What’s your go-to method for the pier? 🎣 let me know if you e tried any of these methods before. Live-lining bait is one of my favorite ways to target bigger fish. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed this episode 🙏🏼
Wooooooooo, slay those fish!!!!! Adapt to the environment, just keep fishing 💪 Also remember that the 1st 30inch snook came w smaller bait. Snook is a tricky fish to catch, and I had luck with an artificial lure. A live worm and cut bait 👌
Love you guy's I 've been watching for 4 years or a little longer. Today I'm finally going fishing ! I was a nurse got hurt from a patient. Had my corrective surgery April 15th. So after 4 years on March 13th, was it's anniversary. Now to go after a striper. So a Huge fan from New Hampshire. if I don't get a fish...I'm still going to be able to hold a rod.
I find that pier fish can be very very hard to catch because they've seen it all. I went to a pier in the Los Angles area and the locals were all using similar rigs to catch these little smelt. That was the target and that surprised me more than a little. I went with light fluorocarbon line and a small mosquito hook with no weight letting the bait drift out with the current. I used a small piece of squid. I should mention this was at night. Instantly I got a smelt, then another, then another. The locals were using heavy line and heavy weights and small jigs, and they were catching some, but I was catching every cast. I gave away every fish and made a few friends with the locals. Then, I used a larger rod with some fluorocarbon leader in a heavier test with a bigger circle hook and freelined one of the smelt out. Within minutes I was hooked up to a very large bonito. I had a crowd around me asking me all kinds of questions, most being locals. My point is that always try something different and don't always go with what everyone else is doing. Use your imagination and when possible downsize for pier fish. Yes, you'll lose some, but your catch rate will go way up! Thanks for the videos. I've been a subscriber for a while.
Love this pier! This is where wife and I got super hooked on fishing. Back in 2012, we were just learning pier fishing and nice local there showed us a Sabiki rig and that’s been a game changer. I put a #16 Sabiki (cut to only 3) on wife’s pole and she catches everything on it. - from Flounder, Trouts, Reds, and Pompano.

Shout out to the local for giving you the info. Great catch and video. Important tip about having the point of the hook exposed. I've seen a huge fish spit the bait after a 10 minute fight because the bait filled the whole gap. The bait was still alive.
I've fished from that pier before. It was just before a storm and I watched lightning get closer and closer for about an hour before I had to leave. Great spot!

Great video, I love fishing Florida especially for snook and redfish off the piers you never know what you might catch. You need one of those nets that you drop down to net the fish. Try the pier at Sannabel Island sometime if you get that far south.

Nice work, I fish the piers a bit and use Gotcha plugs and also live line if possible. Never caught a snook so congrats. Much love from back in BMore..
Hey Skipper. Awesome job i just started watching you keep doing what you doing.. only one thing. I learned that holding fish vertically out of water, pulls the guts towards the tail and it causes internal damage that probably kills the fish after. Please check for yourself as well. Still great job with experimenting diferent baits and catching diferent fish 🐟
I love what your guys do, and the education you give to aspiring and newer fishermen and fisher women. I've been a subscriber form years and will continue to watch your awesome content. But, when handling a snook specially a larger one extra special care must be given. They should not be held by the jaw or gilled, their jaws are fragile and susceptible to breaking when handled that way. Also, they should be held horizontally, nor laid on the ground. These fish, although they are strong fighters are fragile and deserve to be handled properly. The Florida Snook population suffered for many years and is starting to thankfully bounce back through proper conservation efforts. Mishandling of caught fish is causing the numbers to suffer once again. I'm not bitchin or complaining just information because I am sure you guys care. Thank you for all you guys do!

how do you play around with the bait fish you catch and avoid sharks? Where I live there is a ton of sharks at the end of the pier so I'm nervous using live bait to try to catch a larger fish. They even go after our lures a lot so I have to cast far out. Would I just move closer to the beach then?
