That was great. And yet another open hand style. I’m seeing more and more. My friend just moved the hi hat to the middle with a Mandela pad in its place on the left.
Nice work. It takes a left handed drummer playing on a right hand kit, to nail all the essential points to this song. Your talents are fluid, and capture the groove, and iconic strokes infused in this song. I appreciate your skill, craft, and ability behind the right handed kit. It is interesting seeing how you incorporate your approach to this song, playing on a right handed drum kit.
@@KyleDavisMusic Wonderful performance. I am right handed drummer, and learning Phil Collins songs or Genesis songs over the years, always had an appreciation for Phil, or Simon Phillips, for their drumming chops. It is different for a right handed drummer to incorporate the method behind "southpaw." I love your attack on the verse and follow up with a strong down-beat, just like the original recording. Phil, always lead with a strong-back beat on all his songs. Excellent work.
Trying to learn this one myself. I'm torn between mimicking exactly what's on the recording, or sort of just making it my own creation while keeping the basic framework of the song, as you just did. Good show!!
Very good! Only difference is elevate the crash cymbals and destroy them like the recording of the song You are really, really good, and get all of the notes in well. Just bring it heavier on the crashes.

Open handed looks so fluid and makes everything so accessible. I need to change to that. Also, amazing job. So smooth.
