I have had much more expensive whiskey, but BT still tastes better. Given the reasonable price and fantastic taste, it's the best P4P whiskey on the market.
I bought this whisky yesterday, my first ever! I'm very excited to get into the world of whisky. I made some old fashioned's for myself last night and I may have my new favourite concoction xD
I just recently discovered Buffalo Trace when I was in Portland Maine this past weekend. I was at a really cool liquor store called Bow Street and one of the clerks recommended it to me. For $26.99 it's a steal for such a high-quality tasting bourbon. I'm hooked!
I love Buffalo Trace. I cannot often find Four Roses Small Batch where I live, and so I discovered this bourbon as an alternative, and it's becoming my bourbon of choice for a daily sipping whiskey.
Buffalo Trace was the first Bourbon I tried that I liked. Before that I had Wild Turkey, and Jim Bean. I personally don't think they compare. The Buffalo Trace is much more of an enjoyable experience, and is still pretty cheap when you're talking bourbon. Great stuff.
So a few years back I found Buffalo Trace. I had never heard of it, and none of my friends drank it or heard of it. I bought it because of the cool bottle (ya I'm that guy) but Wow I loved it and it has become my go to Bourbon. Now I turn other people on to it.
I'm drinking Buffalo Trace as I write this...it's just imo very good bourbon. One of my favorite flavors but I never find it at restaurants in my region of Texas.
I just bought 5 375ml bottles of buffalo trace single barrel select. all from different warehouses , all from different floors in each different warehouse.
Ya know the only Bourbon I’ve ever had until recently was Woodford Reseve and also Kentucky Tradewater formally known as Stonehammer. I have a bottle of buffalo trace reserved for new yrs eve tomorrow and I can’t wait too partake. Thank you for this review! Very excited to expirence this along with a pipe of Ol Toby. Happy New year brother!
I just wanna say my jaw hit the floor when you rolled out the names of the people who owned the same company. Idk but you just made my bourbon tastier. Also interesting to note i bought four roses Sib and tasted it and felt my mouth being crused under the alcohol content. Now i have gotten use to the burn and can enjou it much more thoroughly. Now I taste Buffalo trace for the first time and its like so smoooooth with a soft kick . MMM! Its like im 16 (er 18) again and getting use to beer again.
I love this journey. For me it's been really wonderful to go back and forth comparing whisky and discovering new things each time. Here's to the journey!
Here in Oregon at state run stores (only allowed vendors) Buffalo Trace is $23. That’s just crazy! Eagle Rare is $29. That makes it an easy choice...one of each, please.
Tried this for the very first time on a flight. I asked for a beam and coke. She went to find it and said all they have is Buffalo trace. So I got it and was instantly hooked. I also like highland 12 alot. But Buffalo trace is my favorite
Being on vacation, I happened to obtain BT and Four roses at the same time, never tried any of them before. An opinion from a rookie whisky lover: the smell of BT is just from the upper league, I was astonished by how good it is. The taste is not so impressive, but still quite pleasant. I loved the empty glass aroma several hours later. FR, on the other hand, doesn't provide much on the nose department, but it is pure pleasure to drink. Not overly complicated, a little bit on the sweet side, and so easy to drink, so tasty. Liked them both! With both bottles almost gone I was forced to make a tough choice: which one to buy to keep in my bar for the future occasions (too many bottles in my bar already, most of them half-full). Reluctantly, I've chosen FR, and immediately regretted my choice. Then I told to myself: you would regret equally if you choose BT, you just want them both. And I had to agree with the wise man )
Nicely done Daniel. I really appreciate your commentary. I'm new to experiencing different whiskys and I literally just purchased a bottle of Buffalo Trace today at the local liquor stores. I was hoping to watch a review for this label & sure enough, I knew that I could count on you for a video review. I still need to purchase a proper glencairn glass, but I'm already attempting to train my brain to decipher the smells and trying to focus on picking up different notes with my pallet. Really appreciate all your time you've spent in front of the camera. I honestly enjoy listening to you speak (even though Rex gives you sh#t for not shutting up, LOL); cheers
Duke Cannon has a soap that has buffalo trace in it.i thought youd like to know. it just came in and smells fantastic. i now have every one of their soaps and this is my favorite.
Drinking some blantons right now. One of my favorites everyday drinker even though its kind of hard to find around my parts. BT is a damn fine pour too!
Buffalo Trace is my current favourite considering you cannot even get a bottle of Jim Beam white label for under forty dollars in Australia Buffalo Trace is worth the step up to a premium Bourbon. Buffalo Trace is well worth the fifty nine dollar asking price. 😎👍
Got to thank you for getting me to try this Bourbon. Over here in the UK its priced cheap (£18 so approx $23) and as such I thought it was a shops own brand so always gave it a wide berth!!
After watching a bunch of different UA-cam whisky vids lately (yes 'whisky'.. because I was looking for suggestions on budget scotch, cause that's the price range I live in.) I came across Whiskey Vault and watched the 'How to order" vid, I think that's what it was, or close. Anway,I found them very interesting, educational, and entertaining to watch. That led down the UA-cam rabbit hole of watching more of their vids... The Bourbon vs Scotch vid hooked me into reconsidering Bourbon. I'd bought a bottle of Knob Creek years ago after reading a few action movieish short novels, and absolutely hated it. Yes, I've drunk Jack Daniels, but always tail end of an evening when I was pretty much pissed anyway. One beginner suggestion pops up time after time... Buffalo Trace. So, went to the likker store today and got me a bottle. It's $41.74 cdn here ( a dozen beer is 26-30, and almost all hard stuff starts at $30) so, a tenspot above the real cheap offerings. This... is where I should have started. If only I'd known then. Great suggestion! I'm now looking forward to trying Elijah Craig and a few others in my low price range.
Today I was torn in my choices I wanted to get buffalo trace but when I went to make my purchase I was being pulled to Cooper's craft and abandoned Buffalo Trace it was a tough decision but I'm so glad I discovered something exceptional
tried glenfiddich 12, never really had whiskey before. Gotta say, I was shocked by the taste. It had that standard alcohol smell, but when it hit my tongue wow! If I had never seen this channel I would of never tried it.
I used to like Buffalo Trace and Makers Mark when I was younger, but I stopped drinking Bourbon when I started getting chemical burns (or what it seemed like) from Makers Mark, oddly enough other whiskeys didn't do the same. I moved on to other things but those two were my go to, I hated the Rye in the others. Now I'm getting back to Bourbon and figured I'd try some stuff on sale and use it in a Ginger ale mix if I hated it... I find I love plain old Wild Turkey for a mix with ginger ale, I then got lots in to Rare Breed and Knob Hill 9 among others but those I use for sipping. I can't stand Bulleit by itself but it is amazing with ginger. So I went back to Buffalo Trace and can't find anything I really like it with, it's too weak to really enjoy sipping but even though it's 45% it is a terrible mixer, I guess I need the rye in a mix, or the higher proof . Am I nuts? I hear how amazing Buffalo Trace is but I can't get into it anymore even though I used to like it... It totally tastes like I took some 100 proof stuff and watered it down and I miss the more complex notes others have. Anyway I'd imagine their stronger stuff is nicer but I always say try a bourbon and if you hate it, chances are it still mixes well... Buffalo Trace changed my opinion on that. I may have to drink it straight when I've not had any other bourbons to actually enjoy it. Did I get a bad bottle? seriously I never remembered it tasting that watered down years ago when I used to get it fairly often
I heard some good things about buffalo trace and decided I wanted to get it on my 21st. I'm gonna wait to open it until I'm back to school so all my friends and I can party in our apartment. 27 bucks including tax and it's also a cool bottle.
I actually have been avoiding any videos on Buffalo Trace because I wanted to see if I have picked anything up yet and my notes were... Right off the bat I get a peppery note that reminds me of a rye. If you get a chance, We have a great local bourbon bottled in Portland Oregon called Burnside bourbon, my favorite is Goose Hollow reserve.
i keep saying i'm new too this but if i go back to my collection, i have either the bottle of buffalo trace or an empty bottle of buffalo trace to refer back to - i'm still learning to pick up the nuances in the one
Not sure about bars, but we don't have many self-respecting liquor stores where i'm at. this is actually a tough find in my area. Sucks because I've heard so many good things about it.
Hi, greets from UK, i've just purchased a bottle of BT after coming across this short review, my only experience of bourbons here have been the standard JB and JD, although i have to say for my sins i do like the flavoured ones, Honey, Red Stag, Tennessee Fire, i didn't like the burn or normal JB or JD so thought i would try Buffalo Trace as a straight bourbon, i'm getting there slowly, its sweet on the nose to me and there is a little burn at the end which i'm getting used to, as i tend to like sweeter whiskeys could you recommend anything else that i maybe could find and try in the UK? Best Regards
Weird thing is i grew up drinking rot gut cheap whiskey and never really got too much inti the quality of a bourbon til a few years ago. As i educated myself a little on the distillers here in KY where ive grew up Ancient Age and Benchmark being "cheap whiskey" ive always got that lovely caramel type aftertaste that k loved. To say the least buffalo trace MUST make some good bourbon and ive yet to try the top shelf. My God must be protecting me from such alcoholism. Because it would be over. 😅😎
Benchmark and Ancient Age is cheap but NOT the "rot gut cheap" that you once drank. They are decent quality but not the middle or upper tier of other Buffalo Trace products either.
here in Germany the BT has 40% alc...for a bourbon it's quite nice i think.....what did you say in this video? BT has 45? or did i get something wrong....like i said im from Germany...i don't speak english...
I read not long ago the alcohol was reduced from 45% to 40%. It's apparently been a recent change. The bottle i'm currently drinking is 40% too (i'm in Scotland). May be an EU thing though. Memory is a little shaky on the details i read.
In the EU they bottle at 40 not 45. It is just your government regulations at work. They do it to every whiskey from what I have seen. They do it in Canada as well. Not as much though for some reason.
the australian version is only 40% as well. some whiskeys change the alcohol content depending on where they are sending it. Usually to be able to sell it at a lower price point because some places tax the shit out of alcohol.
- Cuban Bolivar Belicosos Finos. - Cohiba Piramides Extra... better/more consistent than the Bolivar but not by much and the Cohiba is way more $$$. - Cohiba Siglo VI or Medio Siglo (same stick just shorter) - Behike (all of them) - La flor Dominicana Belicoso Habano (discontinued but still around and presents a similar experience to the Opus X... same sweet raisin aroma/taste) - Fuente Opus X Belicoso/super belicoso (clearly I like belicoso) - La Flor de Las Antillas toro... if it has at least 6-12 month humi time because they tend to be young and sold in poorly humidified in shops. This one is an inexpensive sleeper that is readily available. Nice and buttery experience with a cubanesque appeal.
Any blind brackets for the Whiskey Vault? I'd like to see that as I'm pretty confident there would be some surprises. Cheers to the BT nod. That's one solid beverage.
Arnold Lennoxx it’s 80 proof here in Australia, and honestly I found it incredibly disappointing, there’s just nothing there, none of the spice Daniel talks about, no fire, no complexity, honestly it was like drinking watered down vanilla essence ... WT101 and Makers are vastly superior down here.
Did he say spicerly, love your show, I'm kinda broadening my horizons a bit, I do like my wine, especially red, but taste and trying new Bourbons and whiskeys, etc, with the right glass, just like the wines
Sorry if I missed it in the video but when you guys are drinking Buffalo Trace is it the standard bourdon or the single barrel? I'm in the UK and I've seen both, but the single barrel is around double the price. I'm new to whisky so gathering some reasonably priced bottles and if it's just the standard one it seems to be very reasonably priced here? Cheers!
Some Buffalo Trace whiskeys are bottled at 45%, others at 40%. Not sure why this is. The bottle I have here is 0.7 litres and 40% alcohol. To be honest, i was quite disappointed by the flavour (or should i say the lack of such). It's still ok for mixing, since it was only € 20,-
Unfortunately the 'standards' in the UK allows for a lower abv, and less volume...Here in 'Murica many single malts are 43% abv, and are 750 ml, and in particular the Buffalo Trace is 45%.
Buffalo Trace is a very dry Bourbon. Meaning, not to sweet. It reminds me a lot of Ancient Age, also made by the same distillery. You may like Buffalo Trace, but it’s not for me.
relatively new to the channel, whisky advent calendar is something i need in my life i believe. is this a yearly occurrence? where can i find more details on this?
Astonishing. Daniel looked so much younger and free of stress before Rex came on the show. xD
makeup
lol
I don't think he really likes to drink everyday like he does now with the growth of the channel.
Buffalo Trace was the first whiskey I ever had that I would describe as actually tasting "good."
I work security at this place and dude... the smells are amazing.
I just opened the first bottle of it in my life, and the first thing was ''Wow, the smell"!
I have had much more expensive whiskey, but BT still tastes better. Given the reasonable price and fantastic taste, it's the best P4P whiskey on the market.
It honestly does taste better than many 40 dollar bourbons. Idk if I'd say it's better than many in the 50 and up range though.
@@treytison1444 What ones above 50 are better?
Yeah, it's really the right price.
Even if Buffalo Trace was $50, it would probably be justified since it's so good.
I bought this whisky yesterday, my first ever! I'm very excited to get into the world of whisky. I made some old fashioned's for myself last night and I may have my new favourite concoction xD
Just found Buffalo Trace last night and wow. A damn good whiskey. Damn near finished an entire 5th off by myself and had 0 headache the next morning.
Brilliant Whiskey for the price. Just so smooth and lovely. It has complexity but maintains a simple smoothness. It's layered very well.
I discovered Buffalo Trace a few years back & has been one of my favorite go-to’s. Another one I like is Monkey Shoulder.
I just recently discovered Buffalo Trace when I was in Portland Maine this past weekend. I was at a really cool liquor store called Bow Street and one of the clerks recommended it to me. For $26.99 it's a steal for such a high-quality tasting bourbon. I'm hooked!
It is a good value.
I always found that BT had a bit of a honey finish. Absolutely love it.
I love Buffalo Trace. I cannot often find Four Roses Small Batch where I live, and so I discovered this bourbon as an alternative, and it's becoming my bourbon of choice for a daily sipping whiskey.
It's awesome!
Something I pickup with BT is tobacco. It's almost like drinking a cigar. Love it.
Fine Cuban cigar tobacco taste for Sure.
Took my first bottle of Buffalo Trace and yes, this is a really good bourbon for that price !
I had to really search to find someone with Buffalo Trace instock. Absolutely love it...so smooth!
I work in Craft at Buffalo Trace Distillery..11 years now..I help produce Blantons, BT, Eagle Rare, ET Lee, Rockhill..proud of my work!
So a few years back I found Buffalo Trace. I had never heard of it, and none of my friends drank it or heard of it. I bought it because of the cool bottle (ya I'm that guy) but Wow I loved it and it has become my go to Bourbon. Now I turn other people on to it.
That's where I work..BT Distillery , BLANTON bldg...8 years now...ALOT of Ky Bourbon and History on a daily basis......
so you're saying I should make friends with you and buy BT at cost from you ?
Kevin Smith Why is it so hard to find now? I feel like I got the only bottle left on the Florida panhandle!
"At least we get to drink whisky..." Cheers!
Evan Williams versus Buffalo Trace…my two favorite affordable bourbons! Nice comparison! Thanks for video!
incredibly underrated bourbon!!! Bulleit is very good as well but more expensive for the money you can't go wrong with BT
I'm drinking Buffalo Trace as I write this...it's just imo very good bourbon. One of my favorite flavors but I never find it at restaurants in my region of Texas.
yes... BT is my favorite bourbon.
A true classic
I literally tried it for the first time tonight, and I was BLOWN AWAY by how delicious it is.
Have you had Elijah Craig?
VGM Revisited - Elijah Craig is real bourbon, and REAL GOOD.
@@vgmrevisited832 small batch EC and BT are true Bourbon Whiskey!!!
I just bought 5 375ml bottles of buffalo trace single barrel select. all from different warehouses , all from different floors in each different warehouse.
Just got my first bottle of Buffalo Trace! The store only allows a person to purchase one at a time, and only one bottle a month. Lol
You gotta be kidding me..........
One of the best UA-cam vids I've watched lately. An excellent presentation, on one of my favorite bourbons!

booggie995 thank you it’s total bs garbage with the other idiot.

ive been there twice very cool distillery awsome tour I highly recommend it.
My local stores are almost always sold out of BT the moment they get it. Goes to show how good it is.
Wow Rex has really helped build up the entertainment factor for the people.
They complement each other very well

Buffalo trace is my go to regular sipper. Cant say daily because i only partake on Saturdays
Just tried buffalo trace and I love it's flavor, definitely in my top 5 next to knob creek eagle rare and bulliet

Buffalo Trace is well worth the fifty nine dollar asking price.

- La Flor de Las Antillas toro... if it has at least 6-12 month humi time because they tend to be young and sold in poorly humidified in shops.
I have a little question about this one... Because I noticed that the BT is now at 80 Proof, and now I was wondering if it's still as good ?
Where do you live? Still 90 proof in Canada and the US as far as i know.
Liam Burke Germany. I looked at the bottle at the shelf and it was only 40%...
Arnold Lennoxx yea I think the ABV has gone down outside of North America. I’m sure it’s still good quality stuff though.
Great channel. Just found it. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Medicinal bourbon? Don't think my HMO is hip to that.
Planning on restocking a bit on Friday, and watching this is making me sad that I can only buy one. Also gonna make it more difficult to choose
I like Bulleit, and Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve. I ‘tried’ to like Buffalo Trace, but I just don’t. At all. It’s too spicy for my tastes.
