JEEP XJ UPPER REAR SHOCK BOLT FIX

Alot of people have asked me how I fixed my upper shock bolts on my 1996 Jeep Cherokee ( XJ ). Well I used my impact hammer or Air Hammer and knocked the old bolt out, then with a piece of safety wire and pulled a new bolt through the hole..that's about it..lol You need 4 Grade 8 bolts 3/8"or 5/16" x 1 1/2" long. 4 lock washers and 4 nuts to match.

WAVES HANDS!!!... YEP im one of the DOPES who drilled and tapped..LOL..
doing the mod where you weld a set of rear sway bar mount in place of the bolts.. then thru bolt the shock after you pull that upper mounting pin out..Thanks for sharing I have a 93 XJ

What size bolt? when I knocked out broken bolt hole is now bigger but bolt that fits hole won't fit shock.
