ahh the satisfaction of watching someone drive a 720s like its a fiesta 😎
Ford Fiesta ST??? Lol
Bloody hell! That was one of the best laps of the Ring I've seen. I'm sure I would have spewed. Can't wait for the LT version.
Watch a GT2 RS MR lap.
Finally someone driving this thing around a circuit like it's meant to be, good stuff
The 720S is so effortlessly fast.
S because it’s designed right
Love it! I’m the Gtr Nismo driver, i was following you during one lap! Great driving :)
Great driving too Francesco, I hope that we will meet again ;)
Do you have a video of that? If so, please supply link here. Thanks. :-)
Impressionnant !
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time....
Da Alpha Supreme Kevin Estre also got some good vids too!
He’s pushing the tyres to the very limit in most corners and is inducing a lot of turn in oversteer and generating a nice slip angle for exit and for 90% of the other corners he’s just having fun and sliding the car. Superb car control and balls harder than steel.
5:22 hell yeah that was nice
Normally that slide results in earning a place on a future crash video.
1000/1000 times I'm wrecking that shit lol
Uff
The way of all flesh 👌
This is some mind-blowingly good driving. Reminds me of the lap footage from the 911 RUF Yellowbird pilot! Outstanding
How can a machine with so much power be this controlable, a road car no less! Respect, for McLaren and the driver
The driver has a lot to do with it, he looks to be fighting the car the whole time.
Actually he explained in the article (www.largus.fr/actualite-automobile/essai-extreme-la-mclaren-720s-en-test-au-nurburgring-9344390.html) that he whishes he had better tyres to take benefit of all what this car could provide. The original Pirelli are not the best for the ring and he would have driven much faster with better tyres.
Drives a McLaren like rally cross. Epic
so many ppl commenting on his over sliding - any of you smarties thought that he's doing it on purpose to have fun? xD
It's mind numbing how so many people can't tell that he is inducing oversteer on purpose.
It's called pushing it, to be fast you need to find that fine line of traction/losing traction ... people are silly. Of course sliding alllll the time isn't as efficient but once and a while is normal, especially on a hot lap.
I'm not conviced he was intentionally inducing oversteer, but he was definitely experimenting with finding the limit, and riding it with authority lol
@@JifeLacket this isn't him finding the limit lol, this is the 720s Drift mode, which diverts more then necessary power to the rear
Jason Jayawardena No, hes definitely finding the limit to the cornering of the car and grip of the wheels
When he went through the first three corners....I was like man that thing looks loose, but I didn't read the description until other comments mentioned he was in drift mode. Man it shows.
Fast but courteous and sensible. Guy knows what he's doing, and the drifts wete awesome. Car was definitely on its tip toes. Big respect.
I think the tires got too hot near the end. At the beginning you had more grip and to the end the car was sliding everytime.
Nice driving 👍
It's called variable drift control, not only that the hotter the tires the better the grip! Why do you think they are constantly trying to warm there tired in motorsport?! Think before you comment!!
@@martyndyson9501 the optimum tire temperature is between 75°C and 90°C.
A higher temperature than 100°C and up will decrease the grip rapidly.
true, the car was all over the place
Martyn Dyson There is an optimum operating temperature window for the tires, it doesnt mean that the hotter the tyre is the better grip it has. You made fool out of yourself
Martyn Dyson “Think before you comment!!” Lol you’re a big dumb dumb
Showing the car is set to maximum drift is a flex 💪
Bravo sir. Nice to watch someone that knows the track and knows how to drive give a car a proper workout.
It's clearly that he is hitting the throttle that hard and early to produce some powerslides, really good driver and fun to watch.
Whoa cool!
Just found out I can hold my breath for 7:20!!
So brave!! That was a battle in every curve!
The camera angle and microphone are very good. Driving and video are very good. Thank you.
😯😯😯😯 driver Amazing, control Amazing....balls Amazing
I think you are a professional driver!
Superb driving as usual! It's sooo quick but looks like very hard work to get a good lap out of it.
West Coast Crawling Check the screen. It’s in drift mode
Pretty weird handling setup for this track. He's spending so much time dealing with the oversteer, the car seems very loose. The 'Ring isn't exactly a drift course...
Mclarens gain their time on the straights, not the corners. Hence loose handling
Maybe this guy just WANT to go sideways for fun? He definitely has the skill and the BALLS to do it on green hell.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think he had his traction control set for more oversteer as you can see from the center screen. Hence the more unnecessary drifting. I bet he just wanted to have more fun.
@@Ralgog p1 has the fastest time in nurburgring
Exactly what i thought,he's all over the track, maybe joyful to drive like this but not so enjoyable to watch
With or without TC ?
Power over steer pass at 2:05 looked fun I could tell it was purposeful lined the turn well 😎😉
i ve watched this video some many times its amazing
Pity about the heavy traffic but what kind of lap time was this guy doing? Great driving and didn’t even wear gloves... impressive 👍🏻
Incroyable 😍👍👌 la maîtrise 😱
The passanger is just to even the wheight out, nice car and driver!
Quel est le nom du pilote!?
Anyone that has actually done significant track time will understand the pure unbridled joy of neutrally drifting through a corner with just throttle manipulation alone.
Then taking it beyond that point, to a point of excess and not losing control ... oh boy oh boy oh boy!
I'm envious of the driver, as that most of been such an enjoyable lap :)
Incroyable!
Dudes a driver for sure and McLaren know how to build a car. What a machine.👌🏽
the first time that a mclaren is on or over the edge!well done, great driving!i think the tires where melted after the first 2 minutes!
Handles like a super fast go kart, love to drive one of these. Great lap looks like a pure adrenaline rush!
Amazing, this car is a rocket. The shifting is so lightning fast :O
I got drained and tired by watching all the micro-steering happening, can’t imagine how it must be actually driving it.
Good job very nice use of the tires . You ran them just to their limit not too over . Driver here.
The „Variable Drift Control” in this car is not a „drift mode” that you all guys know. It is just a system that allows car to oversteer more before the ESC intervene. The guy in the video just pushes the car, trying to find the limit that is why he the car oversteers sometimes he is not doing it for fun.
And by the way, he has some great skills 👍🏻
Why does it want to spin out so bad? Does the car normally drive like that or is that a specific setting only put on for the track?
Huge balls man, huge balls !!! Very nice drive and awesome drifting!!! 👏👏👏
You are amazing driver! Greetings from Slovakia :)
Oh yeah!
Now that's how a 720s shall be driven. Great skills. Nice video. Fantastic car.
A +
Che guida, complimenti!! Sempre uno spettacolo i vostri video!!
Glad you gave it some of the McLaren Variable Drift Control fun!!!Without it this car is griping so much more
That was savage! epic driving absolutely love it 😍
This is so relaxing to watch
Awesome driving!
One thing though: the steering looks quite soft/indirect. Is that just an impression from the video?
Nice drifts and very good handling 👍🚗👍
I thought if it’s put in track mode, the instrument cluster flips down? Meaning, track mode wasn’t enabled here?
Wait doesn't the spedo change it's self in track mode? Are you not in track mode?
Is the steering really heavy or does he just like to strangle the wheel and keep arms tensed for the video
Joy to watch someone driving committed in a 720S :)
Surprised there is so much turn-in oversteer? Is that default handling or something you do for preference through tire pressures?
Nice video , good driving : finally saw some real driver driving this car
Who is the driver? That is one brave man
Unbelievable driving! Is such a fast car but looks like a handful, but I like that
Nice chassis balance, I had no idea, no vloggers or journos have driven one properly yet. Rear tyres getting hot towards the end of the lap by the look of it.
It might look loose at least he is actually DRIVING THE CAR . Which ever way you look at it the 720s is astonishing end of...
O piloto domina a máquina e não o contrário! 👏👏👏👏👏
He is driving like a pro, probably he is a pro, and knows the track inside out. One would never deliberately lift off the throttle on corner entry like that unless they were trying to kill themselves.
Normally the little drifts are so smooth...what happened this time? show off lap?
Drift mode
Up to 250 km/h on the 'RING' …. RESPECT ….. This GUY is really able to 'Rock the Ring'.... and it's FUN to watch a GENIOUS..... :-)))
L’argus is an extremely competent driver, but the car’s handling seems nervous and almost uncontrolled with the amount of steering input needed. Tons of understeer too 😳 ATB Peter
Very good driving. Holy shit
Good driver.....and it looks so much fun to drive !
Cool vid. That thing looks a little squirrelly at times.
Car is sooo agile!!! Great driving too. 👍👍
That thing is like a rally car, wow great driving skills bro
I know for a lot of the lap he’s playing. But when he’s trying the thing seems like a massive handful. A lot of see sawing on the wheel to keep it in line. Quite surprising.
Forget that. I now see from the centre screen he has it set very loose. That setup configuration is such a cool idea.
What a drive. Respect. 😍😎💪💪💪👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Pouuahh grande classe.. Magnifique pilotage. Bravo 👏
Ordinary driver with an incredible car
We would love to have the roads full of those ordinary drivers 😂
What a driver !
a pleasure to watch!
It rotates nicely!
Great video! thank you for sharing it with us
The satisfaction I’m getting this shit looks like a movie
Hhmm whats the time for the bugatti and the agera in this track? Oh they only do straight lines....
Looks like the rear tires didn’t have much tread left when lapping.
The drift control is dope
With that much torque and a stiff rear suspension setup, the 720s is set up to oversteer. The only way to avoid this in slow corners would be to upshift and keep it in a higher gear and downshift soon as the corner is exited to accelerate quickly out of it. My 2 cents on the matter!
His suspension setting should have been set to full track. Also his active aero was off as well. If he had trofeo R's the car would have stuck better too.
Now this is how everyone should drive, it's how I drive my modified Ford F-350 crew cab longbed, 4x4.
It's amazing how after all the drifting and slowing to overtake other cars, this thing still posted a time of 7:23
Great to see someone driving a 720S nice and sloppy 😉👍👌. It shows that you can have fun with this car as well as be fast in it! With this much oversteer evident though, were the tears shot??
Normal p zeros. Far from the grippiest tire available
Need to work on smoother input lol Smooth is fast. But good job! Very challenging car and track!
So much corner entry oversteer...good to a certain extend but too much rotation hurts the lap time and is very difficult to controll. Especially on the Ring
Awesome driving love the drifting
Who's the driver?!
The engine doesn't sound like its working too hard.
Steve Harding it literally sounds like it revving up to 4500rpm even thought it’s at 7000. Very under stressed
@@hapesethathi2742 What is the boost settings?
I guess that is what one can say "fully lit"!
Nice Sir! Thank you!
what tyres u running? Looks a right handful and not what I expected.
Normal p zeros
nice round! thats how a supercar should be driven 🤙
