This one of those songs that will come to your mind and play all day in your head. But it's a good thing because it's a great song that makes you feel good.
Love this song. Played the hell out of it, cranking it in my Firebird with windows open few years after getting out of college. Thanks for bringing back the good memories! A+
kids today will never understand the 80's.....NEVER!!!! you had to be alive and old enough to understand what was happning.....pioneer stereos blaring music was in every high school parking lot!!!
, Phil Collins is so f****** awesome I love Genesis everybody thought Genesis would fall on their ass when Peter Gabriel left I'll tell you what Genesis took off on a rocket ship and they didn't come down for a very long time Phil Collins is such a talented performer his vocals his drumming his song writing and the rest of the band isn't too bad either I just love him and that ban love Peter Gabriel 2 but I like him much better when he went solo Phil Collins solo stuff was great too especially this song
This song was commissioned for the BBC TV Drama Series 'Inside Out' written by Simon Moore and directed by Tony Smith and Pedr James, starring Philip Sayer, Lou Wakefield and Michael Thomas. It was originally offered to Paul Weller but he couldn't fit the dates
Tony Smith I bought the no jacket required album off the back of this song, having first heard it as the theme tune for the TV series you mentioned. It was quite a good series from what I recall?. It was on BBC 2 around Feb/March 1985. I was 14 at the time. I still think it's a great song 32 years on. Interesting to hear it was offered to Paul Weller first. Strange that there is not a single clip/episode of it on You Tube.
It'll be sitting there in the BBC's vaults, unavailable to the public like so much other material. They've just announced they're abandoning their 'BBC Store' project which had begun advertising and streaming some of their many past glories, so now it will just languish once again. In a way it all belongs to the nation so we should demand it (never mind enjoy it).
Thanks for the trivia, mate! A song that seemed to be underrated, probably because PC had so many other hit singles. I think it's one of his top 5 myself.
So underrated....Right up there with against all odds as his absolute best.
Effing drum sound on this is insane
Love Phil. My favorite song by him!

One of his best !!
Played the hell out of this cassette album...even in my 1984 Ford Tempo's factory cassette player...(only had one button for FFWD/EJ)
Sounds about right… rewind was luxury..
I wore out a copy. Everybody I knew did. This album ruled the world for awhile.
