reason why Thaidene Nene is made that way is to protect specific trees, those ancient giant is an unique ecosystem by itself. Though I don't know if there is any giant tree live in that area, so it may just be something that can't move.
Canada has beautiful parks, period - including city parks like Stanley, Mount Royal, Niagara Falls, and many others. Those initial Parks in the Rockies are all great (have been to all 5-6), and I agree that Waterton Lakes is under-appreciated, much like Glacier NP in Montana. Cape Breton in NS is also phenomenal. Like AK in the USA, the remote Canadian NPs will get few to no visitors, but I guess it is nice to keep the polar bears happy - especially if you take the train to Churchill - lest you become their lunch! If they are happy, they might spare you. LOL! I also like Jacques Cartier NP in Quebec, asxwell as a couple north of Toronto, much prettier than most of lower Ontario, which is aesthetically-challenged - other than 1000 Islands and the Emerald necklace around Ottawa, and the Rideau Canal. I know I gave saidcit before, but you gave a very nice presentation style, and I hope you can build your subscriber list and profit well. You offer good information. Thanks!
@@iancanuckistan2244 I have seen a few videos on it, but have not made it to Newfoundland yet. PEI is the other province I have missed. I plan on spending 4 months in NH each year, so plan on picking up those 2 missing parts odcmy Canadian experience. While not heavily populated, it is a HUGE country to explore. There are still many parts of beautiful BC I have not reached, though have been to the province well over a dozen times, as I spent 19 years on the US West Coast.
How is Canada the first to have a National park system, when the US had two parks (3 if you count Lincolns Yosemite Land Grant of 1864) up to a decade before Canada's Banff?
You missed Kootenay National Park in B.C. where Radium Hot Springs is located. Waterton National Park is on the Canadian side and on the U.S. side it's called Glacier National Park.
Canadas national park system focuses on recreation while the us system prioritizes conservation. We need to designate more wilderness areas with no infrastructure
Thats not really true. US system does some things better. But in the end, Canada NP protect more land and are wayyy less travelled to and developed, with about half of Canada’s NPs not even having a single road in them

I am not a tree hugger, I believe in resource extraction as a good thing for our country, I have harvested from the land and continue to do so... we kinda suck at protection and smart management of our resources tho
We even have provincial parks too. So we in the end probably have about double the protected land as stated. Also a few privately owned smaller parks
Shockingly provincial parks protect around double the area of NPs, in bc they protect 10% of the province!
