What's up everyone! How would you like to see informational content structured in the future? Location based, species based, or based on the seasons? Maybe not even video format 🤔 Let me know down below 👇
I’d say a mix of location/species based. Fishing from a bridge for snook/tarpon, and tips or tricks to help get more hits when fishing artificials. Loving the frequent uploads recently! Keep it up
@@williambenner5550 Snags are very common bridge, pier, or worse the Jetty. If you're in a rocky spot, I found to reduce your chances of snagging is using a dropper rig or knocker rig...you can get really close to structure and have a less chance of snagging.
Great, unique video. I am a Padre Island Texas fisherman. When fishing piers or jetties, take charge and don't park yourself. Your are the hunter, move up and down the pier like Ryan suggests. Get to know your environment, be respectful and help the fisherman first, because piers and jetties are very territorial. If your a first timer just fish and help, don't be a A hole or they will run you off. Once you are a fixture, you can communicate and be an Allie and really have some fun. "fish on" Is a phrase to remember. Thank you Ryan!!!!!!
Excellent presentation brother! I've been fishing for over 40 years and most folks are unable or unwilling to help/explain to others. Very nice, keep up the good work!
I'm from Alaska and I have fished all over the place.. pure Anglers generally are a good time to hang out with and talk to as long as you are not in North Carolina. The locals in North Carolina can be real a-holes. Not only will they be in a hole but if you're not careful they will steal your gear. I grew up in Virginia Beach Virginia and everyone there knows that if you're going fishing in North Carolina you're most likely in for a bad time. I don't know what it is about these rednecks but they genuinely think they own the water. They will take the fun right out of fishing for you. I'm the kind of person that when I see a tourist where the kid I'll try to hook up a fish and let the kids fight it. Some of the tourists come from places that are Inland and they have never caught a fish in their life. There's nothing better than watching the face of a kid who just caught it 10 lb or 20 lb fish for the first time. The kid feels like King Kong and the family has a real good story. To me that's as exciting as catching the biggest fish I've ever caught.
For real! Having a kid pull in a fish which is usually their first time and seeing the excitement and smile on their face is way better than reeling it in yourself. I’ve done the same thing where I fish on the Detroit river for walleye and it’s the best.
Just saw this video. Didn’t learn anything new but it’s an excellent video to show my kid and new fisherman. Definitely going to binge a few more vids and see if I can’t learn something new.
You hit the nail on the head with this video! I'm from the gulf coast, and I've been fishing the pensacola, okaloosa, Navarre, and Panama City beach piers for almost 10 years now, and I can say from experience that the three mistakes you pointed out are 100% correct for half, if not most of the people I see fishing the piers. The other half of the people fishing the piers (myself included), aren't making the three mistakes you pointed out, which leads to us hooking/landing more quality fish. I'd love to see you come fish the piers along the gulf coast and experience what it's like to catch a sailfish, blackfin tuna, mahimahi, or tarpon from a pier.
Thanks. I’m brand new to fishing even though I’m native Floridian. I fish in the Indian River Lagoon. Layman’s terms, perfect! Understood everything and I do like the set up. Makes it easier to process. Now I just need to find out how to correctly put my life on my line. Yes I’m that new😂😂
First time I ever came to Juno pier I ended up hammering the snook and getting a slot in my last hour there... My biggest tip for fishing a pier is to make friends with locals!!! Ive done it on Juno pier and I do it in North Carolina!
Great video! Clear, concise and intelligently presented. I'm a beginner salt water fisherman but not stupid. Thanks for giving me the information I was looking for without talking down to the inexperienced! Subscribed!
Let me tell you my man! You hit this video on point! I wish I knew all of this starting as a rook. You would've saved me so much time and money.. Amazing explanations on your experiences and totally agree with all your approaches! And I'll tell you what...the beauty of fishing is the unknown of conditions...we can have possible skunky days but it's to always find ways around the odds. We can be experience fishermen and still learn new things especially areas you're not familiar with. Thanks for this brotha! Hopefully I run in with you bridge fishing at the keys!
My mother-in-law wants to get out more, and since her late husband had so much fishing gear, she wants to do that. I needed the guidance on these points! Thanks for the help
Very nice and clear presentation. New to fishing. I’ve gone pier fishing in southern New Jersey but have not caught anything. I’ve gone at different times different tides used all types of bait, except live. Have used high low, Texas. But no luck. But I will use your advice. Keep it coming. Good luck with your Chanel.
How to catch the hardest fish. The Hardhead catfish. Just kidding. That's all I catch when I'm lucky to get to the gulf. I liked the format of this video. Techniques are always good to learn.
Good job on this one! I have actually been fishing piers and docs my whole life, but I always want to hear other views on this. Another fisherman might have a different perspective or experience than me, that I can learn from.
During the middle of the day in summer when the bite was slow I used to take a dwarf jack and free line it to bottom and it would be candy to those lazy mid day snook
Hi! So interesting! I want to crochet a pier net! What kind of rope or cord should I use, I caught a stingray in 2021, had help from a regular on the pier! NOW I WANT YO MAKE MY OWN ! Thank you! Novella Gill
Love the tips. Do you have a video or have you made a video about rigs and the proper rigs/setup for your pole? Trying to learn some different ideas for proper setup for fishing from piers.
Here in NJ when fishing a pier, inlet, jetty if someone is catching it is considered poor etiquette to move next to someone who is catching fishing. We refer to this as mugging and I’ve seen man y arguments/fights start this way.
I like informational videos that are FREE! Seems like the likes drop significantly on these types of videos. Doesn't make sense except no one likes school. lol
Its not called 'Catching' . We have bad days and that makes the good days even better! Yesterday I hooked into 8 fish. Big Jacks/Bulls. 3" spoons. I lost 7 of them. Wasn't upset at all. Great day on the Jetty.
Liked the video.. wish someone would make a video about different setups with different size rods and power. I'm looking for a good setup for a 7'11 medium power rod
I was fishing a bridge alone and I was going back and fourth to both sides and this old guy came along and man he was on the other side and I went back over there and he had just caught a fish (this is low tide btw) so I’m on the bank and he’s unhooking throw fish so I take a quick cast over to his spot and man he got ANGRY. He said some words idk what they where but I was to dumb smh. But by the time I reeled in he just drop the fish back in idk did I do smt wrong?
There's a lot if Asian people where I go fishing in the pier. When they see me catching fish, I kid you not they get super close to me and they start casting crossing my line to get me uncomfortable so I can move from that spot. The first time it worked but after a few times of me going fishing there I finally said something. They didn't like it but I didn't like it when they tangled my line and sabiki rig and I had to use a new one, sabiki rigs get expensive after a while.
Vietnamese are the most inconsiderate anglers out here in Pensacola and Navarre piers in my observation. Not all of them but most of them and they come not individually but in a group and they’ll crowd you when they see you catch fish.

You can do videos on whatever is biting or whatever you're fishin' for and explain what you do and why. That would help new anglers.
