    I studied Arabic and Hebrew for two years while living in Tel Aviv, and I love both languages but it's hard to keep them up now that I live in Germany. I really only got to a beginner level but hope to be fluent someday. So I love your channel!! You speak awesome English, too.

    Of course you're not silly, but you are so awesome in that you have a highly successful teaching vlog and you speak multiple languages and you are such a nice person that one tends to put you in such high respect that we could assume you're somehow 'super-human'.

    I think it'd be better if you write the whole sentence in Arabic because for me, it is kinda confusing to write the sentence in Arabic on my own. Oh, and if you also write the harakat, it would be even better. Anyway, it is very helpful and easy to understand (except the writings problem ive mentioned before lol). Thank you!

    I don't agree that ba3d functions differently to qabl with a time expression. I think they both function the same way. I wouldn't expect ba3d with a time expression to mean 'next year', I'd expect it to mean 'in a years time' which is the real opposite of 'a year ago'. The opposite of 'next year' would be 'last year'.

    plz help me...if we say qabl sana and ba'd sana...why we dont say alqadim sana? right is sana alqadim? whyyy?

    • @sidstam
      @sidstam 10 років тому

      sana al qadim is, I believe, an "idafa" construction: to indicate when something belongs to something (possession), and the "al" is used to indicate this. So literally sana al qadim would be "year of the next"...I'm an arabic learner too, but I think this is the case. Similary "talib al madrassa" would be student of the school.

    • @H0A0B123
      @H0A0B123 10 років тому +1

      we dont say sana al-qadim , "sanat al-qadim" means "year of the comer" .. we say "as-sana al-qadima" which means "the year that will come" or next year... "alqadim sana" means "what is coming is a year" ..i cant explain it to you because i dont know how to explain it in english and you dont know arabic well , so i just told you what it means.
