He's actually portrayed as just being gentle and not wanting to fighting to continue as it accomplishes nothing. Many also speculate that Liu Shan pretended to be dumb so that Sima Zhao and later Sima Yan wouldn't see him as a threat. Because of this Liu Shan and his family lived the rest of their lives in luxury after Shu fell.
Liu Chan struggle itself and his decision is what Liu Bei initially wanted in the beginning, just because Zhuge Liang that he started to stray away from his goal and decided to sidelined himself so Shu might be better in the hands of his advisor Zhuge Liang.
My interpretation of this scene is that Liu Shan is a lazy butt and he always tries to skip his training because he is the afore-mentioned lazy butt. Which of course annoys Xingcai so she has to go and find him. However, of course, we find he is ACTUALLY training himself. In secret. And she doesn't call him out on it for whatever reason (I suspect she's going to make her training tougher after this since she now knows what he's capable of combat-wise). But there's a reason why this scene is titled 'Liu Shan's OTHER side'. Because he's not ACTUALLY a lazy, idiot butt. He's PRETENDING to be a lazy, idiot butt. If the others knew, they would probably mention "Oh he looks like he was training in the garden." But they didn't. Meaning they too did not know he trained in secret. I mean. HAVE YOU GUYS EVER SEEN THIS GUY GET ANGRY BEFORE THIS SCENE?! I know I haven't. Even in the gameplay the worst he gets is 'mildly pissed off'. But look at his facial expressions when he's training! He's properly serious! Unlike how he normally behaves. Hence why it is called 'Liu Shan's other side' and why this guy is sneaky as!
somehow the man himself able to trick Sima Zhao to lower his suspicion to ensure him not a threat to Jin and his decision allow Shu to assimilated to Jin without problems.
I always find funny how in DW5 she has this tiny little voice trying to be tough yet suddenly in 7 she is like BAM! deep voice. Her best voice was in Warrios Orochi (1-2) and even if it's still Wendee Lee , she sounds way too old for her age even if she is suppoused to be mature.
The actors feel as though giving Xingcai a mature hue to accentuate her age is better than having a childlike one. Nothing wrong with adding a grownup voice into the equation.
Liu shan and yoshimoto imagawa Both are regardly known as the buffons of koei warriors, but the truth is they have more serious side. For yoshimoto's case, he can be a cruel person
@RestofBraves she is fictional, she represents the second wife of Liu Shan, the first being her sister, but in game she is the only daughter, she represents both daughters of zhang Fei, look for info on the Koei wiki and the Empress Zhang entry on wikipedia.. unlike the ambiguity that surrounds Xing Cai's reactions for her father or Guan Ping, she openly expresses her fondness and respect for Liu Shan. She is also bashful when Jiang Wei mentions her actions in battle will please their ruler.
Oh, yeah she's Xiahou Yuan's niece, therefore Xiahou Ba's cousin (no I mistyped it as niece before but it's actually cousin) That's for her sake that Xiahou Ba fled to Shu, not to Wu, as many have wondered why Ba made his choice so.
Yes, and to be specific, the name "星彩' (Xing Cai) has the same Japanese pronunciation as "敬哀", which was the imperial title one of Zhang Fei's daughter got when she became queen of Liu Shan.
Well Liu Shan got in and now she's a wife. Since Liu Shan is weak willed and overly kind they made her the strong wife that gets him to do what's required to be a Lord.
before training Xing Cai: *looking for Liu Shan's sword, then looks at Liu Shan* where the hec is you sword *looks at bent arm and finds out his hand was behind his back* WHAT ARE YOU HIDING! Liu Shan: nothing really Xing Cai: hmm, your lucky, but next time you won't be as lucky as you are now *walks off* Liu Shan: *laughs quietly* thank gosh, i need to relax *walks to bedroom and read book*
@Napaaqtuq99 Xing Cai is the fictional representation of both daughters of Zhang Fei that were married to Liu shan...in the game they are not married, but it is hinted mostly on Xing Cais's part... Its sad really, Xing Cai was a really cool gal, and now she is more of a bodyguard with a crush.
OK almost correct. But the more conceivable theory is that "Xing Cai" is the Japanese pronunciation for "敬哀", which was Lady Zhang's imperial title when she became Queen of Shu.
i think Koei wants us to think by ourselves. maybe she really like Liu Shan. but she can't expresses her feeling because their position of emperor and bodyguard.
@SPG0890 lmao no she's not. it's outright stated in the game that she's 1) zhang fei's younger daughter and 2) married to liu shan. also if you think that xing cai has a "crush" on liu shan, you didn't play the same game i did. she's reserved toward everyone. she compliments him because he needs it, but she's not fawning over him. if anything, he shows he has more feelings toward her than she does to him.
2) Same for Liu Shan. He stayed in the capital while Jiang Wei went out to try to fulfill Liu Bei's dream. Jiang Wei constantly asked for reinforcements and more resources, but...Liu Shan couldn't be bothered. He delegated all military, financial, and political responsibilities to his advisors who sucked up to him. Which is why, the moment his life was in danger....he surrendered the whole kingdom. In the book, Sima Zhao was DISGUSTED by him and mourned for the Shu officers that had to serve him
It was Liu Bei, Zhang Fei and Guna Yu, then they turned it into Liu Shan, Xing Cai and Guan Suo, Zhang Fei is the only one with a descendant who ain't a freaking pansy.
In the DW franchise Lui Shan has like a crush on Xing Cai and in real life Lui Shan married Xing Cai's sister and after her sister's death Lui Shan married Xing Cai
@SPG0890 Nope, the game explicitly mentions that she married the same person as her elder sister. So she's not fictional. Have you even played the game? As much as I like the Koei wiki, they're pretty biased and left out a lot between Guan Ping and Xing Cai. She praises Guan Ping pretty often too, and they have plenty of moments. Funny how her wiki page got locked to prevent people from editing that in. Again, you didn't even play the game, did you?
Plenty of moments but a lot of interpretations of Xing Cai and Guan Ping's relationships were that of lovers.. When in fact they were actually not even close. Their relationship was stated to be more platonic and ambiguous. I do not know how its considered being "bias"? Arguably the game is based on The Three Kingdom's novel which was a fairytale version of the historical documents anyhow. Unfortunately a lot of the information was already considered bias. For example, much of "supposed" documents made by Zhuge Liang were maybe put as purposely smearing others. Like Pang Tong as supposedly being ugly because Zhuge Liang was envy of his abilities. Zhuge Liang was actually more of a diplomatic and politics leader. And things like Sima Yi was considered very fair leader but was considered a almost evil individual in the games (though I love his laugh in it). I mean I don't know if its really bias because they do not tout its directly from the Romance of the Three Kingdom's novelization. its just lightly influenced by it. Its like play CoD World at War where you played as the Russians fighting the Germans. Is it "bias"? Russians were just as bad as the Germans in those age. They treated the Jewish just as horrible as the Germans. Though I think DW9 did make it more accurate on what the novel foretold versus DW7. Though if it were not for the games I would not have been studying the history for years. Its all thanks I got to play Dynasty Warriors 2. Because we can read up about the true happenings. Though like I said, I think your going to find things wonky on either side games and novel and even history. Some things are left unanswered and some of the people credited as existing just......disappeared off the records with only mere speculations on what may have happened.
I mean arguably about Guan Ping himself..............information on him is very small. His birth is unknown but he died on January or February 220. Though the Romance of Three Kingdom novel states he was the adopted son of Guan Yu, it does not specifically state that in the historical documents. Only that he was the eldest son of Guan Yu and was captured along with him by Wu forces. Its pretty much just taking that information that was vague and putting in maybe answers or simply dramatizing it. So ideally your claim on "bias" is not really credible as the "bias" was based on a more "dramatized" historical-based book on something that may not even occurred. I still do not get where your getting the whole "bias" part from. Bias has to do with favoring one thing for another with the idea of being unfair about it. But is it necessarily unfair when the information of any of the characters have so many loopholes and questions in their own historical information. I mean that would mean China was even bias since they made the tv show of the novel which again apparently antagonized Cao Cao (which the games originally did and then gave him more of a sympathetic road) but in all arguments really ALL the leaders and officers were just as bad as Cao Cao. They all had points despite you would credit them now as ruthless and evil. Actions questionable. But take what I say with just my own opinion. I love reading history and such. And regardless if the game is not accurate (which was kind of expected since if this was on the actual context of the history it would be both really boring and kind of shorter) it made me want to read the novel which then I found out the novel that its also not really truthful.
Also to correct my previous comment: Xing Cai's not a word-for-word correct pronunciation for the Kanji "敬哀", it's a homophonic one: In japanese, "星彩" is read as "Sei Sai". In comparison, "敬哀" is read as "Kei Ai".
well the empire parts are the round based strategy versions of the dw games where u have to play in scenarios to unite china under ure banner a very funny in my opinion the extreme legend version is an upgrade to the regal dynasty warriors like: more game modes included, special playable characters and a bit more story in the musou modes ^^ like the XL4,5 and 6 games ^^
He pretty much was historically. Honestly, the person you could compare him to the most would be Dong Zhuo. All Dong Zhuo cared about was partying, women, and having a good time. Never mind that the world was going to hell around him while his officers fought to the death for him, he just didn't care. As long as his advisors sucked up to him, and he was left to engage in all manner of hedonism he could think of.....then he didn't really give a damn bout anything else
Technically, that was everyone though. Even Liu Bei and Sun Quan. Think about it: What if Cao Cao had won at Chi Bi? No one in China wouldve had the military might to even come CLOSE to challenging him. War would've ended in probably just a couple years....but Liu Bei and Sun Quan's victory merely extended the inevitable by like 60-70 years of war.....The people suffered because of everyone involved, NOT just Jiang Wei. Everythin about Shu was fulfilling LIU BEI's dream, not the peoples'.
@Lord980 ah alright but now its to late... someone wrote to me and crushed my dream about getting this... but nooooo they decided not to give this out on xbox360.... so nvm.. thank you anyways
yeah only in game. I like his philosophical intelligence portrayed in DW's stories but it isn't what he was like at all in reality. Historians depict Liu Shan as some sort of mentally challenged and handled his father's forces poorly
Yet they lost and shit chick never existed?
I'm sure his father Liu Bei is so Gdamn proud seeing him like that...
@@jchea1764 what did liu expect from him? Sleeping dragon were death and jiang wei keep losing 😂
Liu Chan struggle itself and his decision is what Liu Bei initially wanted in the beginning, just because Zhuge Liang that he started to stray away from his goal and decided to sidelined himself so Shu might be better in the hands of his advisor Zhuge Liang.

I mean, I wouldn’t mind Xing Cai to be my drill sergeant. :3
She did marry Liu Shan so Xing Cai is a princess. She's the merging of both of Zhang Fei's daughters, both of which married to Liu Shan.
Faisal Masab Change the ''Lord Liu Shan'' with ''Lord Sun Ce'' and you got Da qiao from DW4-5 instantly, lol.
The actors feel as though giving Xingcai a mature hue to accentuate her age is better than having a childlike one. Nothing wrong with adding a grownup voice into the equation.
I love how epic music starts playing when bro is just randomly stabbing air

omg her and yue ying needs to switch voice actors....NOW
I always team her up with Zhao yun + The fat guy with a big hammer (i forgot his name)
in Warriors of Orochi.
"You are always so strict" lol
OMG! Xing Cai's voice has DEFINITELY lowered since DW5 Lol
Liu Shan is so tough he can lift Meng Huo and Dong Zhuo with no hands.
Oh, yeah she's Xiahou Yuan's niece, therefore Xiahou Ba's cousin (no I mistyped it as niece before but it's actually cousin)

Like father like daughter.
Has anyone else seen Liu Shan's eyes and finds it kinda...creepy?
Xing Cai is easily the prettiest girl in DW.... And newcomer Wang Yuanji comes next.
he was Training anyway
x 3
it dose seem like, for alot of people, it is easier to do things you dislike alone rather than be forced into it by others.
Love her because she's so beautiful and strong. I hope you don't mind if I follow her style, it's just so beautiful I want to be like her!
She is a princess because she married Liu Shan.
Xing Cai changed really i love Xing Cai from DW5:XL more
Is it just me or is Liu Shan holding his sword behind his back at an impossible angle?
@TheXenatron i think he kinda learned that, you should never do what you don't like behind the one you loves back
@Napaaqtuq99 yes i heard there were together sense that guan ping died but liu shan wanted to get away due to his lack of training
Xing Cai really does have a.... weird swing of her hips 0.0
@TheXenatron I think since she says to Liu Shan that hi has used the same exuce over again that even her temper has it's limits :3
Xingcai is based off both daughters merged together as Liu Shan married both.
It was Liu Bei, Zhang Fei and Guna Yu, then they turned it into Liu Shan, Xing Cai and Guan Suo, Zhang Fei is the only one with a descendant who ain't a freaking pansy.
pleased to help ya ^^

Isnt that Lui Bei's sword? or one of them anyway?
any1 that please can tell me if xtreme legends is a total different game or is it a extra thingy for dw7? please gt know
Jiang Wei did pretty much lose his way though, while the people were suffering Jiang Wei could only think about fulfilling Zhuge Liangs wish.
correction: xing cai doesn't exist... zhang fei's daughter name are zhang xing and zhang cai... that's where the name came from
Maybe it's because Liu Shan always skips training, she gets pissed off by it?
with sun quan's cousin if i wasn't mistaken...
she has her mother's face luckily
Was a Xing Cai in China history I wonder how she looked in real and compare them both?
Also to correct my previous comment:
Xing Cai's not a word-for-word correct pronunciation for the Kanji "敬哀", it's a homophonic one:
In japanese, "星彩" is read as "Sei Sai". In comparison, "敬哀" is read as "Kei Ai".

@Lion480blue She is real she is but in wikipedia her name is empress Zhang married to Liu Shan
I like her voice better in this, she sounded too much like a princess in 5
Im fans xingcai
@Minigun101 I'll make sure he's not fight with the flies, but with a mosquitos...XDXD LOL
@SPG0890 Crush? I really don't see it.
well to play dw 4 XL u have to use dw 4 cd too to unlock the musou mode on dw 4 XL dont know how it works on dw 7 ;P
@Ixbran true very true
@Napaaqtuq99 Dude, Xing Cai is way older that Liu Chan.
@Lord980 ah alright but now its to late... someone wrote to me and crushed my dream about getting this... but nooooo they decided not to give this out on xbox360.... so nvm.. thank you anyways
and it was much more better.. i hope next dynasty warriors koei make xiao qiao make a bit mature..
Not necessarily as Zhenji wasn't made empress.
But she is a princess.
@themangix357 People picture him as a fool, so I guess he wants to "fool" people.
@decor271 no, a fan of him
I don't get the point of the vid? o_O It's time for his training? Yet he is training already.
Liu Shan vs Fly
I like Guan Ping better
They should just remove Guan Sao and Bao Sanniang
Koei really should've given them their personalities from the folk tale _Hua Guan Suo_. At least *those* incarnations were somewhat entertaining.
I’d rather they remove Liu Shan.
@ashleighd31 lol what are you his mother? XD
0:01-0:10 Xing Cai says ARGH 3 times hehe
yeah only in game.
I like his philosophical intelligence portrayed in DW's stories but it isn't what he was like at all in reality. In fact I don't thk he has the brain to make such wise choice when Deng Ai knocked on his front door----only got it by luck.
If you look up how he ruled Shu in real historical records you'd know what I mean, pretty disillusioning but Liu Bei surely has hurled away his future at ChangBanPo, and to thk ZhaoYun lived long enough to witness his wasted efforts...OUCH!!
i wish i didn't rescue him in ChangBan. Zhao yun.
The voice-over wende lee could use the xianghua tone of soul calibur 3 to make xing drops so I think it is based on the Japanese voice of xing drops
Sima zhao still better in term of chadness or fighting or leadership despite being more lazy
Xing Cai now reminds me of Erza of fairytail
Lol, Liu Bei's brat is training in a heavy fur coat and imperial robes.
Dynasty Warriors Logic.
yes Liu Shan, you go ahead and train hard, fight for the name of SHU
*After the Capturing of Chengdu*
Liu Shan: The Kingdom of Shu hereby surrenders to you
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*jumps off a cliff*
i LOVE SHU APOLISGIST
I much prefer her sweet DW5 voice.
i could beat liu shan in a sword fight...
old voice xing cai
Why the hell does she moan every minute
Xing cai is like artificial intelligence emotionless. I don't like her
I really like this game xing cai design and in dw9 version but too bad that game suck 😧
English voice is too old for a U20 girl like Xing Cai.
Liu Shan is so lazy!
@Minigun101 I'll make sure he's not fight with the flies, but with a mosquitos...XDXD LOL
