Great overview on both apps. I have used both and you nailed the similarities and differences between the two. Currently, I have been using Supernatural, mainly because of the music. I switch my days between running and lifting weights, and running and playing supernatural. It’s a great combo.
That sounds like a great combo! I do something similar myself :) Have you checked out the new FitXR update? I'm not sure I like the new lobby, but love how easy it is to find classes now!
@@VikingPrincessVR I haven’t interacted with the new updates but it’s nice to see they are improving the experience. Finding classes were tricky so I’m glad to hear they improved that.
@@edgarvazquez7630 You would have to subscribe to each separately. Prices are at the end of the video :) There's also a bit of a discount if you get annual subscriptions instead of monthly
@@edgarvazquez7630 they both are monthly subscriptions. Supernatural is $9.99 a month. I’m not sure how much FitXR is a month. I think it’s a little more.
it's fairly different, since it's a one-time premium fee (not a subscription) and only offer one type of fitness classes. BUT! Ita my favorite! I have 4 or 5 reviews of that app on my profile that goes into detail :)
Supernatural is my Jam. I love dancing so much and I also love being told that I'm doing a great job. It really hits home on both fronts that keep me going. I had a 47 day streak going until I got sick. I still play 6 days a week, giving myself a day to rest and I've been stretching after every workout and that helps a lot.
🥲😢 From what I hear, FunFitLand is similar to Supernatural and available everywhere - but I haven't tried it myself so I can't say anything about the quality. If you're tech-savvy, then VPN'ing to North America is another way people outside of NA have been able to access Supernatural
Obviously, get both ^^. Seriously, at this price point it is like joining a gym for a month or two. That said, as a new user, I tested fit xr and the first two bummers were a) an angled setoff that does not follow the "reset view" from the oculus main menu and b) the lack of option for my own music. I hope there are mod options like for beatsaber, but that´s something I need to look into. Oh, and it would be super nice if these apps could bridge into samsung health, garmin connect and the lot, to become an integral part of my overall tracking.
Great video. I appreciate your highlighting the similarities and differences. I presume you are going to do one about Les Mills body combat. Part of me would have liked to have seen the comparison with these two, but I guess you can always do another one about Les Mills and then refer back to this one. I wish you well on your channel. It's looking fantastic so far 🙂.
I'm not going a comparison between Bodycombat and these apps at this time, as there's not a lot to compare. Bodycombat has one form of exercise and a one-time fee with less updates. I do however discuss Bodycombat XR in my "best VR fitness apps" videos, and I have several videos discussing the app in detail :)
Hi Dr. Tine, I really hope you can share some of your expertise and experience here 😅 I've been doing some training the last 2 weeks with FitXR and really loved it. But the last few days I've found out I have a sciatica, not always a pleasant experience finding new features in the body. Do you have any good advice? Kind regards Jens
I prefer Supernatural for a few reasons: (1) Licensed real music from artists I know. I can hear songs I want to hear instead of generic songs. Big motivation. (2) High resolution imagery of beautiful places to train, (3) Real images of coaches instead of animated, (4) boxing feels more natural to me as someone who trained in and taught kickboxing and martial arts for 40 years. Fit XR might be preferable to someone who likes the dancing features that I don't use. Both have great coaches but I prefer the real images in Supernatural. I don't use any teams features so that does not matter to me.
As someone who did MMA and dances (hip hop), I pick Supernatural for the same reasons. On the dance side, Flow is really fun bc you can add your own moves. ESPECIALLY if you know any footwork heavy styles like House
I am a huge Les Mills Fan 🙌 And I use the mats from Asterion - they are available on Amazon, and from what I have heard, they'll be releasing an upgraded version soon!
They are very similar in space requirements. The boxing/combat studios require the least space. Supernatural Flow classes have large arm movements, but you can turn off the 360-degree turning/moving around in the settings. I'd say you need enough space that you can stand up and reach your arms out to the side while turning round, as well as up over your head to be comfortable.
indirectly, they both do. Supernatural let's you set it up through the mobile app (watch connect to app which connect to headset) and you can see the graph on the class summary. But I've found it to be very unreliable in terms of connection
@@VikingPrincessVR Thanks, but the app is now paid, with a monthly and annual fee, and they promise to improve it. I’ll be looking forward to your review!"
Supernatural subscription can't be gifted, like the way you can gift a game app. There's also no way to remove your payment methods from your user account. It's even stated on the FAQ on their website. That's kinda sus.
Thoughtful, energetic review. I think I will start with FitXR.
Glad I was able to help :)
Have fun!

Can you play this while standing in one spot? Ie a very small studio apt
@@raymarks7430 There is a setting in Supernatural where you can select 1 lane or 3 lanes for small space to minimize movement.
