We can't get enough of these Jeep Liberty diesels. Let's try to figure out why this one is throwing a P0299 Turbocharger Underboost code. Let us know what you're thinking. Thanks for hanging out! -2SG

Please I hope you see this so far you are the only man on this planet who knows about this car my jeep doesn’t like too heat up anything under 14 degrees it won’t past 95F and that’s on high way or normal driving

Could it be the thermostat? Or could it do something with the viscous heater? Cabin air doesn’t get too hot either and only throws heat when moving if left too idled it just gets cold again so far I got the heat to work a little bit better by putting some cardboard in front of the radiator but where I am sometimes weather likes to get to the -30

Ours acts the same way. We replaced the thermostat last year with no change. I’ve thought about removing the mechanical cooling fan to see how it does managing temp with the electrical fan by itself.

I get some black smoke on hard acceleration and above2500 revs. Seems to have lots of power but it’s using too much fuel and it’s Smokey. New air filter fitted.

Is the check engine light on?

@@2StallGarage no engine light. The cabin computer does say “perform service” but I don’t know how to turn this off, I just thought it might be a basic trip meter every 10k miles.
I think there is some misting of oil down under the engine (if I remember correctly) and there is a smell of diesel coming from the engine but it’s not too bad. I discovered a split two months ago in the vacuuM hose into the turbo (next to the air filter) so replaced that and was hoping that would fix the problem. Power is better but the fuel efficiency is terrible plus this smoking really ruins the driving experience

You are able to reset that perform maintenance counter by holding down reset while on the maintenance countdown screen.
Check for vacuum leaks. I had similar issues with our CRD. turned out to be the secondary runner valve. Eventually your Jeep will throw a code. 🔧

Please respond I’m trying to find out where to find a replacement for the hose as mine has a tear at the bottom. If anyone has a link I need to get one ASAP.

Sasquatch parts . Com or idparts . Com
I can’t post the link together because UA-cam doesn’t allow it. Hope this helps!

      Intercooler hose

  • @TheStiver

I'm having trouble with that intercooler hose on that side. Somebody had replaced mine with a generic aftermarket hose and routed it over the a/c high side line & switch, not under it, so it eventually pushed the a/c line down enough to cause it to split at the compressor fitting. Anyways, I have the new a/c line and intercooler hose, but I'm not sure how it is routed or which end is which? It looked like you might've installed it backwards from how it came out, but I couldn't really tell?

I actually think I installed it backwards at first, then realized and flipped it back the correct way. Check out this schematic which will hopefully help you get it in right. images.app.goo.gl/zx9C9BDL746P8PQi6

I need help. 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD Diesel: I was pulling 4k pounds for about 500 miles and the last 80 miles was a solid gradual up hill. I noticed it wasn't going into over drive about 20 miles before the big problem started. We heard a pop. Not a super loud pop but a pop any way. Noticed there was zero oil but was idling fine, just no power at all. It would move a foot and stop so I quickly shut her down. Sent a friend down 6 hours from home to pick it up. He poured a gallon of oil in it and it all ran out. He said a lot of oil was coming out of the exhaust. It doesn't overheat or smell like burnt antifreeze. Also there was no check engine light on but the oil light did come on a little and I added some oil but the oil light went off and never came back on. Did I blow my motor or am I lucky enough that this could be just the turbo or something even cheaper? I can't afford this right now. =(

    • @2StallGarage
      @2StallGarage  2 роки тому

Ah bummer. I would start with the turbo. I had a similar situation with a 1.9TDI in a VW. Idled fine, coolant was good, degraded power. Replaced the turbo and all was well again.
Fingers crossed it’s just the turbo. You can find them fairly cheap these days online new or reman.

Oil was pouring out the exhaust as well.
