Not for sure, but I think I suspect how he did it. Secret compartment in back of loveseat so he basically rolls thru out the back easily when couch is first closed and he is concealed, then he slips his hand out from a secret sleeve in the "straightjacket" while still having hands and arms behind back, to throw the cereal, keys, etc... As soon as the slow hand pulls in and the "EMT" comes out, he simply ducks behind the cardboard box barricade used as stage dressing and runs to the left behind stage to pop out from boxes on the right. Anywhere near close?
There are some tricks where it's like, I already know what you did and now you're just waving your hands around. Burns does performances where you could help him set it up and it's still funny to see him do it
You're the only magician whose routines I watch more than once, not to try and figure it out, but for the enjoyment of the experience. You're an entertaining dude.

Penn gave it away when he said double action. Which most likely means that there was a double behind the couch from the start. hijm getting to the other side of the room tho i have no clue. probably a secret passage somewhere
@@shush665 Yeah I can see everything else, but apparently you gotta reach the reappearing side moving on plain sight, but there might be something that was cut off on edit. There is one other option though, and that is that he is behind the couch all the time and he has a real twin
I think that “double action” was referring to the fact that the couch is most likely a cloning machine. The Jonathan that appears from the side stage is a clone, and, the old Jonathan gets dropped behind the couch into a water tank to drown. There was a trick like this in The Prestige. That’s how the method was explained in the movie.

@@Moley1Moleo Penn code is not required. It's a classic of all escapes.
