I'm back on Fool Us! ua-cam.com/video/1kjMM33uVaw/v-deo.html
watching this in 2021, awesome to hear dude!
Oh cool!!
You are phenomenal and absolutely hilarious. Thank you for sharing your gifts and personality with the world!
By far the funniest comedy magic I’ve ever seen! Loved it my guy
Glad I came back to watch this. Time to enjoy your new act :D
If Disney ever makes a real life ratatouille movie, he should totally be cast as that chef dude

Those cheeses were pre shuffled
It's just a rigged deck
No they were marked guys, get your heads out of your butts
Naaah, He just got a Wall-Hack.
pre-cut
Jokes aside. He just took 2 slices of cheese from his deck when he gave it to him and told him to hide it. And he just kept it palmed with the hand alongside his body away from the camera.
The trick was a beginner trick, but the overall performance was great. I don't care if I see their moves at all if they are funny enough.
Dude nailed it. I'd rather be entertained than fooled any day.
This. And unlike so many of the magicians on the show who *try* to be funny but are really terrible actors, he's effortlessly funny. It doesn't feel forced or fake at all.
How about entertained and fooled at the same time 😏
yesss exactly!
@JamesGiantPeach It doesn't help that the trick isn't that hard to pick up on. Even if you miss him palming the cheese, the "I heard 2" was a pretty lazy force.
Absolutely right!!
He is literally a professional dork. And hes really good at what he does
Steve Erkel has notn' on this guy.
Guess I gotta get professional
I was waiting for him to hold up the slice and say, “is this your curd?”
That would have been gouda !!/:)
Thats not verry mature

@johnnytheprick Because Wisconsin is known for producing Cheese and he was shuffling the cheese like a deck of cards.

This dude was born to be on stage or in front of cameras. A true entertainer.
If magic doesn't work, comedy will. Really funny dude.
Was going to say the same thing.
or rap
The magic worked too, it just didn't fool two comedy legends.
@@inflago i am no legends in magic but if you pay close attention you can notice when he made the switch. (As he said you can go back to your spot at 3:55) Thats when he removed 2 slices and proceeded to give him the remaining 8 to the guy.
Then notice how his right arm never left the side of his body concealing the 2 slices (you wont see them but assume they are there :D) until 4:36 in which ,again he drops the other 2 into the other pile (and you can see its a bigger stack at that point!) Thats why he said (i heard 2) when clearly 3 was the most shouted at him (he already had made the switch.
The trick didnt fool me altough it was well executed, but, he is indeed quite the comedian!

Vegas, if you're listening, this man needs his own show.
JB! While I maybe have your highlighted attention! I legit love this act. I know you do some contortion stuff too, but comedy, humor and quick wit is what makes this memorable. I do sincerely think your act on a Vegas stage would be a perfect fit. Tape Face and Piff have come from similar beginnings and I think you'd sell tickets fast. When that day comes, please remember to save me a seat in the front row 😉 Also, I think you know Eric Dittelman? We went to college together and he's how I got hooked on AGT and P&T. Another hard worker deserving of the big stage! Much love man, keep it up!
7:04 _"I thought you were on house arrest"_ most underrated moment lmao
“Pick a number between 1 and 5”
Everybody: “3!”
“I heard 2”
Hilarious. He would have officially heard "2" no matter what anyone shouted.
That’s what I was thinking! 😂
Does it rlly matter. Its not always about how good the magic is, it's about how good the show is.
It was a joke. Everyone said 3. So he said 2 for a laugh which he got. He is a comedian magician
Jay Es No, he said 2 so his magic routine would work.
8:57 " _the idea of doing cards across, as cheese across, is pretty _*_grate_* " - Penn

Pretty SHARP
That was pretty cheesy of penn and Ben
Wow
First cheesy pun in comments. Congratulations.
Note. Cheesy gag is sickening.
His style, timing and showmanship is PERFECTION! Great Magician and INCREDIBLE Performer! I watch this clip periodically to remind myself to enjoy Life a little more!🤗
Fooled or not, comedic magicians always will have a place in my heart. It's the purest form of magic, imo. Not just there to wow a crowd, but to be the highlight of the audience's day/week.
The magic was okay, but the act was impeccable. Very entertaining
This is what i like. I dont care if i dont see the trick. He have the package to deliver a great show.
His style of humor was especially perfect for the act (and just good in general). Late reply here, but I just watched it.
Also in general, I feel like fooling Penn and Teller shouldn't even be the main thing, when you have someone like this guy performing. Cuz every theatre in Vegas is probably gonna tell the guy to fuck off since he performed "poorly" on the show, even though he deserves his own show. They should've made the Penn and Teller thing a *mix* between fooling them, and just overall entertaining them.
Granted, there's plenty of shitty acts, so I get it -- but this guy wasn't one of them.
It still depends on how many tricks he can do, but even just his jokes could carry most of the show, and he's good at improvising too. Though I still can't tell when he exchanges the cheese, so for me, it's still a cool trick.
@@matthewdekker6064 if you pay attention you can see it. I didn't catch it the first time, but as soon as Penn said he had the audience in the palm of his hands I figured it out. And since then I have been able to spot it.
@@flowerdolphin5648 exactly. I know how it was done, but doesn't matter. It was the best performance of that trick i've ever seen
Some of these people probably know for a FACT that Penn and Teller wont fall for it, I mean hell this seems like a really well known act. But they do it because its an honor to even be there and it must be brilliant publicity :)
Yea, but how did Jonathan find which slice of cheese the woman put back in to the stack!? P&T never explained that one!
Seriously... All of them were identical and that was the joke/trick. His much as comedian if not more than magician. Later trick was basic card swap, but made much more difficult due it not being cards but cheese. Nothing major, just needed lots of practice first with cards and the swapping that technique to cheese.. dear god that guy must use lots of cheese..
@@Hellsong89 but dude how can he tell which cheese it was she had since they were all identical it made it much harder than gay cards
@@Hellsong89 But he picked out the same one she chose? 🤔
omg so many r/wooshes
@@Hellsong89 I found a genuine "one of those"...
For those that dont know: cards across is a popular card trick in which you create two piles of cards and instruct the 2 random audience members to stash them away. What they dont know is that the card piles have been modified by you RIGHT before they were instructed to hide the piles. It is done by palming the card piles before the hand off. As for the random number given from the audience, its not exactly random if you shout the number you want. The palming moments: 4:36 - 4:37 and 3:55
Well spotted 😆
This is hands down the funniest comedy routine I've ever seen on Fool Us and I've almost watched every episode.

The one with the tiny flat table and the roulette wheel of decks? I just finished watching that one, it was badass!

That "participation trophy" at the end there is just so funny!
This guy is a national treasure. Protect him. Cheese wiz had me down for the count.
Real magic is where he kept pulling wind chimes from 😂💯
I was hoping the cheese part was misdirection and the real trick was with the chimes.
How did he keep them quiet until he pulled them out? Like seriously impressive work just that alone
Came for the magic, stayed for the comedy
Taurin Wimberly u mean to say the magic was a letdown
Indeed, me too
Damn, that really is an excellent act! It feels like it's been 20 years since I've seen this kind of energy, so entertaining and aware, please keep it up!
I've watched this over 20 times since the time it was originally posted. I know exactly how the trick was done, yet I love to rewatch it over and over again. The best "performer" on P&T by far. He should have his own special.
Penn said it’s sleigh of hand. So he must have removed 2 slices to the guy’s stack and added 2 from the girl’s stack, after when he was counting to 10 and before he handed the stack to them. Some signs are like how he was fondling the stacks in his hands after they got the “10” slice of cheese.
He asked the audience a number between 1-5, but he was always gonna pick 2 anyway. If he got one audience to pick a number, then he would need to change the routine to do the sleigh of hand right before they reveal the stacks.
I love that he even had a joke prepared for the end.
Totally unexpected, and hit the mark!
Look at Teller laughing and applauding :D
This guy could be a stand up comedian, actor, magician, all sorts of things. He's really good, a great entertainer.
Craig Nevermind at 9:10 watch how he shakes his head no over and over. He is lieing about him being good. It was a very obvious trick that wasn't even designed for the participants because they both knew exactly what had happened when he handed them the cheese.
Hey Craig I was going to make a comment but...Nevermind ;)
mrgreeneye656
Thanks for cringing me out
I think he expected that he will not win :D he put up a very entertaining show but not an original trick
true
I love how every Fool Us clip is on each magician's personal channel. Other programs would often have all the clips on their own channel, but not this one. That's an additional very sweet way for Penn & Teller to support the magicians on their show!
you post this on every video stfu already!

It may be a simple trick that anyone could figure out. But the performance is top notch it’s phenomenal. This guy has the spirit of a brilliant entertainer. And that’s what matters most here.
This guy actually reminded me of Alfredo linguini from rattitouille especially at the beginning where he was in the kitchen

Watched it three times in a row and I'm not done yet. Everything is absolutely perfect in this trick. The trick itself is simple but what's built around it is just incredible, I love the humour and the spontaneity of Jonathan :DDD

You could tell that Penn and Teller really respected how good Jonathan is at showmanship. Even though he didn’t fool them, they loved every part of his act
OUTSTANDING! I enjoyed every moment of this performance! He was even helping Alison out
This has to be my favorite act on this show. The guy is a legitimate comedian and it showed.
The 'magic' is only a small part in a large act, remember this should be entertaining as well as 'mystifying' I think he got the balance spot-on!
i’m not so sure. i saw the move pretty much right when he did it, and once i saw it, i kept thinking “wow this is a lot of show for a pretty mediocre party trick.” i think he spent a little too much time on the comedy bit and too less on the magic bit lol
@@osmoticmonk I think the majority vote says you're wrong on this one, judging by the studio audience, Penn and Teller themselves, the couple thousand people who liked the video, a lot of the viewers at home who watched this on television... Etc.
It's a pretty funny act and it will distract most people enough that they won't notice what's going on until it's far too late, which is ultimately what most of magic is. It's a performance art and this guy has the performance totally down.
@@AiOinc1 Yeah, but this is fool us. The aim is to make penn and teller got fooled. Entertaining, yes.

It's so deliberate and confident. As Penn said, great act!
When he whispered "It's working!" - I burst out laughing hard!
That chick must have been a bit nervous....
You are so amazing, you already knew you weren't going to fool them with cheese across, but instead you wanted to make it a really funny and entertaining performance, and the trick was just a part of that, you're a genius.
I never knew somebody could make being stillborn look pleasurable till I read the first reply
@Intelligence Injection It still fooled me -- I agree that it wouldn't fool Penn and Teller, and that's the point of the show, but this guy was more entertaining than most of the acts I've seen on the show. Though I'm kinda new to it and have only seen a handful of the best acts. He still stands out as one of the funniest.
True magic entertainment is when you can make people who aren’t feeling that good in themselves at the point of watching and get them to smile and chuckle a bit. He certainly did that! He was fab👍

only one trick, but yeah :D
They loved it too and it shows. I doubt he really expected to fool them; it's a very old trick. Since the point of the program is really to showcase "up and comers", I'm sure he's happy with the appreciation - just getting on that stage is great; getting both of them to laugh and clap is gravy.
Dead on, MrJest2. They also invite "ringers" they're pretty sure will be able to pull one over on them so that people can see the grand masters at work. Go watch the Richard Turner one for an example.

How am I just now seeing this? Absolutely wonderful performance. Perfect blend of Comedy and magic. Keep up the amazing work.
If you pay close attention, he adds the two extra slices of cheese to her pile he was palming at 4:36. He distracts the audience by drawing attention to her and asking if she would like to take a bow.
Did not catch that, good eyes.

I caught it the first time itself. So obvious.
Also at 3:56 he started to keep his right hand hidden after he gave the first "10" back, although I wasn't completely sure until he enforced it after the bow he made unnecessary comment about how many slices of cheese were in a pack after that it was over. He did really good with his humor and misdirection, to be able to hold onto a crowd like that was awesome he's got talent
@@ijazhaniffa hey this funny guy's magic trick involving slices of cheese is obvious!
