Thanks for your comments. This Chrysler review was great. Ever since I read it, I can't stop thinking about it. The famous sound of the 60s Chrysler starters (AKA The Highland Park Hummingbird). It was so perfect, even the film industry used the Hummingbird to portray any car starting no matter if it was a Chrysler product or not. I always knew it was incorrect, but I thought it flattered Chrysler everytime I heard it. I also loved the sound of the exhaust of the Big blocks like the 383, and 440s deep and crisp at the same time. Only Chryslers sounded that way. I will follow your advice and join up. That will make sure I don't miss a single post. BTW, I would love to see a post on the 64 through 66 Imperials. They were exquisite. Very strong Chrysler character, but at the same time, due to their Exner, Elwood heritage, they absolutely could have been a future design of the Lincoln Continental. They are practically there already. But as it turned out, Chrysler got the credit for it. And that's cool with me, Chrysler Corporation deserved it, and Ford Motor Company took credit for the Continentals and Town Cars through the 60s and 70s. All but a simple twist of fate. I love being able to talk about these great American cars this way with you Lou and other online guys. Today's generation just don't understand. And that's really sad. They can only talk about the Rice burners that were forced upon them.
My opinion? The fuselage Chryslers are the coolest Mopars EVER!! This New Yorker is an awesome example. Thanks for sharing Lou!! Long live Land Yachts! 🚢
Spectacular New Yorker! It’s in fantastic condition. A lot of long gone styling cues- The rear overhang is massive; the fender skirt; vinyl top, hardtop ; coupe design; mast antenna; quad headlights. A real classic from a lost era. Thanks Lou!
The whole fuselage styling approach didn't do it for me. Chrysler cars lost their elegance after '68 with their heavier look and unusual proportions. Give me a '65 any day.
I worked part time with a retired Millwright, that daily drove one of these. Kept his millwright tools in the trunk, only carried in his tool bag everyday. Bought it new and had a garage full of big old Chryslers that he had bought new over the years and daily drove. I should have bought one of those old cars. He liked me well enough to sell me one, but I was a broke kid and never asked. He didn't smoke, but one of his favorite sayings was that back in the day, he bought a new car when the ash tray got full. He didn't trade in because the cars was nice and the dealer never offered enough. So he just parked them in his garage and kept adding to the garage. I was a 20 year old kid, so I remember the GTX; but I did not know what I was looking at. Clemens Koors was his name; hope his old cars are still around.

Very nice! This car is the best of both worlds with plenty of power and comfortable cruising, too. It's no wonder Mr. Kelly scooped it up right away. Thanks, Lou!
Love those old 2 door Mopar land yachts. I always like the full surround front bumpers and the way the front and rear bumpers are flush with the body panels...very smooth design. Nice car!
A Gentleman's carriage, but tread lightly! The broad smiles on your faces at full throttle say it all! An understatedly elegant (and potent) car indeed! The ultimate "Banker's Hot Rod"!
I’m surprised how beautiful the exhaust tone is. That little cam he put in made a difference. My mother had this car, same colors, but it was a 4 door with the standard 440 engine. Great job Lou!
Love it Lou. Thanks for bringing us this one. I have a soft spot for fuselage Chrycos. Also, that starter whine is unique to all Chryslers of the era. Endearingly nicknamed the "Highland Park hummingbird".
Goldilocks is definitely a creampuff. The motor, interior, floor mats and paint are such a sweet combination. Love the hardtop coupe fuselage c- body. I’ve gotta get my 69 NYer back on the road after 10 years of hibernation !!! I had to save it before it was relegated to the demolition derby !!!
@@matrox Yep, new those too. Bought a 69 383 Magnum 4spd 3:25 posi Super Bee with a smashed passenger side....put that running gear in a 66 Coronet Hardtop that had a busted 318 Poly. Made a really nice car for a 19 year old.... don't think I spent more than $600 on it.
@@godsowndrunk1118 Yeh...my first non hand me down car that I bought with my own money was a 69' 383 Road Runner in 75' or 76'. Kept until the late 80s even while owning about 3 other cars in the interim.
Thanks everyone for the comments. When Lou and I drove the car, the pinging caught me ear too. On that day the entire area was overcast from the fires burning in Canada. With the bad air all around us, and a fresh tank of gas from a station I've never been to before, that combo may have been why the car was having a hard time breathing that day.
I think that I saw this vehicle at the Corvette and Muscle Car Nationals in Rosemont, Illinois last November. I had an interesting conversation with the owners wife. The car is really in excellent condition. You have to stand next to it to appreciate the colossal size of it, especially the trunk lid.
You are correct. I was invited to have the car shown in the MCACN's new display called Big Body Muscle in 2022. MCACN is the best event to go to during the winter months when most cars are in hibernation. I believe there were 47 winged cars there last November. A must see event for any car enthusiast.
I never was a fan of the fuselage Mopar's when I was younger, but the older I get the more I want one. Funny how your taste changes. Funny side note, instead of using individual light bulbs in the instrument cluster, Chrysler used a mirrored backlight to illuminate the dash.
The fuselage cars imo are next in line to sky rocket in value. They are crazy rare these days. They are well known for taking a beating, so many were given to first time drivers, or used in livery, or destruction derbies. Very few decent examples in circulation today.
Chrysler had some awesome instrument clusters...but I think this awesome vehicle deserved a few actual gauges, instead of "idiot lights"...especially with that powerful engine! I would also guess, that the "around town" mpg would be in the single digits!...but if one could afford such a sumptuous car, one would likely not care about that!

As a kid, I took many a ride in an early 70's gold two door, black vinyl top New Yorker with my best friend and his mother going to a state park lake to swim for the day. The huge back seat was so big and comfortable. Great for two exhausted, sleeping boys after a day of water and sun. Never thought of it as a performance car though. But this 440 TNT was awesome! Loved the idling exhaust.
Hi, Lou! Those fuselage Chryslers were some of the most stylish ever to bear its founder's name. A big car made to emphasize its sheer massiveness, and when you see one coming toward you, the keyword here is...GANGWAY!!!!! Especially with the TNT motor! (AC/DC is sure to get a kick out of it!) And this one exudes luxury and class with those plush brocade seats, the aircraft-style instrument cluster, the three-sided grille, the fender skirts, the vinyl roof, the Crystal Dawn paint and those fancy full-width taillights! Just an awesome machine all around! Many thanks to you and Tim for giving us all the New Yorker experience from the Chicago suburbs!
Hi iswc27, You're right, you can see this one coming from WAY DOWN THE ROAD. Happy to share this "awesome machine al around" with you :-) You're welcome, Lou

Beauuuuuuuuuutiful car! My uncle always had a big comfortable Chrysler back in the 70's. He used to haul a popout camper for my 4 cousins & aunt to camp in when visiting in the summertime. They've definitely got some oomph when you put your foot down! 😃
14:50 My 69 Road Runner had the overhead shoulder straps just like that. I pulled them down once to test them, but could never get them folded back up perfectly and mounted like they were before I touched them. In fact back then I never even used the seat belt. Hardly anybody did.
I had my grandfather's 70 New Yorker in high school in the mid 70s and then in college. I actually wore those separate lap and shoulder belts back then, all my friends thought I was crazy for doing so. I could never get the shoulder belt neatly back in place either and just let it hang down when I wasn't driving.
Great car! Nice under hood detail. Looks new! Brings back memories of my dad’s 1971 Chrysler 300 4 door hardtop. He also special ordered the TNT package. That car sounded great. I was sad when he finally sold it in the early ‘90’s. Funny story: when he picked up the car from the dealer he came home and read the owners manual. It said “for proper engine break-in, occasional bursts of full throttle acceleration is recommended”. Soooo… dad said to my brother and me “hop in, we’re going for a ride”. We went right to the interstate and he hit it hard! Memories!
We had a '71 Chrysler Newport given to us in Indiana, back in the late 70's--biggest car we've ever owned. It was three BIG adults--[shoulder to shoulder-wide]--comfortable! Front AND rear.

My neighbor was a librarian and an elderly woman who lived in NYC and came out to the house around the corner from where I grew up on weekends that she inherited from her aunt. She drove a ‘71 300 that I kept looking at. Remember that she was at least in her seventies when she asked me a ten year old if I wanted to go for a spin around the block in it. She put her foot to the floor and that thing left wheels for half a block long.
This is one of those cars that I don't think most of us would give a second glance at back in the day. BUT, today, what a beautiful example of American autos. I love this car and will definitely take notice if I ever see one again! Love the detail of your videos. I didn't know about TNT motors until today! WOW the motor and sound. That is not the sound I normally associate with a New Yorker. LOVER IT, LOU! I was surprised about the simpicity of the dash. It could have come from a low-level Plymouth. When I think about how Furturistic the Dashboard were in the 50's and60's, this just pales in comparison. It's not classy or high end at all...BUT, the engine overtakes everythying! Great vid, Lou!!
What a great car. I love my old Mopar rides. If I remember correctly the exhaust on these was stainless steel. They not only sounded great, the exhaust system lasted a long time too.
Lou, your videos are top notch. This 2 doors C body is amazing. The car is gorgeous, the car condition is fantastic, the color combination is stunning, the interior is pure luxury and in top of that the TNT version makes it unique. 🖖🏻
Thanks for the review of the 1971 Chrysler New Yorker. It brought back many wonderful memories of my early teenage years. I was 14 in 1969 when my dad bought a 69 Chrysler 300. It was a 4 door hardtop, white with blue vinyl top and darker blue interior Being a 300, the 440 was the standard engine, and ours had a 4 barrel Carter carburetor. I received my driver's license in 1971, something I had been waiting for for years. I was able to take it out at times, and while I would never abuse any car, I couldn't resist putting my foot in it at times, like whenever I was on a freeway entrance ramp I thought that was OK since we were expected to be at freeway speed by the time we reached the end of the ramp. That 440 would never disappoint the need for speed. I really liked the fuelsage look Chrysler introduced in 1969. The 300 had hidden headlights and with that raparound front bumper, with the headlight doors closed the front was all grill except for the 2 parking/turn indicators at each end, and they were very beautifully designed it had a total aircraft look about it. The rear was wall to wall taillights with a small space in the middle that provided just enough room to place a very stylized "300" perfectly. We insisted on the 440 because we towed a 17 foot travel trailer on vacations and weekend getaways. With the trailer in tow, that 440 handled the extra trailer weight like it wasn't even there. And climbing the steep grades of the High Sierras, the temperature gage never moved. I was very excited about our Chrysler 300, I wish I could get excited about any car today. It was the 1973 oil crisis that changed everything. That was the end of our prized mucule cars, and our beautiful big, American sedans that loved to cruise our beautiful American highways the way they were made for. It's just not fair and I will never forgive who ever was responsible for pulling something like that just two years after I got my license. I still love everything about cars, and that includes driving them. I feel the same way today as I did back in 1971 the day I got my driver's license. I'm now 68, and I don't think that will ever change.

Back in the late 80s at the body shop I worked at at the time repainted a 70 Hurst C body. I had to do some major repairs to the rear quarters. I never block sanded so much on one vehicle in my whole body shop career. Those quarters are HUGE, In fact I block sanded more on those quarters than most whole cars. I was so glad to see that car go out the parking lot.
¡Saludos cordiales, Lou!
Beautiful car. BTW 1970 was the last official year for true "performance" muscle car era production in the USA, before in 1971 when 1. The vapor recovery system used on ’70 California cars was extended to all cars. 2. Engine compression ratios were lowered. 3. A new system called Combined Emissions Control (CEC) went into production. No quibbles with the rarity and condition of this beautiful car.

What a great Mopar beauty! Never saw the seatbelt holders under the seat until now. A Chrysler exclusive? I like how the seats are period cloth instead of leather, too.
I've always loved the C body Mopars so beautiful and great childhood memories of laying in the back window package tray and road tripping with my parents !!

The Four Door version was my Drivers ED. car in high school with two Steering wheels up front, the car ended up in a ditch when a person who should not have been learning to drive in the first place over corrected in the parking lot due to the Torque of the 1974 440 under the Hood was Floored it and went sideways of the road. I hope that was the last time they tried to drive !

Had a green 71 new yorker with a 440. Loved that car took it to a few shows. Still think it's one of chryslers best looking cars. Wish I still had it. It was so smooth and quiet Had to use cruise control on long stretches of highway cause before you knew it you could be doing 100mph and not realize it.
Tim did outstanding work to his Antique, Classic and Vintage 71 Chrysler Luxury/Muscle Ride Lou. That 440 TNT was a Big Block Monstrosity Titan Power Plant to be under the Hood of that Ride. Great Restoration complete, to bad when the first owner didn’t order Cruise Control that would’ve made the Ride even a a whole lot more enjoyable Driving and Cruising right along in really good inclement warm weather on a weekend holiday trip. It’s a blasted shame of how the Government took away the excitement, experience, the fun the joy, the opportunity and the pleasure of Rides like that. Today’s new cars and suv’s can’t even come close to Rides like that. There’s nothing like having and owning a piece of Americana like that 71 Chrysler Luxury Muscled Ride like that. My hats 🎩 off and two 👍🏾👍🏾 thumbs up to Tim K on his Barn Find Search and Restoration on that Antique, Classic and Vintage 71 Chrysler New Yorker Luxury Muscled Ride with 440 Monstrous TNT Power Plant under the Hood. Back in the early 80’s My Cousin had a 73 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 4Dr, Fully Equipped, Fully Loaded, Fully Powered with a Big Block 4 BBL 440 V8 Power Plant Under the Hood. He would come by our house sometimes to talk with my dad his Uncle. One morning he stopped by our house to speak and talk with my dad his uncle, i was on my way to school my dad asked if they could stop by Duncan Donuts get a couple of cups of coffee and donuts and give me a ride to school while they talk. Lou all that I can say is what a ride, what a ride. To be taken to school so I wouldn’t be late for my first class to be dropped off to school in the lap of Luxury. Oh what a feeling that was to have an experience like that, I was like forget about taking me to school let’s just Cruise, Ride and talk for the entire day. As a matter of fact he said why don’t get behind the wheel and drive that way we can stop at Duncan Donuts grab 3 cups of coffee and a of 1 dozen donuts and drop him off to school and talk about a few things. Again Lou you just don’t know the feeling that I had being driven and taken to school in a Ride like that. To this very day I remember that ride by detail everything including the color. It was a light baby Cream Puff Blue with a Dark Vinyl Blue Hardtop and Dark Blue Interior. It came and had every option that you can think of. What an amazingly awesome beautiful comfortable and luxurious luxury ride it was. Lou I would choose and pick that 1973 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham over these new cars and suv’s that are manufactured today. Because to me they just do not have the class the comfort, the room, the space, the profile and style and power plants under the hoods of the Antique, Classic and Vintage Rides the Big 3 gave us back in the day. Sincerely Yours Truly Ivan I J🤵🏾🧔🏾👔👖👞👟🥾💼🕶👓🧢👌🏾👍🏾👏🏾🎒🎩
Goodday Lou, Love these huge C Bangers, especially with a 440 TNT. Favourite C Bangers & I keep going back to your video 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT. Gorgeous body lines Thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers Louis Kats your number 1 Fan in Australia 👍
I had this exact car in highschool. Mine was a four door though. It was the exact same color inside and out. It also had the Broham package. I absolutely LOVED that gunboat. The trunk was massive. We had to wedge the spare tire under a keg of beer we were hauling once. The full keg was rolling around the trunk like an empty beer can.

Somehow I missed this episode Lou. What a gem this New Yorker is. I actually remember seeing a 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst edition brand new at my Uncles Chrysler dealership. The 69-73 Fuselage cars were a work of art.
I had one like this, it was a four door former prison official car from the Lebanon Ohio correctional facility. It had all kinds of cool police spec features; hand throttle, enormaos alternator, power trunk release, inside rear door handle locks, HD cooling system with aux transmission and power steering coolers and a calibrated 150 mph speedometer !

Lou!!! As a card carrying Burt Ward-like Robin and JV baseball guy, I am easily knocked out 🤣😵😵and easily knocked out of my floppy sneakers 😜🤣. This gorgeously awesome fuselage era Chrysler NY does both. Easily. Hopefully you can throw me in the backseat 'till I come to, man. I Love the front and rear end treatments here, big bro. So much character and classy and combined with those endlessly long aircraft like sides....what an impact she has!! Understated and beautiful interior, too. Like you guys said, combined with that engine-a true sleeper! Speaking of which, I just got knocked out again😵(in my stocking feet). Thanks for all these awesome adventures you bring us, big brother! 😁JV Johnny/Robin ⚾
When I was in High School I had a '71 4 door with the 383 under the hood. It had a 4 bbl that I swear I could fit my fist down either of the secondary venturi on that carb. She floated down the road. Would seat 8 with 4 more in the trunk for Drive In movie runs.

I had a similar experience with one in high school and college. About thew smartest thing I ever did in that car was to wear both the lap and shoulder belts when I drove.
I owned a 71 New Yorker 2 door back in the early 80's. It was so beautiful! A Jeep ran a stop sign and demolished it. I never got over losing that car. I have the grille emblem that my girlfriend picked up off the roadway the next day.
I love your camera work and how it caresses the car. I am such a fan of this channel. Why do I go gaagas, pun intended bec of the gallons per mile of these engines, over these early 70s Chryslers. That bench bucket seat. I had a 74 dart se with that same type of seat. That dart had a vinyl top, and what Dodge called the lighting package, which included the hood turn indicators. I still wish I had that car. It had a detuned 318 v8, which produced only 145 hp. This Chrysler is lovely. I do have my eye on a 72 satellite sebring plus with the 318. The 318 was a durable engine. TY, Lou, for this tour.
Very cool car Lou… I had a 70 with an identical exterior - interior color scheme and the 440. Bought it for $50 for the drivetrain and I’m sure it had less than 80k on the odometer. I just didn’t appreciate the C-bodies in the 90’s like I do now. She’s sweet..👍🏼

Love your videos Lou, being from Chicago the Chevy's & Ford's were the kings in the City! I guess because of the Vehicle cost? A Gentleman's Sport Car! Beautiful Sweet Beast!
I had a 1968 New Yorker 2-door that was gifted to me by my High-School shop teacher after I'd graduated. He'd given me the choice of either the New Yorker or a '71 Vauxhall Viva GT. I chose the New-Yorker as it was a running, almost driveable car. The car was Silver with red interior, pretty basic as New Yorkers go, as it only had the 350-horse 440, Power Steering, Power DRUMS, Power Antenna, Seat and windows. It did have bucket seats though and the tilt & tele column. Unfortunately, as a penniless 17 year-old, I didn't have any money to put decent tires on it or fix the master cylinder, so I eventually traded it for a 1974 AMC Javelin. That trade bit us BOTH in the butt as the Javelin was hiding some horrific rust under several gallons of bondo but we'd also learned that the 440 in the New Yorker was in the process of spinning a bearing. It had enough oil pressure to turn the light out, but that wasn't enough. Still, love the 2-door C-bodies and would love another.
These are very hard to come by. This is a very nice one too. I had a 71 Imperial which was fantastic. And a 1972 Newport Royal. Both were 2 doors. Love those things and wish I still had them. A tornado picked me & the Mrs. up off the road in that 72 Newport. Thank God for Big Chryslers. P.S. I did put L70X15s and it did improve ride, handling, & stability. Money very well spent. Also, the Chryslers & Imperial had the fresh air kick panel vents that should still be made in cars.. They also had the best A/C units in the business.
Beautiful car. I had a 1971 Chrysler Newport 4 door hardtop. Such a beautiful riding care, totally comfortable on long rides. Mine had a 383 4 barrel, but that was plenty for me. 😍

High praise :-) ALL ABOARD! You're welcome SigmaMale1972, Lou
The Imperial 2-door was longer still!
Agreed! 👍
Spectacular New Yorker! It’s in fantastic condition.
A lot of long gone styling cues- The rear overhang is massive; the fender skirt; vinyl top, hardtop ; coupe design; mast antenna; quad headlights.
A real classic from a lost era.
Thanks Lou!
High praise Jeff :-) Such a treat to share the cars with you. You're welcome. Lou
The whole fuselage styling approach didn't do it for me. Chrysler cars lost their elegance after '68 with their heavier look and unusual proportions. Give me a '65 any day.
In my brain, this is one of the best looking cars ever made.
High praise :-)
A beast!
What a combo, a land cruiser with TNT under the hood!
Speed boat :-)
Sir how was it? Tnt, V8 commando and golden commando?
The proper term is "sled".... lol

What a beautiful car to take on a Sunday drive 😮
Hi Don, I agree. Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
These cars are so under appreciated! Kudos to him for preserving it.
Happy read your thought on this car :-)
Very nice! This car is the best of both worlds with plenty of power and comfortable cruising, too. It's no wonder Mr. Kelly scooped it up right away. Thanks, Lou!
Hi TheGunFighter45acp, It's got comfort and power, so it's a "Speed Boat" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Ah, those fuselage bodies...sublime, unique, fab!
:-)
THE Chrysler land yacht. The seat upholstery fabric is sooo early 70s, groovy as can be.
ALL ABOARD !
A beautiful fuselage car!!
High praise :-)
Love those old 2 door Mopar land yachts. I always like the full surround front bumpers and the way the front and rear bumpers are flush with the body panels...very smooth design. Nice car!
Hi Steve, Happy to read you love those "land yachts" :-) ALL ABOARD! Lou
I saw this New Yorker in person. The paint on it looks a mile deep and is flawless.
Hi James, Happy to read you saw this one in person :-) Lou
That gold color combination was so popular in the Chrysler lineup in that era, I just love it! ❤Thanks Lou!
Hi Andy, Happy to read "I just love it!" :-) You're welcome, Lou
A Gentleman's carriage, but tread lightly! The broad smiles on your faces at full throttle say it all! An understatedly elegant (and potent) car indeed! The ultimate "Banker's Hot Rod"!
Hi Jeffrey, Happy to share this "ultimate "Banker's Hot Rod"!" with you :-) Lou
A "Banker" would probably have worn both the lap and separate shoulder belts when behind the wheel.
I’m surprised how beautiful the exhaust tone is. That little cam he put in made a difference. My mother had this car, same colors, but it was a 4 door with the standard 440 engine. Great job Lou!
Hi AustinEVPLab, Happy to read you enjoy the sounds from this car :-) Glad to read your Mother had one too, Lou
Love it Lou. Thanks for bringing us this one. I have a soft spot for fuselage Chrycos.
Also, that starter whine is unique to all Chryslers of the era. Endearingly nicknamed the "Highland Park hummingbird".
Hi LSA chronicles, Happy to read "Love it" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Goldilocks is definitely a creampuff. The motor, interior, floor mats and paint are such a sweet combination. Love the hardtop coupe fuselage c- body.
I’ve gotta get my 69 NYer back on the road after 10 years of hibernation !!!
I had to save it before it was relegated to the demolition derby !!!
Hi Fred, Happy to read you enjoy "Goldilocks" :-) Glad to read you're going to get your 69 New Yorker back on the road! Lou
I was a teenager when this car came out, yet I'd never heard of the TNT option.
Thanks again, Lou.
Happy to read you learned something from this video Gods Own Drunk :-) You're welcome, Lou
So was I. I never heard of it either but as well aware of the Ply Commando and Dodge Magnum eng.
Hi Tim, Hmmm, I didn't notice the pinging, however when it's your car you'll notice all the issues. Such a fun time, Lou
That's a beautiful machine - thanks for sharing with us via Lou.
Love your car! The last of the high performance engines in the big New Yorkers. Very rare car, you don’t see many of them anymore.
What a beautiful and unknown Chrysler, thank you for sharing it with us, sir.

It's amazing that the owner restored it AND actually drives it. Congrats on owning such an awesome piece of history. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure sharing this "awesome piece of history" with you :-) You're welcome.
I think that I saw this vehicle at the Corvette and Muscle Car Nationals in Rosemont, Illinois last November. I had an interesting conversation with the owners wife. The car is really in excellent condition. You have to stand next to it to appreciate the colossal size of it, especially the trunk lid.
That's a big one.
Hi Dave, You're right, this car was there, Lou
You are correct.
I was invited to have the car shown in the MCACN's new display called Big Body Muscle in 2022.
MCACN is the best event to go to during the winter months when most cars are in hibernation. I believe there were 47 winged cars there last November.
A must see event for any car enthusiast.
Love my 68 Chrysler Newport Fastback, awesome car 👍
Happy to read you enjoy your car :-)
I never was a fan of the fuselage Mopar's when I was younger, but the older I get the more I want one. Funny how your taste changes. Funny side note, instead of using individual light bulbs in the instrument cluster, Chrysler used a mirrored backlight to illuminate the dash.
Cars have an amazing way of looking better with age.
The fuselage cars imo are next in line to sky rocket in value. They are crazy rare these days. They are well known for taking a beating, so many were given to first time drivers, or used in livery, or destruction derbies. Very few decent examples in circulation today.
@@LynxStarAuto They were also very prone to rust issues. A problem that has plagued Chrysler Corp since the Forward Look in 1957.
My father had a 67 New Yorker with the 440 and it was a BEAST on the highway!

Hi houstoncowdog, Happy to read you enjoy this "awesome car!" :-) Lou

14:50 My 69 Road Runner had the overhead shoulder straps just like that. I pulled them down once to test them, but could never get them folded back up perfectly and mounted like they were before I touched them. In fact back then I never even used the seat belt. Hardly anybody did.
Hi Nicky, Thanks for viewing and sharing details on your Road Runner :-) Lou

Memories!

Hi Brian, Happy to read "I love this car" :-) My pleasure sharing the details with you, Lou

Beautiful car. BTW 1970 was the last official year for true "performance" muscle car era production in the USA, before in 1971 when
1. The vapor recovery system used on ’70
California cars was extended to all
cars.
2. Engine compression ratios were
lowered.
3. A new system called Combined
Emissions Control (CEC) went into
production.
No quibbles with the rarity and condition of this beautiful car.

Sincerely Yours Truly

I had this exact car in highschool. Mine was a four door though. It was the exact same color inside and out. It also had the Broham package. I absolutely LOVED that gunboat. The trunk was massive.

Hi Michael, Happy to read you're enjoying the videos with me :-) Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car, Lou
Hi That AMC Guy, Pretty cool gift! Happy to read about your car. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Hi Craig, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your 71 Imperial :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Beautiful car. I had a 1971 Chrysler Newport 4 door hardtop. Such a beautiful riding care, totally comfortable on long rides. Mine had a 383 4 barrel, but that was plenty for me. 😍

When was a kid, in the 80s, my dad had a '72 Fury III coupe. And if I remember right, it had the 440, as well.
