His son Joseph who committed suicide was actually diagnosed bipolar and had many of the same symptoms. Jerry was just like the Nutty Professor with 2 sides. He always knew it but didn't know about bipolar disorder.

My dad was starting a new job that day and beforehand my mother and I were going to take him to a local wildlife museum to have a fun day together. As someone who now is dealing with thoughts of suicide and dealing with major depression I can honestly say that my dad was never that person. It was an accident through and through.

He presented himself as a "saviour" of sick children but had almost nothing to do with his 6 sons and homeless daughter. There is something truly sickening in hurting those closest to you. The more I learn his story the more I think he was a covert narcassist who needed the publics attention continuously. He was always saying in every interview how much he "loved" Dean Martin. Was there no love left over for his natural children! I mean 6! After 1 passed away..What monster would sell all her father private jewellry to strangers? That says it all. I now feel sick thinking about watching another Jerry Lewis anything. I think the world was duped...biggest con in show business. These were Children after all..

In 1968, my uncle was killed in a collision between his 1965 Ford Fairlane and a semi-tractor trailer. The accident literally removed his face, from the chin to the top of his head. I loved my uncle, and any difference in his appearance would have been burned in my mind. I know of his injuries because of accident photos I saw many years later.
The mortician was an artist beyond compare. He recreated my uncle's face -in wax- so perfectly one would have thought he'd gone to the accident scene and found the original unscathed and put it back in place. Madame Toussand's would have been fortunate indeed to have had an artist of his skill. THEY must work from a time-consuming live-cast mold of their subjects to do what that mortician did from a single photo. And, he did this in only three days!
Why such a morbid post? Because of the tragedy that is the face on that still living, breathing, and famous singer, Wayne Newton. It is beyond unpleasant to see so many celebrities voluntarily have their faces removed and replaced with..., well, the face of an unrepaired corpse. People still, today, speak in wonder; "What the Hell was Michael Jackson thinking?" Compared to Newton and many other famous people Michael looked good. Poor Wayne, where the hell was a good mortician when he needed one.

Nobody wants to die yet nobody complains about being dead. How bad could it be?
Jerry was never one for stoic resignation. He was pure drama. And I've lost count of the times I heard the narroration: "you'll see Jerry Lewis as you've never seen him - serious". That line literally went back 50-55 years. It would have been more effective to say: "you'll see Jerry Lewis as you haven't seen him for 50 years - funny".
He was a good man. He had a little genius in him. So I should go easy. But he stopped being funny about 1960 and he lived into the 20-teens and at 90, wealthy, celebrated and generally sucked up to, he was tearing up at the thought of his own death. A little gratitude for the amazing ride may have been called for. But, then again, I could see him wanting it to go on forever, though imagine how much trouble he would be to everyone around him at 115.

Seriously? Poor man? This guy has enjoyed the best of life. He has entertained many of us for decades, and we have loved his works. Why is he a "poor man"? He is a blessed man who has been able to lead a full life and entertain hundreds of millions of people. Mr. Lewis has left his mark on the world and is hardly a "poor man".

Jerry was my favorite when I was a kid, I would stay up late on the weekend to his movies. He always filled me with joy. His telethon work for MD kids shows his great compassion for children and the sick. He is one of a kind, and Hollywood should take note of the fine human being who worked on film and set a great example of what a star could do to touch so many hearts.

It is hard growing old. You hit 21and Wolla another 21years have passed. All I can say, is to get out and see the world, if you can't do that become someone important in your own community. Write a book on your life so ur great great etc etc can read the words of the past that for a little time, then before u know it, your old, never wrote that book never took those important pics. I love how Jerry is still with us and still today makes everyone laugh. As a little kid we watch his black and white movies and laugh hard. I'd love to go to Los Vegas to see him. But I'm flying to the uk 🇬🇧, Scotland, France 🇫🇷 and Rome. By myself. I wish all the love and prayers to Mr Jerry Lewis and Thankyou for the many years you made us laugh, cry and wishing u got the gal, but u got the best wife..

Meeting Jerry Lewis and shaking his hand in 1981 was both an honor and privilege. This man gave so much to so many and truly deserves entertainment immortality. He will be with us for as long as there is laughter in this world.

The one thing I will never understand, how when young, he appeared to be humble and meek, and as old, he turn rude and arrogant, as if all of a sudden he feels he's now invincible??? and I mean when he was still alive.
