Well it’s a European brand, of course you’ll have an easier time to find an American brand like TM or a global powerhouse like Logitech. It’s your decision after all, the best sim engineering comes from Europe, it costs money to ship all of it and the duties are not their fault. Difference is that TM, just like Logitech is a powerhouse in terms of logistics compared to Fanatec. Even though Fanatec is much larger than a company like Moza, they are not present in any point of the globe, especially because their stuff is not cheap from the get go
I just bought the Logitech g923 with the shifter new for $100 less then the fanatec bundle. If I’m not too deep into sim racing and I just wanna play casually on a budget, is it really worth upgrading?
For fuck sake no. Use it , gain some experience, if you are okay with it keep it. If nah sell it and buy the fanatec, not that huge of a deal. You can also consider Moza steering wheel + bases, cause the wheels are aluminum and not plastic like fanatec. But I would recommend going for the CSL v2 pedals of fanatec, as I know moza 's pedals sucks.
Good to hear this, but still in my country isn't a viable option right now (unless you have deep pockets). Also, having no support in my country is a deal breaker because if something happens, you have to buy a new one. So, I gonna keep my G29 wheel for a long time.
Nope. Thrustmaster and Logitech both work on this thing called a Playstation. Fanatec only sells a much more expensive set for it. They aren't doing anything to anyone. They're just trying to stay alive with Moza cutting deep into their market share.
out-of-the-box console compatibility still a pretty strong argument for Logitech/Thrustmaster as an entry-level wheel if you can get them sub-$250, but I will say as someone who has finally gotten the hang of driving with a Logitech, a $400 price is probably one I'll be willing to pay for an upgrade in the next couple of years
DD is the way to go, believe me. Coming from a CSL Elite wheel bundle, that I purchased several years ago. I bought the gt7 combo with the McClaren GT wheel, and I can race on pc, xbox, and ps5.
400$, with the CSLDD base (great), with the most basic wheel of fanatec (only 14 buttons against 20 on the G923 and also G923 has a wheel switch and worst grip than G923), with the most basic fanatec pedals and no clutch (you'll have to spend 40$ more for the clutch, the peddals are same level than logitech ones, even a bit better) and no shifter (G923 bundles with shifter are arround 380$, and fanatec only offers one shifter that costs over 250$, which is ultimately the best shifter in the market but still expensive). So you're comparing a 400$ bundle that only offers better base, and in the rest it lacks of it or is the same quality than logitech, and yes you can upgrade, but fanatec still to expensive to be a friendly begginer ecosistem. I play rally games like dirt 2.0 as well as the F1 games, GT7 and asseto corsa, but I need a shifter for rally, and If I had to start on the fanatec ecosystem I would have spent at least with this bundle arround 700$ because of the shifter and the clutch pedal, and I will have a worse wheel. So I do not think this killed logitech, but I think It will make logitech lower their prices which will be a very good thing for sim racers.
Given that my CSL wheel failed for no reason, and also the plastic broke on the wheels because of poor build quality, I'm going to say, 'pass' I spent my money, so you don't have to.
I'm very disappointed with my Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro bundle. My wheel base went up in smoke a month after buying it. Can only speak with support via email and they are in Europe so a day passes between messages. They replaced the wheel base and booster kit but now the pedals don't work. For what I paid, I'd expect a more reliable product and more responsive customer care.
I have never had anything Fanatec die on me, and I have been using their products almost 5 years. And I have the same DD pro bundle, but I use my elite pedals with load cell, from my previous setup. So you sir are probably an anomaly. And the fact that their customer service was excellent by your own admission. Lots of company are not stationed in the US, so that is not extraordinary or nothing.
@@gertinewoord1887 yep. I'm really upset. Spent about $1,000 on new gear to "upgrade" and I've only gotten about a motnh's use. Right now it's all on its way back to Fanatec for the 2nd time b
I'm considering buying a wheel and maybe i'll settle for this bundle, I've had a lot of fun playing assetto corsa but only with a controller, and since i'm considering doing my first racing set up i couldn't help but notice you were driving on a office chair, which has wheels, how did you do it? did you buy wheel stoppers took the feet off, or did something else enterily? did you think that upgrading to a stationary chair is a must have or can an office chair be good enough for a while?

It's a weird position now, because according to their website if I want to buy just the base it's 500 for the base + boost thingy to have 8nm. But it's 500 as well if I want to have the pedals, wheel, and all of that combined. Wtf For me it's stupid because I have the clubsport V3s and I would have to spend more to get just the base. They should decrease the price of the stand alone base to like 299. Otherwise it makes no sense if you already have any other part

Meanwhile simagic or moza just took qr from real cars and have 0 problems with it.

@@Traumglanz cammus is worse than fanatec in everything, worst pedals, the shifters are worse than 100$ wheels, it overheats really quickly, its wheel diameter makes it "toyish" and no changing it option, no clutch pedal option or load cell for braking (so you have to spend 200$ more in the fanatec pedals or the tlcm ones) and shipping cost is more than 100$ making it cost the same as the fanatec ready 2 race bundle, so why to buy it.

im currently planning on replacing my g29. its been good but its way too loud and not great tbh. ik it wont be worth much but i already have a bit of money left around.
Im considering buying this, I have the csl elite v2 pedals already and it would come cheaper to buy this bundle with pedals included than buying the wheel and the base separately
Im totally new to racing sim, can someone explain to me how this is a better choice than the g920? (taking to considering that i really want a clutch and a shifter)
it would be the feel of the wheel. the direct drives feel much better. i have a g27 and most the time i dont use clutch/shifter. unless im just messing about or rally or drifting. if you just want to do flat out gt racing, or iracing you dont need the clutch or shifter, and it will make you slower. but having the clutch and shifter is nice for sure. you can practice heel and toe technique. i was able to use the things i learned from that in real life. a dd wheel wont make you any faster. it might give you a bit more confidence to push harder or catch slides, which is obviously better. in the end its an expensive hobby. the load cell brakes are probably the strongest upgrade you could get which will make the most difference. i would rather cheap wheel with vr or triples personally but im not an expert either.
Direct-drive wheels are on a different planet when it comes to the force feedback and the detail you can get from them. Simply put, you get a much better feeling for what the car does. Fanatec also has a good eco system, so there's a lot of extras you can buy and upgrade to later on
The g920 only outputs 2 nM of torque and is also gear driven. This wheel base outputs 5 nM of torque without a boost kit, and 8 nM with. That's a LOT more force so the resistance will feel more realistic. It's also direct drive instead of gear-driven, so it should feel smoother. You'll also be able to feel things like the car losing traction for example, the g920 really isn't capable of that
too bad my I bought my Direct Drive and CSL Universal hub (whose shifters broke and Fanatec has failed to provide any support for) before this bundle dropped
I wouldn't say destroyed as you still don't get the full package like Logitech.... Imo I'd like a clutch pedal of the bat yes I get fanetec is a superior wheel but if your going to put a product into lower end market area it needs to meet the same criteria imo however it sill is value for money....
Fanatec dd pro is great. Just got it recently. But I can't seem to get center detail. The powersteering kicks in on brake load or suspension load in forza horizon 5. Kinda causing my nerves in my arms to tense up. After I'm done playing it kinda feels tingly etc. Anyone else have this problem?

@@drchtct TM might be originally from Oregon, but it was bought in 1999 before even making sim racing stuff (they started making joysticks for flight games). It's HQ is in France. Doesn't matter where it was originally from, the HQ is in France and the point was that the stuff is exported from Europe.
@covidcarl7480 put your mask back on pal
Not in LATAM… Sadly for us the shipping is too expensive to get any wheel. Even the Logitech g29 is expensive. 😢😢
love fanatec, 400 for the wheelbase, wheel and pedals, 350 for the base only
Capitalism!
@@driderv53 yes but it's ridiculous
Yeah, 430 EUR + 30 shipping + 80 tax = 540 EUR - doesn`t look like t300 killer if you`re on a budget)
In my case the T300RS GT is a better option as I'm a drifter not a circuit racer. The cost is also less and more beginner friendly
out-of-the-box console compatibility still a pretty strong argument for Logitech/Thrustmaster as an entry-level wheel if you can get them sub-$250, but I will say as someone who has finally gotten the hang of driving with a Logitech, a $400 price is probably one I'll be willing to pay for an upgrade in the next couple of years
$150 is such a small difference in price for a huge upgrade to direct drive
DD is the way to go, believe me. Coming from a CSL Elite wheel bundle, that I purchased several years ago. I bought the gt7 combo with the McClaren GT wheel, and I can race on pc, xbox, and ps5.
I can't even afford a 280$ logitech wheel let alone a 400$ fanatec one
Given that my CSL wheel failed for no reason, and also the plastic broke on the wheels because of poor build quality, I'm going to say, 'pass'
I spent my money, so you don't have to.
I race on a second hand logitech g29 for over 3 years now and not once had a problem whith it.that says enough i think.
@@gertinewoord1887 yep. I'm really upset. Spent about $1,000 on new gear to "upgrade" and I've only gotten about a motnh's use. Right now it's all on its way back to Fanatec for the 2nd time b
@@bumpsy2358 well, if you Google Fanatec smoke or similar you'll find that I'm not the only one.
I've just bought used setup today: trustmaster t300, 3 pedals, th8a shifter and cockpit for 500 bucks
No regrets
I can't order direct from fanatec to deliver in south africa. The dealers here charge way to much. Any help please?
no love for the playstaion user, the price of the DD GT is too high :(
new thrustmaster with 3 pedals is 250 euros
I'm considering buying a wheel and maybe i'll settle for this bundle, I've had a lot of fun playing assetto corsa but only with a controller, and since i'm considering doing my first racing set up i couldn't help but notice you were driving on a office chair, which has wheels, how did you do it? did you buy wheel stoppers took the feet off, or did something else enterily? did you think that upgrading to a stationary chair is a must have or can an office chair be good enough for a while?
Great, except the gap between the cheapest gt dd (ps compatible) bundle is now 300 dollars? Sheesh..
I just ordered one a couple of days ago. Should be here next week. Super pumped.
and the cool thing about that wheel is you can get an upgradede power unit that almost doubles the nm for 100.
Yeah Fanatec could have killed the competition if only the CSL DD was RELIABLE. A-lot of problems
only thing that stops me getting this over the Thrustmaster or lg is the fact if you live in th euk you wil lhave to pay custom fee
400$ for that is crazy, fanatec doesnt even seem to be shipping orders or their products dont last more than 2 months, ill keep my blender sounding steering wheel and my clutch thanks
Also keep in mind this guy is connected to them, so dont take his opinion as 100% accurate and come to your own conclusion.
would be nice if my csl pedals gas pedal didn't stop working a month after i got it and i see no fix from support other than buying a new gas pedal
Its getting cheaper because it breaks… dont bite the hook. The Quick Release is expensive and they sell you even a screw plus shipping for that single screw… or a PS for the 8NM Mode… for another 150 USD plus Shipping. I went for the Logitech, absolut high end product.
I literally got a perfectly working g920 with pedals and a new Logitech shifter for 190 Eur
My setup is mint.
I use a cheap camping chair with a cheap camping table with a Keyboard and mouse. I really feel immersion the like no other. 🤣😂😂
It's a weird position now, because according to their website if I want to buy just the base it's 500 for the base + boost thingy to have 8nm. But it's 500 as well if I want to have the pedals, wheel, and all of that combined. Wtf
For me it's stupid because I have the clubsport V3s and I would have to spend more to get just the base. They should decrease the price of the stand alone base to like 299. Otherwise it makes no sense if you already have any other part
for me there is one problem... I have PS5 and want to use wheel console, not only PC so...
Isn’t this 399 bundle only compatible with PC according to the Fanatec website ? I thought only the 699 bundle is compatible with PlayStation ?
I need advice please guys should i go for the Fanatec CSL DD 5nm without loadcell pedals, Thrustmaster T300 ferrari 599x evo edition, or Thrustmaster T248? Thanks I will read all responses. I have never owned a wheel and im super into racing games. My budget is about £400/$500/€460
I wish they would cut the price on dd pro aswell. Only difference is Playstation Support.
And Cammus gave them the grace shot with the C5 bundle...
$400 is still waaay to expensive for me!
I bought one of these 2 months ago and it still hasn’t shipped. So much for having it in time for Christmas 🤦♂️.
should i grab th fanatec CSL DD ready to rac or moza r5 bundle
I actually hate that I bought a Simagic setup ~a month ago when I was pondering my options. The 100€ price drop would definitely have pushed me to Fanatec.
Why? The Simagic wheels quality is so much better and even the strength of the base feels so much better (I have both).
@@Bambeakz I mean, I like my Simagic, but was it worth spending 2 times what I would have spent on Fanatec with this price drop ? Probably not.
@@fabienlarvor8283so much more worth it. There’s so many horror stories out there about Fanatec bad customer service. I def would rather go with the simagic
Simagic mini 10 times better than fanatec dd pro. Simagic got top top steering wheels, when fanatec steering wheel is cheap like Logitech g29. Simagic got better QR, and more powerful wheelbase. Even If I had to chouse between simagic mini and fanatec dd with this price I would still go for simagic. Fanatec nowadays can only make old overpriced stuff. They didn't release anything new for almost 2 years already. Only promises. And they still have their sht QR and can't release qr2 for like 2 years already. Meanwhile simagic or moza just took qr from real cars and have 0 problems with it.
@@superstar5042ppl be capping lmaooo. Nah this price is a game changer let's be real.
Cheapest set for ps5 is 699 €. Got nothing on logitech or thrustmaster in the starter range.
Not in the uk, it’s still like £420 after import taxes are added on for the csl dd ready to race bundle
thank you, i'll go for the 550€ bundle (5nm + mclaren wheel + table clamp), i don't want to spend too much money, if i listened to others, i'm imeddiately spending 300€ more on LC pedals and boost kit, i dont think i need that as a newbie who has never owned a wheel... btw for comparison, in my country g29 can be had for around 250€, i rather spend 2x that and have a proper setup
And Simagic both killed Fanatec, Moza, and Simucube XDD
any thoughts on the new cammus c5 wheel? how does it stand compared to the fanatech wheel?
After looking at Jardier's Fanatec wheel crumbling away recently on a stream. I have to say Fanatec is cheaply made with a hefty price tag.
I'm not gonna lie mate but not everybody who has a wheel wants to go direct drive. I have a g29 and it is perfect in my room, gives me a good enough experience, isn't too powerful, it's so reliable it's unreal and it does what I want it to do. The idea that everyone who loves simulation driving games only don't go the direct drive route because of cost is an error in my eyes...
is this bundle compatible with ps4/5? or do i really need to buy the playstation official bundle which is much expensive that i want to spend?
Wouldn't the PXN V12 bundle be a better choice ??
Too expensive for a beginner
I agreed as a thrustmaster owner, comparing to a TG-II to this is a joke.
No shifter, no clutch, so no, they did not change the game
which "game" or sim is that, where u driving at. What is Shutoku? thanks^^
I just ordered the 8nm and was planning to use it on my desk due to lack of space for a full sim setup, but I didn’t realise the desk clamp was so janky… hopefully it’ll be fine if I stay away from drifting
any update on this? im looking to pick up the 5nm version but im still kinda worried because my desk is a bit on the flimsier side
@@dexterr727 I think you’ll be alright, I haven’t had any problems with mine yet. Just really tighten it and make sure the rubber stoppers on the underside of the desk are flat
Se sabe si el csl dd pro vendra algun dia con el qr2 de serie?? Ahora mismo viene con el qr1 y hay que comprar el qr2 por separado
Seems like they changed the prices, cause just the base is $450 for me, or $799 with wheel and pedals. edit: im stupid, its $399, if Icheck the right bundle.
Unfortunately for me as an Xbox x player this bundle is not compatible unless I spend more for a different wheel that is compatible
Add the McLaren rim and you're at the old price but one wheel for GT and one for Rally
Fanatec feeling the Moza pinch I feel. I would buy neither.
Why Not? Both have a very competitive and atractive price
@@driderv53 Because I'm A Simagic FanBoy. Also, If I was thinking of entering the now DD sim wheel rabbit hole, I wouldn't start at the entry level. It's a slipperly slop to wanting more, and you will feel the need to upgrade sooner rather than later.
They still sell gimmicky 1 year lasting toy wheels for 300 in Amaignant.
So, can i mix my logitech g29 pedals and shifter with this fanatec direct drive wheel?
Sadly no.
I dream about importing an DD, but with all taxes adding up in brazilian government I dont think I'll buy one living around here.
Moza has r5 bundle with a better wheel built in quick release. And a cheap brake improvement and clutch. And a table mount with the bundle. Moza is just better I think
Is it compatible for Xbox1 and to use through drivehub if not?
Looks like im going Fanatec, was debating other DDS but you cannot beat Fanatec's price.
Cammus C5 just released. Apparently you can beat Fanatec's price. 299 for a 5NM DD Bundle with Pedals.
Good luck on that delivery.
Not for consoles however so they’ve also just pissed off a whole segment of would be customers.
im terrified of ordering on fanatec rn, nobody seems to have it flawless, most dont receive their orders, and IF they get them finally, they are damaged. 500 is a lot for me, for that price i guess i'll go for moza then
im currently planning on replacing my g29. its been good but its way too loud and not great tbh. ik it wont be worth much but i already have a bit of money left around.
Just bought the t300 rs gt its standing on my desk unopened. Should i keep it, or return it?
I Had a T300RS and upgraded to an GT DD and i never looked back
If you're planning to use it on a playstation, keep it
PC.. But i said fuck it, i'm new to racing and if it sticks as a hobby i'll get the more expensive fanatec in a couple of years
oh man if i wasnt going to be taxed to the shadow realm by the monkey island IRS i absolutely would buy one
I wouldn't take a CSL DD even for free at this point. Sold it after 3 months lmao. That plattform is full of issues and cheap tolerances.
Im considering buying this, I have the csl elite v2 pedals already and it would come cheaper to buy this bundle with pedals included than buying the wheel and the base separately
Absolutely and never hurts to have spare pedals if you ever have an issue
You'll also be able to feel things like the car losing traction for example, the g920 really isn't capable of that
Is there any link for singapore?
thrustmaster and logi are good because of their prices fanatec and moza are expsensive but will provide a better feel, is what im getting from this
Fanatec should engineer better their DD ( csl )because the only kill is the dd killing himself due to poor engeneering. Price is super ok!
Unfortunately this wheel is hard to get in the United States. I can’t even get on the website. It’s horrible.
too bad my I bought my Direct Drive and CSL Universal hub (whose shifters broke and Fanatec has failed to provide any support for) before this bundle dropped
What’s the racing sim that’s presented in the video?
I wouldn't say destroyed as you still don't get the full package like Logitech.... Imo I'd like a clutch pedal of the bat yes I get fanetec is a superior wheel but if your going to put a product into lower end market area it needs to meet the same criteria imo however it sill is value for money....
If only you could a NRG/D1/Kyostar style QR on Fanatec, I would buy it...but with their protected ecosystem I'm going to the competitor.
Fanatec have great prices but thrustmaster and logitech at least have the products in stock
Forza has wierd Force Feedback
Try lowering the Natural Damper to 10-25% and the Interpolation Filter to 1
That makes the FFB more "natural" feeling
@@driderv53 I'll Try. I feel the wheel is better in h 4 but h5 has more settings. Also when u go to advanced in the wheel the presets u had dissappear. Strange. How do u even save and lock?
Fanatec is still expensive for some budgets. So I don't think they killed anybody or anything.
I'm actually so annoyed with this nonsense. I purchased my sim kit in 2021 which was the CSL Elite F1 bundle. I was then not able to upgrade to the Load cell because they were discontinued and was forced to but the V3 pedals just to get the load cell.
The CSL DD was announced shortly after.
Then my CSL elite took a crap and Fanatec was out of stock for MONTHS.
It is so hard to trust going fanatec with how often they are out of stock.
Hi, what's the name of the game where you tried the steering wheel?
I am so thankful i found this video, waiting on my new wheel now!! Keep up the good stuff
this is awsome, a good aluminium rig and this combo for only 800 is a very nice starter setup
