This is one of the COOLEST VR accessories I've ever seen. I've done real archery for years. It would be so fun to be able to play this at home. Thank you for sharing!
I am so glad you like it! It's so much fun to use. I've had the chance to try their larger recurve bow as well, but this smaller/easier to use bow is perfect for gaming :)
Wow!!! Things are getting better for VR accessories every day. Thanks for showing this VR Bow accessory. I have a couple of games that shoot arrows in VR but always used two hand controllers to simulate the bow. Thanks for the video. Take care.
Right??? I can't wait for the day when 3rd party software/SDK integration becomes smooth and it gets easier for more games to implement compatibilities like this :)
I loved the idea of adding reins to a bike! The bow looks pretty interesting although the price is hard to justify if it doesn't work in more games. Great video overall
@@VikingPrincessVR I've played a lot of Sairento and In death unchained but currently I am playing Medievel Dynasty. If a game has archery I have probably played it. Saints and Sinners had a great bow too! I'm looking forward to Behemoth !
can you make a video of you using it in death unchained? id get it if you can move. from this ad i just dont see how I can press any buttons to move on the controller.
Great point! As I describe in the video, the SDK is still in development and currently being implemented into the first game, Tiny Archers. So as of right now, the integration doesn't exist, but that is the goal and hope for the future. In Death: Unchained is also developed in Unreal Engine, if I'm not mistaken, so it would take even longer for it to have the integration as compared to Unreal games (Like Eleven Assasin). But I will be on top of any integration coming out and keep you updated!
I'm not running out to buy this yet, but this is super interesting. I'd probably use it with in death unchained. But they might need a new method for selecting arrow type in that game for this to work well.
I mention the Quest 3 towards the end. It does connect really well, but as you can see in the video, there's currently an issue with the tracking which is leading to some random drifts. But they are working on a solution for this, so I assume it will be fixed before the final version of the VR attachment ships (only up for pre-order at the moment).
It would be so much fun!! I know the Quest 3 integration is now done and the first game to feature a full integration of the bow was released last week. I'm working on a review - it will be out on the 30th!
I think I watched your first video on this product and asked about VR integration. I'm happy to see it's coming along (slowly)! For now I'm making do with (this will sound crazy) bungee cords attached to my wrists and a vest to add resistance to my bow games (I came up with it when I was playing In Death Unchained exclusively for months. Seemed a shame not to get some benefit from it). This product would obviously be so much better though!
Right? I am so excited to see this finally coming along! Can't wait to see it in more games! And that sounds hilarious 😂Amd very creative!!! I would love to see a picture of that some time!
@@VikingPrincessVR (My reply keeps getting deleted, so apologies if you see it multiple times. Last try.) I was going to make a video but I'm not great in front of the camera. :) I was inspired by the Quell system, if you've seen that. I made a DIY version with a back posture brace, wrist cuffs with D rings, and bungee cords with balls (for camping and tarps). It ain't pretty but it works!
What's the draw weight on that thing? And, if it's more than 10 lbs or so, how do they mitigate the 'impact' of the rapid stop of the arrow at the handle and its implication for this device to self-damage itself from normal use?
The draw weight is about 10 lbs. There is a big feather stop inside the tube that dampers the impact of the arrow. You can see when slowing down the footage that the arrow bounce back quite far. The impact is not very noticeable :)
Looks good if I was into archery. I want to go the opposite way and go controller free with hand tracking so I can do boxing workouts without having to grip something the whole time. By the way, Viking Princess, I’m finally getting into a routine with Fit XR. Unfortunately, I have a business trip for 2 weeks starting 10 days from now so I’ll have to get back into the routine again in late June. At least I’m finally getting more exercise these days.
The company that made the ow sponsored the video, yes. But they do not control what I say or the content of the video. I would never lie for a sponsor and I turn down any sponsors that I don't believe in or has a product or game that I don't like or can't with a clear conscience recommend.
Limited to archery, yes. But I think of it the same way as a gun stock or my extended golf grip. They are also Limited to shooters or golf games, and to games that incorporate the option of calibrating to a golf club. But using them make VR golf sooooo much better and more fun! So it just depends on what kind of games you play :)
So now my test of the bow..... Absolute rubbish, sorry..... totally immature and unplayable..... Why on earth is the bow always drawn in VR, even though it isn't drawn in real life? You're basically always reaching into empty space because you think the string is further back. The bow has a special detection feature to tell whether it is drawn and how far, but that isn't used in the game at all. They left out exactly what would have made it fun. 2. There should at least be a difference in the flight calculation whether I have drawn it fully or only halfway, but the arrow always flies the same distance, so it's completely unrealistic. I don't understand how you can recommend something like that to people without blushing, sorry, I thought you were neutral... I can only give an absolute warning, you'd rather throw your money out the window than invest in this bow, it's a disgrace and I think it's even worse that something like that is supported by the meta. Has anyone actually tested it? 3. The bow makes so much noise that everyone in the house complained, it rattles and cracks constantly. The bow could have been made much quieter, it is very cheaply made and just cheap plastic. Unfortunately you can't return the thing, 160 euros for the rubbish, a real shame, in future I will wait until you can get something like this on Amazon so I can return it.
@argonigus853 This review was made before the bow was integrated into Tiny Archers. If you watch the video, you'll notice that is a review of the hardware of the bow and the possibilities this could have in the future. I have since tried the bow with Tiny Archers and I am preparing a review of it. But as you pointed out - the mechanism isn't well integrated yet - which is on the game developers to do, not the bow makers. I expressed my concern to the bow makers and they have assured me the developers are working on a fix/improvement of the integration. I'm still waiting for news that it has been completed.

Completely get it. I just hope it gets momentum so more game developers want to implement it and hopefully with more units sold the price can go down
That seems pretty cool. May have to look into that more.
There's so much potential! I can't wait to see where it will go :)
if I could play Skyrim vr with this then that would be sick
right???
My son sent me the link to this because I play VR (and PC) games with them regularly and if theres an archer option, thats me everytime! Very cool!
That's awesome! Which is your favorite VR archery game?

When this can be hooked up to Skyrim VR... I'll be in there like swimwear as an assassin build

Yeah, definitely some more integration needed for more complex games. But super excited about the possibilities!
This is so cool. Im interested but does it work with quest 3? I see she wore quest 2 in the video

Cool idea,i love archery but over £100 is abit steep
I get that. And it's still early development. But it is a much more complicated accessory than most stocks and attachments :)
This looks cool but sadly that looks expensive :(
There's a deal on them now since they are early access. But yes, more complications and integration usually means more expensive:/
