I was an avid collector of everything GDR, RDA, DDR in my youth before the military coup in Chile. Can not believe seeing Luis Corvalan in the middle of it! Greetings from Chile!
Erich Honecker, one of the last, and arguably most important leaders of the DDR died, and was buried in Chile. The Germans invested quite a lot into the Allende regime.

Really cool to hear, its also a really popular song in the Netherlands (version is called rapalje). Would have never known that there are so many versions of the song! It apparently has its origins in Brittany (France).
I once asked a german friend for a drinking song, she started singing this one.. imagine how surprised I was as a breton speaker : I used to learn "ton ar sistr" at school!
In the Netherlands the version is called "Wat zullen we drinken", and it is performed by Rapalje and of course, by others.

Он в 70-е годы служил в ГДР в нашей советской разведроте и он рассказывает, что их гоняли гораздо больше чем мотострелков и он до сих пор свободно говорит на немецком и очень хорошо отзывается о восточных немцах!
Может быть, я мог бы помочь вам. Мой отец служил в НВА (восточногерманской армии). К сожалению, я не могу правильно понять перевод вашего комментария.

И им такими не дали стать после октябрьской революции в России 1917 года, задавив в Германии многие различные коммунистические массовые выступления и тд и тп, в том числе и известную коммунистическую революцию в 1923 году, в октябре, в Гамбурге...
Да и Карл Маркс с Фридрихом Энгельсом были немцы...
