    When I was up North, someone die while coming back from the toilet which was outside. We used a rope to the out house to find our way in the dark, but must have been blown off by high winds and lost his grip and way through the dark and died of exposure. We found his remains the next day about 1.5 km from the house.

    Having seen what development encroachment can do to a wilderness area like in WA and OR, I would not be in such a hurry to develop your forests. Yes, it might be nice to have the economic might of 75-100 million, but since most people do not like Cold, it will lIkely just cause the current metro areas to balloon.

    • @EliF-ge5bu
      @EliF-ge5bu 2 роки тому +2

      Big difference is that unlike in WA and OR, the forest in Canada is not suitable for agriculture so its going to be really hard to sustain a large population in that region.

    If the U.S. had conquered the Ontario peninsula in the two wars between the countries, would Canada have retained enough good land to be viable as a country?

      Yes

    • @t.s.8893
      @t.s.8893 2 роки тому +1

      Good question. If it was the Canada of today, then the answer is an easy yes as Canada's prairie region generates most of our food and constitutes the majority of agriculturally viable lands. However, back in the day, Canada was only Today's Ontario and Quebec - with the Ontario peninsula constituting the bulk of farming lands in the country. Had the Americans took over it, chances are the rest of English Canada would've fallen and Quebec managing a separate deal with the U.S.
      This is why the peninsula was where most attacks happened, and it's why Canadians and the loyalists defended it with all they've got. They knew if they lost it, there will be no Canada.

    7:48 You missed the most important point - much of Canada beyond the 100 km from the US border is not suitable for agriculture. It was covered in ice for so long during the last ice age that the vegetation has not yet done its job of creating a type of soil that can sustain agriculture.

      You are correct however you are missing something here, the population of northern Ontario is far greater than that of Southern Ontario so if the tax dollars were to be spent evenly according to population I wouldn't have to travel some 6hrs South to Toronto or Ottawa just to get a cast put on a broken arm. We would have proper road improvements instead of just barely maintaining them and our municipalities wouldn't have to hold fund raisers just to make pay roll. The town I live in has put in requests to the federal and provincial governments for nearly 30yrs to get help replacing our sewer and water lines that have been in place since the 1800s and guess what not a dime sent.....so no definitely not an overstatement

    Your basing your theory's on opion ,it's not factual.
    When the areas were first settled 1534 by France/ Jaques Cartier their was no borders. When new France owned land from Gaspe Peninsula to Florida to Manitoba. There were no Canada u.s. border. So the areas that were settled from gulf of St Lawrence to the saint Lawrence River, to the Hudson River then trough all their tributaries to Mississippi etc . This was a all native waterways trails. As the natives traded with one another from Quebec to the costs, inland to as far as South America. The Europeans used the already roots used by natives, as some natives collaborated with explores. So the migration pattern was their before borders, and we all about the genicied history after natives helped white Europeans.
    The same goes for Nunavut/ territories and the far north. Inuvik people have been there for tens of thousands of years. INUVIK meaning " THE PLACE OF MAN" . So to say there is only mining is deception.
    I presume your from New Brunswick, by your video shot. I've lived every were in Canada. You should learn the true history.
    The same goes for the rest of the two countries you speak off. They were all areas of heavy population of indigenous people, that were taken by colonialists.

    A great deal of the northern states were part of the British colony Oregon and Wash.Mon,North Dak.,Min.Wis.and more were part of this Canada and people in Can died fighting the colony south of us . It was given to the south by Britain to appease the revolutionaries from starting another conflict with Britain when it just finished one with France. So the people either moved north or became US citizens.The earth is for humans use not to worship it but use and care for it .The climate is always changing naturally not this made up crap about man made.

    All reasons are valid, however, the actual reason behind it is that after the American Revolution, the British wanted to defend Canada against an U.S. invasion (which was attempted multiple times and was a dream of many U.S. politicians of that time to push the U.S. borders up north), and therefore, the only logical way was to have a strong Canadian population within a small distance of the border to defend it.

      THE original purpose of locating the Canadian population close too the Canadian USA border was British military planned operation.
      Remember Britian had lost their colonies in USA.
      France did the Louisiana Purchase with the United States.
      Britian and France fought continually.
      Finally England received New France now Quebec.
      Britian had a large colonial system to defend against other colonial powers.
      To say Canada is too cold too lice in and can only support a small population.
      Russian population 144,000,000 million.
      Canada 40 million maybe.
      Canada as a democratic nation is only 150 yrs old.
      Most Canadian's in the nicest way possible.
      Want a small population.
      Ya Canada is cold long winter's, not for the faint of heart.

Joebama is a putz idiot, who was never duly elected, but the US economy is still the best in the world (despite all the restrictions imposed by the Left Marxists), and our taxes are much less than Canada. I could happily live on Vancouver Island, but it has become prohibitively expensive, and BC govt became more CA-like with some of its policies. However, the tyranny during the fake "pandemic" was atrocious in Canada - especially, Ontario and Quebec, where the provincial premiers channeled their inner Hitler. Pathetic! The Canadian Constitution does not have the same provisions of protection against govt overreach/tyranny that the US Constitution affords - and even with that, blue state tyrants still violated numerous provisions, and Nancy Pelosi and her gang, are trying every day to erode it. Canada is a beautiful country, but I know several Canadians, who would prefer to live here. If the whole country was run like Alberta, it would be great, but unfortunately, you have a lot of Lefty socialists in other provinces and Ottawa, that do not think similarly.
