This song is a folk song from Jiangxi about the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, which was the military wing of the Communist Party of China from 1928-1937. The Red Army was mostly comprised of peasants, farmers and relatives which gave rise to this song.
This particular cover was sang by 中央乐团合唱团 (Choir of the Central Orchestra)
