I listened to the entirety of Music of the Spheres last night and dammit if it didn't make me reminisce about playing it for years. Destiny 1 had such an awe filled and ecstatic atmosphere with Marty's music being that cherry on top that made the game just as good. I never got further than the first couple missions of destiny 2, but listening to that soundtrack makes me wanna download destiny 1 and play it all over again. At the end of its rope destiny 1 was, I think, pretty close to what they wanted it to be from the get go.
It truly did and that was Activision wanting to make more money but since they pushed it out so fast it backfired and almost destroyed destiny 2 and now that bungie is by themselves they don’t have the money backing em up so there pretty much destroying the game
I don’t like destiny 2 yes it’s fun but just the base game itself doesn’t give off that special feeling destiny 1 had they should’ve never made destiny 2 and I’d be fine with it they should’ve continued destiny 1
Destiny 1 wasn’t just a game, it was an experience. Until I got that game, I never really had any online gaming friends. I always played by myself. Destiny changed that with its always-online nature, allowed me to be exposed to the rest of the world more. I played starting with the demo in like October or November 2014, 8th grade. I didn’t get the full game until late January 2015. A couple months in, like the summer before high school started, I met two people on the Nexus Strike, one of whom would become a good friend of mine and part of a clan of friends we’d end up creating. That clan would become the closest group of friends ever that I never had the chance of physically meeting. They were the best people I could ask for during my formative high school years. I loved goofing around at school with real-life friends, then coming home and playing Destiny all afternoon and evening with them; running Strikes, Crucible, Prison of Elders, doing Raids on weekends. It was the best experience of my life. I’ve never had anything like that before or since. It’s one of the main reasons I miss my high school years outside of school.
Me to bro i would grind the hell out of the demo and even beg my friends to borrow the game so i could raid loli finally got my own copy right before taken king came out
I was in 8th grade too, my friend brought it to my house and slept over and I stayed away all night playing it. Fell in love with this game it was so great! Good times that I miss still today, you’re not alone man!
And it's an experience that can at least still be played from beginning to the end today. Meanwhile, with Destiny 2, it's an experience that forces you to be there or never be able to experience it again, to the point where I'd say all the best parts of it have already been removed. I will never be able to put into words why Destiny 1 was one of, if not the best gaming experiences I've had in my entire life, to the point where I basically actively become depressed whenever I watch content on it or go play Destiny 2, wishing I could experience it all again
I remember playing with random people in strikes and feeling like a OG showing them that window and the spot underneath the cabal strike boss (I dont remember his name).
Just hearing Destiny 1 music puts a smile on my face. A flood of memories pours in. Sure vanilla D1 had its faults, but I can never forget the fun times with friends and strangers that became friends. That hasn't really happened with D2. I don't think I'll personally have that with D2 in the years to come, it's just not the same to me. D1 was a mess, but you know what...it was OUR mess.
I totally agreed with you. I started D1 again since couple of weeks ago and having so much fun. Especially the music is so spot on and perfect cherry on top. When I am having a break, I keep staying in orbit and just enjoy the music. D2 music is good but it’s just ok.
I met so many randoms and they became my friends that I played with daily, I also had so many memories and It makes me nastalgic whenever I think about it
I feel like Taken King singlehandedly made Destiny my favorite game. In vanilla, the game felt empty and pointless after a month, but then Oryx came rolling along to save the day (and end our world). The raid was complicated and rewarding, Trials and Iron Banner has some of the best weapons, the dreadnaught had so much to explore, from the chests that required those weird runes names xol or akka, to the 50 calcified fragments, I was always full of wonder. Destiny 2 just doesn’t feel right, and so much has changed that it almost feels unrecognizable. I still play D1 to this day, do some raids with my clan and talk to some old friends and hear that their voice just dropped like the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. I miss this game so much.
My favorite dlc was the rise of iron, I loved the raid and the story. The outbreak prime was the best loot drop I had and I never put it down. Siva fallen was just all around my favorite enemy type to kill and the siva all around earth was kinda cool looking.
Destiny had a level of mystery that just blew me away. I’ve never had such a curiosity for a game. It just seemed so in depth and brilliant in every way.
Same. The only things gor me with more mysteriousness the way I like it were the Forerunners from Halo (Not counting 343 era stuff), and some of the more obscure lore in The Elder Scrolls.
I spent all of my 8th grade year playing destiny and loving it so much. I slacked off in school just to play it and continued to play throughout its entire life cycle. The nostalgia I get now from coming back to the game to do a raid every once in awhile is intoxicating. A flawed game, yes, but definitely one of the best experiences in gaming I’ve had in my entire life.
I remember playing the PS3 version all the time, my first experience was when my father had rented it from our local Redbox and I fell in love with the game. I begged and begged for the game and finally got it. Of course, I was about 13 when I first played and I mostly just stayed in one area trying to "farm for exotics" with me never knowing what it was actually like. I do miss and love this game, I'm glad I was an original PS3 player.
@@LeatheredSmoke I was around 10 when I first played on the 360. I rented that game from like October every weekend until Christmas when I got my ps4. I've been playing since but no hear of destiny has ever felt as good as year 1
commoDoggo 69 yes. In a way, Vanilla D1 was the only time I enjoyed PvP in Destiny history because it reminded me of MW2 in that more things were OP than weren't, thus creating an odd balance where I could run what I wanted and play my style rather than being dictated to by a single meta where if I don't run that exact setup I cannot compete.
makes me wanna cry knowing ill never be able to experience d1 year 1 again. the music when u load up just gives me chills and makes me shed a tear as nerdy as that sounds
House of Wolves era was the best for me. Great endgame, good loot and levelling, nice simple story, great crucible. Dont get me wrong, I love where destiny is now, but HoW was where it was at.
Now destiny 2 is at its second worst state... god I wish I could relive D1 Day 1 again for a second time. I just fucking loved the destiny franchise in D1 days. Just doing nightfalls, raids, weekly strikes, daily missions, bounty’s, PVP, trials, hunting for exotic guns. Man year 1 was the best destiny time. After that it was still very good, especially archons forge farming for a god roll saladins vigil for PVP. Fuck D2.
Destiny 1 BEST GAME EVER I loved it so much Good memories It was my first game on ps4 It was literally my first love I loved it so much I haven’t had so much fun in a game in a LOOOONG time
I am only 14, but I spent my childhood on destiny one, it was my favorite time in my life as a child, I completed everything in destiny 1, wether it was raids, cruicible metals, I did it all, now I continue to be legend in destiny 2, thank you bungie, that comes from all of us
I almost cried while watching this. Destiny since day one has been a large part of my life. I met a great friend through phogoth and we still play destiny together today. I miss grinding out strikes and praying to God I got good loot. I miss it all. A billion deaths are not enough for master Rahool.
The thing I miss the most about year 1 Destiny was exclusivity. I know that for a mainstream title aimed more at casuals than hobbyists it hurt the fame to be the way it was, but good exotics and legendaries being hard to come by and meaningful to obtain made everything so damn fun. Everything has become so simple to earn whether its light level, endgame rewards or exotics that none of it feels important. Its just hard to care when its all so common
I was a real try hard back in year one and even less than a year ago. I used to try and get every exotic, but I refuse to even try to get the new exotic armor just because it means absolutely fucking nothing anymore. The excitement of getting your first legendary is close to none, especially compared to year 1. They really need to make either d3 and make everything rare af or do a tk style wipe and make things rare again.
It definitely felt like uncharted territory at the time! The feeling of seeing someone with an exotic you hadn’t seen before was mind-blowing! And if you had VoG armour, you could expect a ton of invites just by arriving in the tower.
Literally nothing. Spending hours and hours and hours and being killed over and over and over and then finally seeing that final boss crumble into a dissipating illumination of light was so satisfying
Got the game when i was 10 it had just Come out I remember Beeing scared of the thrall hiding in that Dark room at the begining of the story. But Then as time passed and i starter to gett older Meeting friends playing the game. Just inviting people from lfg or the tower lying about my age and begging them to play Whit me and help me complete crotas. But then also the first time going flawless on trials and started becoming a sweat cant belive that was 4 years ago now enyways incredible game
when i tell you i wish i wasnt ten when the game came out i mean it. so nostalgic but i never got into the community because no one wants to run a raid w a squeaker
everytime I hear the d1 soundtrack it just gives me nostalgia that reminds me of 2015 summers -- sitting inside on my xbox with my friends raiding to level 30 with VOG and Crota's End as I was preparing for middle school. A time like that truly was so peaceful.
To me, Destiny 1 had better world design, and I felt that the gun play was more enjoyable. The overall design of D1 was crispier than D2, if that makes sense. Destiny 2 just isn’t distinct along the edges as far as the graphics go.
NovemberHotel they made destiny two for the money in my opinion I got the $100 version on Ps4 and was extremely disappointed the first two expansions I got for free were horrible and the good ones now I have to spend another $40 on
yea for real idk what the did with destiny 2 but it feels just not like destiny, the aestetic the music everything the gun play feels weird like the weapons dont feel as smooth consistent and nice to use and the environments just look too unlike destiny as well as the lighting being no where near as good as d1 where in d1 it was all dark and mysterious
Broose Wain yea for sure its not the same they copied the concept but the style got thrown out the window like our characters now basically all look the same there used to be a clear distinction between hunters slim sleek shape titans robot halo spartan looking armour and warlocks robes now they all look similar take the new seasons armour for example too similar ngl i wish we could get the classic armour back like the stuff u got levelling up in year 1
Always loved Year 1 Destiny, finally someone made a comprehensive video covering it. Especially Year 1 multiplayer I think it was the most balanced and fun the multiplayer has ever been.
@@stepwise2765 and it's just not as good original d1 trials. Loot sucks. The lighthouse isn't cool in my opinion. Hmu if anybody trying to run d1 stuff!
Yep. Destiny vanilla+ was so special to experience because everyone was terrible at the game. It made even a simple nightfall strike really difficult to complete, not to mention the raids. Then when you finally got to complete those activities and got the awesome new exotic it was just magical. It felt like no one else was having the same experience as you, even if they were.
Ive been playing Destiny since Destiny 1 day 1. Vanilla Destiny was just that type of experience you couldn't find anywhere else and as someone who has very fond memories of that time I can tell you it was one heck of a ride, especially when you got exotics. Also newer players will never know the feeling of having dinkle bot at your side xD. Also again Forever 29 was me for so long, But you know what even with the leveling problem and brutal rng i still Platinumed the game cause i loved it
Oh man I remember d1 beta on PS3 and 360. It was so much fun, I still remember the satisfaction I felt the first time I fist of havoc'd a group of fallen. The shotgun's felt so good and beefy, the handcannon's felt so crisp. I mean I like d2 but it doesn't even compare to D1, especially in the crucible department.
My favorite moment from D1. I'm standing the Tower doing nothing and another Guardian came up to me asking a simple question: "VoG?". That's all he said, but I had never raided before and got all giddy thinking I would finally get to try the thing everyone was talking about. I didn't have a clan or a group of friends who played all the time, so this was my chance. We went on to clear VoG that night. After that I loved raiding. I miss that D1 raid experience. But it really was about the people. Something about raiding brings people together: working together for a common goal. Post-script: I quit D2 after the end of Beyond Light because I didn't like the direction it was going in, but none of that changes the good times I had in D1.
Man I’d just like to say this made me kinda emotional this game brought so much happiness to me and to see these things brought back up made me happy also great video my man keep it uo
I've been playing Destiny since the Beta for Destiny 1 came out. I fell in love with the Beta then, and I still love the franchise today. I don't have as much time to dedicate to playing the game as I'd like now, but it is still one of my go to's for gaming. I really like this video because it showcases all of the things that made vanilla Destiny so great.
Destiny was hands down one of the best experiences i had with an online game, just awesome, how it got into you routine, one day strikes, one day crucibles, one day raids... get to know people that now i call my brothers... and dont even get me started on iron banners, it did not care if you had to study, had birthday party, your sisters wedding IT DID NOT CARE, you just stayed at home, boot Destiny and just be happy man! Great Memories with this game!
that music was so nostalgic, old memories from me playing the game in my first year of high school, with friends that i have come to lose over the years. The game has my heart.
I hadn’t even heard of Destiny the day before I got it lol. I was just searching Redbox for a game to rent, and chose Destiny. This was a couple weeks after the game fully dropped I think, but I know for sure it was the start of year one Destiny one. I wasn’t really a gamer before I got into destiny. I wonder how I would’ve turned out if I never rented destiny from that Redbox.. I probably have over 2000+ hours played.
Destiny 1 gave me the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in my life. This game honestly changed my life for the better and I'm so blessed to have played it when it was in its prime. I just wish sometimes... that I knew this was gonna be the pinnacle of my gaming experiences. I also wish destiny 2 wasnt such a let down. I love destiny and I owe it my life. But to see it flop so hard and absolutely strip away core elements of the game that made it so amazing. Looking at destiny now... no trials, irrelevant raids, 8/10 exotics are obtained by quests, you dont have to jump into a raid to get max light, slow grenade, melee, and super build up, tokens galore, shitty looking armor, and loads more microtransactions. It really does break my heart to see this happen. D1 had trials of osiris, which was for me like the greatest and craziest pvp activities you can do. Getting 9-0 and going to an exclusive planet to get your rewards was some of the most pleasuring feelings. Vanilla destiny after killing the heart of the darkness of the vex, you ventured out to kill the god of vexs, atheon. Which in it as its self, is one of the most iconic moments of destiny for me and the continuity made it really cool. And now when you look at destiny 2 shadow keep. Yea it's cool but why is the raid in the black garden? Isnt shadow keep about the hive? Idk man it's just crazy to see the game take such a dumb turn
It’s crazy to think about all the good times had in destiny 1. Beating the raid and then hopping in crucible. I loved taken king the most. To me the armor and weapons have been my favorite to this day. Don’t play destiny much anymore as I only play solo now. But wow, the good old days.
Year 1 of Destiny pre taken king was unrivalled for me. It was something special and so many good memories. After year 1 and further down the line into the 2nd game it just never was the same
Yo I’m not sure why I got this as an ad, with it being 9 months old, but I’m glad it popped up! Haha I’m with you that vanilla may have had flaws but was just amazing haha! I spent hours with friends at the loot cave and can honestly remember my first exotic and how I got it haha. Universal remote after a crucible match on firebase delphi! I remember all my friends thought it was so awesome and even tho it was awful at pve you bet your ass I used it for every activity for so long haha
I remember playing d1 with my friends all night, whether it’d be trials or raids. We were only around the age of 13-14, now we’re all 18 and about to head off onto college. Every now and then we hop on back and do skirms for fun. I played with many streamers and have done countless carries, all of which I am extremely proud of. It helped me grow as a person, it’s amazing how I look back and laugh at how obnoxious we all used to be with our trials egos. An experience I will forever cherish and love. Unfortunately d2, does not bring any of that joy d1 brought.
I joined D1 in Taken King era, it was a new experience of gaming for me and I'm glad. Then when D2 came out, I did'nt had money because of school, but I bought the game a week before Warmind came out. I always like Destiny, it's my favourite game of all time maybe I have never completed a Raid or a Nightfall, but I never get boored, doing strikes, crucible, gambit and all those activities like public events, protocol, forges, etc or simply dance and greet some strangers at tower, playing soccer at village and then, at the end of day, when I get exhaust to play, just sit down to see the lake and enjoy the ambient music from the village. Thank you for reading this, and sorry if I can't writte correctly, english is not my first language n.n
Destiny was my favourite game. All my memories are made here and I made some of my best friends. Life was worth waking up for back then to play this game. I’ll never forget some of the best times I had. Thankyou destiny x
I played destiny 1 since 6th grade through middle school and a lil of ninth grade this shit was apart of my childhood and adolescence I would play for 12-20 hours every weekend and every day after school
I never did Play year 1, but I do wish that I did. I joined right after Rise of Iron had been released and I played vanilla for a good year before I took a break. Eventually I found my way back to the game and bought all the DLCs simply because of Curiosity. I remember my first mission of the Taken King Campaign on Phobos, or seeing Sepiks come back after the Splicers had discovered Siva. I remember conquering Vault of Glass for the first time, or getting my first and last clear of D1 Kings Fall. Those were the good years. Destiny 1 will always hold a place in my heart, even if I am not the oldest Veteran. I finally stopped playing when Beyond Light came out, and thats when I decided to Conqueror a New Destiny. A veteran turned a New Light.
Played almost up to Shadows Keep religiously. Vanilla was my fav. Especially vanilla IB. No better feeling than beating guardians that were 5 levels above me.
Dude, supporting not stalking, but your channel needs more exposure. It is quality stuff, you've pinned an original angle. Keep it up. This is up there with the best Destiny vids I've watched.
Seriously thank you dude. I'm glad you're enjoying my vids. It took me a long time to finally start making videos, I had a hard time thinking that my thoughts and videos were worth posting, so I really appreciate your comments and kind words. I hope to improve my content, I'm really diving into this and trying to get better. I'm glad to have you as a supporter of the channel.
For me, what made the first year of Destiny so special was the mystery, wonder, and valuable loot. I had never played a game like it. I remember grinding strikes just trying to get a blue auto rifle. When I ended up getting a legendary auto rifle I lost my mind. The mystery and the wonder of the universe also captured my imagination and it made exciting for where the universe could be taken. This is all absent from the game now with loot value being diminished w/ exotics being handed out in a battle pass. Mystery being taken from the game in favor of repeatable seasonal activities to drive player time up. I miss the feeling year 1 gave me
Ah well being 6 years ago i was in my 8th grade. Now im a junior in high school. My personal experience is unforgettable. Unfortunately i was shunned in my usual group of past friends. I wish i could relive those days differently. And by shunned usually being the offpick on nightfalls, raids. Most of the time given the shitty role in fireteams. Not to mention always being lower light level than my group because of this. Man im ranting but the things i would do to just go back and do it again right the second time. With people that helped each other. Cause i logged too many solo hours for such a team focused game.
Nicholas same I played Destiny with my friends so much during middle school but we ended up moving to the city right over after 8th grade and I didn’t go to their school so now that I’m a Junior, I haven’t really talked to them much. We sometimes rarely play games but it’s not the same
I love you for making this video. This video took me back to 2013 when I saw that E3 and took me back when I was begging my friend to come over and play Halo3 ODST on Xbox360 only to see that Destiny easter egg one more time because I didn’t have a console other than my PS2 and didn’t have internet too.. I promised myself to make Destiny my first PS3 game when I buy it and I actually did it.. so thanks for taking me back to my teenage years. ❤️
wow almost brought me to tears .. destiny was my favorite man miss those days grinding all day with no worries because i had no responsibilities lol game was so great destiny 2 just doesn’t do what this game did for me smh wish this game just kept getting updates instead of getting a sequel
Love these revising d1 videos I found them late so people probably won't see my comment. When I look back on destiny I can recall everything about it the meta in y1 or y2 the raid mechanics the cheeses the most difficult strikes the easiest ones everything in that game was engrained in my brain. It wasn't just pixels on a screen I lived that game everyday I came back from school loaded up the game and played with the friends I made on destiny. I remember I was in the tower and waa randomly inviting people to my team to help me do a heroic strike for strange coins cause I had no friends. One really good high level player helped and even carried me through crota (I joined the game in February 2015 so a little late house of wolves wasn't out yet). He introduced to his friends and I had people to play with. What I remember and cherish most is the struggles I went through with my friends going through the hardest missions. Who knew when we were playing this epic and fun game it would be one of the best memories and times of our lives. My friends quit after y1 destiny 2 so I stopped too it isn't fun anymore and it let me down I know it's a bit better now but without the friends it'a not the same
I kinda thought the idea of upgrading your armor with light to level up was interesting, but making previous armor obsolete with each DLC and making only raid gear to get you max level really pissed me off. Something they finally fixed with Taken King.
Yeah year 1 had its fair share of flaws for sure. House of wolves actually fixed that problem before taken king tho with the “etheric light” that allowed you to upgrade any item to 365 light. (The Max light at the time) it wasn’t perfect but it did allow us to use all of our awesome Vog weapons and vanilla gear again
I really feel like Destiny holds a special place in most of our hearts. Simply because of how new and different it was from most shooters we’ve seen. Now that feeling of discovery and mystery and just overall hype is gone now sadly. But hey hopefully they’ll get on track one day.
I played for the first time when Taken King came out. So I never experienced the game without a proper Quest system, etc. I also did not finish the vanilla story on my first play; the Dark Below content was so much more interesting to me that I chose that, and I felt like I was making that choice and it was somewhat meaningful. I burned through House of Wolves but for me it was a pit-stop on the way to the Taken King content. The Hive story made up the bulk of the game when I joined and I always found them to be the most interesting enemies. You can imagine my dismay when none of the expansions really ever returned to that Grimdark horror feeling of the original Hive.
This made me feel all tingly inside... thanks for making this video man I started playing destiny when it first released. I was so excited that I bought a copy for each of my friends to play, this was back in 2014 I just a 7th grader... now it’s 2021 and I’m still playing destiny 2 and having a lot of fun, sure it’s not destiny 1 but it’s still the game we all know and love. Long live the destiny community
That intro gave me straight chills, nothing compares to destiny 1. The nostalgia of doing the vault of glass and crotas end and getting the true amazing exotics like the ice breaker and hawk moon. Those were the days
Agreed, D1 was one of the best and was more hype then any raids in D2, I miss D1 alot, When i played Beta it was a new experience and i new it was ganna be a huge Game!
as a player joined right after vog launched i can wholeheartedly say this is my favorite game(s) and has been a great experience to be a part of especially as a younger player and that experience and influence from the people along the way have helped shape me into the person i am today. the memories i made along the way will, i hope, stick with me for the rest of my life and i won’t stop playing the game until it’s done
Watching this at 2am... Everything you said and the clips you showed in this video made me remember the epic moments that I had and the friends I have met along the way. I feel like crying, this game was so good.
Destiny 1 was a groundbreaking game for me. I stumbled upon it not knowing what it was and quickly fell in love. And out of love, and back again 4 or 5 more times. Playing D2 has made me revisit console gaming and destiny 1. I have never found another online experience like the vanilla. i wish i could go back to pre-siva era lol. Great video and brought back some great memories.
d1 was a large part of my experience with games. Got it in third or fourth grade on my junky old 360 and actually had to buy a hard drive to play it. Started right before the launch of house of wolves and played it for over a year until it was dead on the 360. Bought it again exactly 2 years ago right after it died again after the release of age of triumph. I still was able to have fun with my veteran friends who had also played during the early stages of the game and it will always hold a special place in my heart and remain the best game of all time in my book. Thanks for making this video to remind me of the incredible memories that I’ve had.
Content producers like yourself and Byf have done a ton for the game too. I have the game on PC overseas, haven't had the time or the XBox One here while teaching during the pandemic, but content like yours is keeping my interest. Thanks for that.
I quit in vanilla but came back when taken king hit. I kinda wish i hadnt quit because i am so invested now. But i was too young at the time to have the patience to appreciate vanilla.
without this game, the years, the time, the devotion, i wouldn’t be who i am today. I still play to this day. i hardly play d2 cuz i don’t understand it, i continue to play d1 to this day, i came arround at dark bellow and it was a blast, thanks to my friends and teams i got stuff done, i made so many memories with the game and the hard shed grinds for loot. i won’t stop playing this game even if there’s new consoles
Loved the video. Destiny 1 to this day is the game I logged the most hours into, I loved it for it's OP mechanics and community. I have Destiny 2 but never have a good reason to stay on because I don't have a large enough group of friends who can stay committed to playing this game with me. Maybe those days will come again, maybe it won't even be Destiny but- there's no questioning the fact that those days were the best days I ever had playing any game.
I came across destiny 1 music and listening to it brought back major memories.. and due to that and my nostalgia for destiny 1 and love for it I keep coming back back to destiny 2... I just can't let it down this game has taken place in my life since it's launch
I remember playing the demo back in 2 Grade and my dad bought it for me a little after. We both fell in love with it and I put over 4000 hours into it and stopped playing d1 in 6th Grade. I am in 10th Grade now looking back on all the good times I had on it.
For me I only played Destiny 2 after Shadowkeep launched and it felt so good to be welcomed with open arms. It may not be Destiny 1.. but it feels like home.
Thanks for watching the video guys, took me awhile to edit and put together so I hope you enjoyed!
NovemberHotel dude I love that you have taken inspiration from act man. You earned my subscription
Almighty Coon Thanks dude!
NovemberHotel im still played destiny 1 cuz i still didn’t complete the vault of glass
I just got recommended this video and I love it.
controversies many gamers don't careless if they got their bang for an buck
people will support it regardless of all the drama .
I could never explain to someone who's never played what makes it so special but it's perfect
Nothing is special but the people who buy it
Cal Schmidt damn I have no words for that other than ur a legend
I can. It's called "nostalgia".
@@TheEmerald-pv4gn It's not all just nostalgia to some though.

hell yes brother
I’m sure i pissed so many people in trials with that pink sniper rifle lol
Ngl I was in 7th grade and grounded for most of destiny 1 year 1 lol. I played one day of it and regretted not playing more
Only OGS have a god roll Supremacy from that event :D
Miss running raids for hours on end no game will ever feel the same
absolutely agree
I miss getting stuck on Templar for an hour
No game will come close
Actually they bought destiny rights from them for 100s of millions of dollars so I don’t think they are done with destiny yet maybe d3 2023
Must suck to have never been inside a girl.
Y’all ever just hear the og destiny soundtrack and it makes you feel happy again or is that just me?
I listened to the entirety of Music of the Spheres last night and dammit if it didn't make me reminisce about playing it for years. Destiny 1 had such an awe filled and ecstatic atmosphere with Marty's music being that cherry on top that made the game just as good. Yea it's on my spotify playlist
I cry.
Me too the music is OG
i’m listening to that shit right now
We can all admit that Destiny 2 came way to fast
It truly did and that was Activision wanting to make more money but since they pushed it out so fast it backfired and almost destroyed destiny 2 and now that bungie is by themselves they don’t have the money backing em up so there pretty much destroying the game
Takeing Chances I heard bungie recently got a big investment
D2 is the death of the franchise.
I don’t like destiny 2 yes it’s fun but just the base game itself doesn’t give off that special feeling destiny 1 had they should’ve never made destiny 2 and I’d be fine with it they should’ve continued destiny 1
Bosnian Turkey Leg same here, the open world aspect is not the same :(
Destiny 1 wasn’t just a game, it was an experience.
Me to bro i would grind the hell out of the demo and even beg my friends to borrow the game so i could raid loli finally got my own copy right before taken king came out
Same history...
Guilherme Sales I swear this is how it was
I was in 8th grade too, my friend brought it to my house and slept over and I stayed away all night playing it.
So proud that I was one of the original D1 Year 1 players. Best year of my life
Ethan Miller agree 100%
I agree May have not been vanilla but d1 year 1 was the bomb joined in dark below
I got it at launch. Was very disappointed
I follow the guy who made your pfp
Same
“Sepiks prime for its difficulty” all I remember was jumping through that glitched window and cheesing it when it was the night fall
reborn giant Throwback!
Omg yes!
I remember playing with random people in strikes and feeling like a OG showing them that window and the spot underneath the cabal strike boss (I dont remember his name).
reborn giant the one that was all blacked out! Omg!!!
That night fall was one of the easiest lowkey, Hardest part were the captains at the end but when the new swords came out they became a joke
D1 was a mess, but you know what...it was OUR mess.
so true. it was an unforgettable experience that forever will live with me
I totally agreed with you. I started D1 again since couple of weeks ago and having so much fun.
Especially the music is so spot on and perfect cherry on top. When I am having a break, I keep staying in orbit and just enjoy the music.
D2 music is good but it’s just ok.
I’ve got the D1 theme on my PlayStation still. Hearing that orbit music every time I switch it on still puts a smile on my face
I want to like but its 420 so i must do my duty and stand down
I met so many randoms and they became my friends that I played with daily, I also had so many memories and It makes me nastalgic whenever I think about it
D1's aesthetic and atmosphere was immersive. I miss those days so very much.
I miss this game so much.
jopunfromtarget - I miss this game. So much better than destiny 2
Amen... for me it was the best raid to complete
The only bad thing I didn't like about taken king was weapon retirement but otherwise it was a great expansion
My favorite dlc was the rise of iron, I loved the raid and the story. The outbreak prime was the best loot drop I had and I never put it down. Siva fallen was just all around my favorite enemy type to kill and the siva all around earth was kinda cool looking.
Agree, before destiny 1 Vanilla was mindlessly boring and repetitive but goddamn that was a great expansion
Destiny had a level of mystery that just blew me away. I’ve never had such a curiosity for a game. It just seemed so in depth and brilliant in every way.
Same
Agreed. Too bad D2 threw it all away
Wow I had a very similar experience, really miss those days when I was nervous tackling the Vault Of Glass for the first time
true brudda
God that makes me feel old.
How do you find ppl to do a D1 raid.
Yup, destiny was why I repeated 8th 😂 luckily I graduated tho
Destiny 1 was released at the right time and had no competition on next-gen consoles.
I've been playing since but no hear of destiny has ever felt as good as year 1
D1 was awful at launch
Remember in d1 when something was overpowered you just pulled out another op weapon to counter it
When there was hundreds of weapons that can compete in meta
You see thorn, pull out red death.
Want a hand cannon? Use Hawkmoon or TLW.
Want a deadly pulse, use Hopscotch.
List goes on, it was amazing
commoDoggo 69 yes.
The worst thing Bungie did was nuke a lot of those weapons. It was so much when you had insane guns to play with...
Best days
makes me wanna cry knowing ill never be able to experience d1 year 1 again. the music when u load up just gives me chills and makes me shed a tear as nerdy as that sounds
House of Wolves era was the best for me. Great endgame, good loot and levelling, nice simple story, great crucible. Dont get me wrong, I love where destiny is now, but HoW was where it was at.
house of wolves was absolutely incredible. 2 raids, prison of elders, trials, and etheric light allowing all legendaries to be max light.
NovemberHotel You forgot my main man Variks. Always calling out those big bads.
Fuck D2.
Rushin / SunDiegoRussia d2 doesn’t have a personality it’s so stale
The only problem was "No gjllarhorn no Skolas", but yeah, that era was truly great
To quote badass gaming:
“We call it Crackstiny. You may put it down, rage, or quit, but they come back. They always come back.”
Some Sad Boi lol
Destiny 1 BEST GAME EVER
I loved it so much
Good memories
It was my first game on ps4
It was literally my first love I loved it so much
I haven’t had so much fun in a game in a LOOOONG time
A-10 Warthog couldn't agree more. Destiny 1 made me fall in love with gaming again.
Same, the game was AMAZING.
I miss Friday Raid Nights with the boys. This game has given me some great times with my friends.
HD my stupid friends wouldn’t play it much except from one of them
I am only 14, but I spent my childhood on destiny one, it was my favorite time in my life as a child, I completed everything in destiny 1, wether it was raids, cruicible metals, I did it all, now I continue to be legend in destiny 2, thank you bungie, that comes from all of us
I almost cried while watching this.
I’m literally not going to watch this just because it’ll make me Miss it even more so imma head out y’all
BigGae get ya, tears in my eyes
I’m crying man... makes a grown man cry
It definitely felt like uncharted territory at the time! The feeling of seeing someone with an exotic you hadn’t seen before was mind-blowing! And if you had VoG armour, you could expect a ton of invites just by arriving in the tower.
The raid boss endings are so nostalgic nothing like finally killing a boss after raiding for 8 hours with an lfg team
@@loganr4102 I can not even remember how many parties I got kicked out of for my shrieking voice lol.
@@loganr4102 me too xD
lmaooo same man
I remember doing a vog and everyone that was 29 would hide behind the 30’s because they could tank a lot more damage aha
everytime I hear the d1 soundtrack it just gives me nostalgia that reminds me of 2015 summers -- sitting inside on my xbox with my friends raiding to level 30 with VOG and Crota's End as I was preparing for middle school. A time like that truly was so peaceful.
No UA-cam comment can explain how I miss and generally feel about Destiny. I loved it through the good and the bad.
This makes me really want to go back and start all over with this game and relive all those memories
To me, Destiny 1 had better world design, and I felt that the gun play was more enjoyable. The overall design of D1 was crispier than D2, if that makes sense. Destiny 2 just isn’t distinct along the edges as far as the graphics go.
Yeah, destiny 1 was better crafted in every way in my eyes. It's a shame it's abandoned
Slack Starfish81 destiny 1 had a unique art style that seemed to have been abandoned in d2 which really sucked!
Broose Wain yea for sure its not the same they copied the concept but the style got thrown out the window like our characters now basically all look the same there used to be a clear distinction between hunters slim sleek shape titans robot halo spartan looking armour and warlocks robes now they all look similar take the new seasons armour for example too similar ngl i wish we could get the classic armour back like the stuff u got levelling up in year 1
The music man....the D1 music gets me everytime.
Remember in vanilla destiny when warlocks could push your teammates (off the map)
Sad that I can never relive these times.
Joined the franchise a week before House of Wolves. Year 1 was definitely the best and I wish Destiny stayed that way.
Honestly I gotta say, sometimes I feel that way too
Bro that's exactly when I started playing
Always loved Year 1 Destiny, finally someone made a comprehensive video covering it. Especially Year 1 multiplayer I think it was the most balanced and fun the multiplayer has ever been.
I was here for destiny since day 1. And everyday I get more and more depressed realizing trials of Osiris will never be coming back to destiny 1....
It's back sadly :)
Maurice_1 back in destiny 2....
@@stepwise2765 Yes? bruh
@@stepwise2765 and it's just not as good original d1 trials. Loot sucks. The lighthouse isn't cool in my opinion. Hmu if anybody trying to run d1 stuff!
Crazy to think about the end of something. We will never once be able to play destiny 1 trials ever again for the rest of our lives and the universe
To check the lore don’t forget to go online and see the codex for more information
david gonzalez right!
Man I’d just like to say this made me kinda emotional this game brought so much happiness to me and to see these things brought back up made me happy also great video my man keep it uo
thank you! glad you liked it and could connect to it!
Played this game from 6th grade to 9th grade, no breaks. Frick homework. Destiny is more important.
I also put off many things so I could play this game a lot
Idk man it's just crazy to see the game take such a dumb turn
godzi11a 2000 destiny 2 really has been a letdown. Especially pre forsaken when myself and many of my friends quit the game entirely
Destiny felt so mysterious! In some places especially cut content felt like a crime scene and the raids were so good everyone had to know what to do
Man, you described my love and history with this game
I dont know what it is, but whenever I see some sort of old D1gameplay, I get a strange feeling inside me. I like it
Dude, supporting not stalking, but your channel needs more exposure.
Oh man if I could go back to 2014 and replay d1 for the first time. Man. I miss that shit
Played from start to finish of d1 those were the days :’)
How you in 8th grade 6 years ago and only now being a junior in high school, its 6 years between 6th grade and 12th or a senior in highschool.
Jacob Kardelis I wasn’t a good student for my “first” 8th grade.
Nicholas same I played Destiny with my friends so much during middle school but we ended up moving to the city right over after 8th grade and I didn’t go to their school so now that I’m a Junior, I haven’t really talked to them much. We sometimes rarely play games but it’s not the same
A huge key to the vanilla destiny experience was the music. When they fired Marty O'Donnell, Bungie lost a huge part of destiny's early identity.
November Hotel: makes video about destiny 1 vanilla
Everyone liked that
I love you for making this video.
wow almost brought me to tears .. destiny was my favorite man miss those days grinding all day with no worries because i had no responsibilities lol game was so great destiny 2 just doesn’t do what this game did for me smh
wish this game just kept getting updates instead of getting a sequel
Absolutely agree dude.
My friends quit after y1 destiny 2 so I stopped too it isn't fun anymore and it let me down I know it's a bit better now but without the friends it'a not the same
Man destiny 1 was one of the best games created
Mike Wheeler no doubt
It’s an opinion that can be debated upon but I have to agree
Def in my top 5. 100% the most fun I’ve ever had in a game though.
not really it was honestly the most dissapointing game in history
Xeno Bell I do believe a lot of people are triggered, especially by your opinion
8:10 Bungie hiding the next year’s antagonist in plain sight lol
Jon Iund where? What antagonist?
Ronny Dripp the hunters name is oryx, the main antagonist of the taken king.
omg haha
Crota, son of oryx... He was never hidden...
I played the beta then I didn’t comeback until the house of wolves it was so much fun it was the best game I played on my 360
That intro gave me straight chills, nothing compares to destiny 1.
D1 was very special indeed
as a player joined right after vog launched i can wholeheartedly say this is my favorite game(s) and has been a great experience to be a part of especially as a younger player and that experience and influence from the people along the way have helped shape me into the person i am today. the memories i made along the way will, i hope, stick with me for the rest of my life and i won’t stop playing the game until it’s done
I just lay down and stare at the ceiling and think wow destiny has come that far also i miss doing raids and nightfalls with my friends 😫😭😭
i still play d2 but its not even close to d1 at all i wanna cry
- A - M - and thats facts D1 just hits diff especially when you remember playing at 10 yrs old likee whatttt its been soo long
Watching this at 2am...
Everything you said and the clips you showed in this video made me remember the epic moments that I had and the friends I have met along the way.
I feel like crying, this game was so good.
Someone: *talks shit about destiny*
Destiny community: *reload gjallarhorn* now, turn around and band over.
But.. the ones who talk shit about Destiny are the same Destiny players
Diego219 facts. I talk the most shit on Destiny and I got bith ganes day 1.
This was incredibly in depth! It makes me miss Destiny vanilla days. Also, my brother is in the photo at 0:29 in the white shirt in the middle
no way! that's awesome dude!
d1 was a large part of my experience with games.
AAAAAAGGGHHHHHH 5 YEARS OF MY LIFE
Content producers like yourself and Byf have done a ton for the game too. I have the game on PC overseas, haven't had the time or the XBox One here while teaching during the pandemic, but content like yours is keeping my interest. Thanks for that.
Such a magical experience
Agreed
The taken king was probably the happiest I’ve been in my life, I’ve never felt anything like that before or since
I came across destiny 1 music and listening to it brought back major memories.. and due to that and my nostalgia for destiny 1 and love for it I keep coming back back to destiny 2... I just can't let it down this game has taken place in my life since it's launch
I love this game so much.
I remember playing the demo back in 2 Grade and my dad bought it for me a little after. We both fell in love with it and I put over 4000 hours into it and stopped playing d1 in 6th Grade. I am in 10th Grade now looking back on all the good times I had on it.
It was good because gear was actually rare and difficult to acquire… D2 just barfs gear at you. Rarity doesn’t even matter in D2
True
For me I only played Destiny 2 after Shadowkeep launched and it felt so good to be welcomed with open arms. It may not be Destiny 1.. but it feels like home.
