Hiking the DELICATE ARCH TRAIL in Arches National Park

- Welcome to the world's famous geological wonder The Delicate Arch Trail, stands approximately 64 feet high and 45 feet wide (21 m by 15 m )
The trail to see Delicate Arch up close and personal is 3 miles (4.8km) round trip and climbs 480 feet (146m). Along this steadily uphill trail, you'll also pass the Wolfe Ranch cabin and a wall of Ute Indian petroglyphs.
Delicate Arch is absolutely worth the hype and is a must- see while in Arches National park. The surrounding views at delicate arch trail is truly amazing!
Delicate Arch i s a free-standing arch, situated in a large bowl of slickrock.
The trailhead to the Delicate Arch trail starts at the Wolfe Ranch parking lot, near one of the more historical sights in the park. It is located about 13 miles from the Arches national Park visitors center on the Arches Scenic Drive.
The final leg of this hike is a bot scary, but manageable if you are careful. The final 200 yards of the trail to the Delicate Arch clings to the side of the cliff-face as it gently winds around a corner. There are no handrails and as you climb further up the drop below gets greater and greater.
and yes you can do this trail with kids but try to avoid the heat and snow. Go either very early in the morning or in the evening, just before the sunset.
The parking lot is located on delicate arch Road. From the parking area, you'll set off from the Delicate Arch Trailhead and cross the bridge over salt wash. The hike is just over 1.5 miles each way.
If you don't have time or ability to hike , don't worry! You can still see many famous arches and rock formations from the scenic drive. You can drive the park roads and visit viewpoints to see some notable features of Arches National park.
