  • In this video you will see me catch yet another gray fox in the flat set that has produced most of my catches this year. You'll also see a very strange double catch that I had. I hope you enjoy the video!!!

Thank you. I really enjoy watching the catch pole addition and putting in the crates.

Next summer, let part of your lawn get a little tall, then when its nice and hot out, mow it and then rake it into rows like cutting hay. Then turn it over till its nice and dry, then bag it up and keep it dry till trapping season. Those dried lawn clippings blend a set SO FAST, weigh nothing, have pretty much no prep since you gotta mow anyways, and it looks way more natural than cutting up whatever you can grab at the moment.
Keep up the great videos man!

I trapped a few animals when I was a kid just goofing around with a conifer I found. I got a muskrat and a squirrel the squirrel pelt still in my flighttime kit I was like 14. I got a muskrat and a squirrel the squirrel pelt still It's still in my fly tying kit. Now I'm hooked on UA-cam trapping videos LOL. I'm down in Brunswick County but have no where to trap or put up my Fur.

And with that trap shy one you have left, put in a second trap behind the original and just use a latex pan cover with no peat and use a different batch of waxed dirt if you got it, so it doesnt smell the same. Blend it in better than you ever have and you will pick him up. Fox are smart and really pick up on the smells. I have used this tactic many times to trick the diggers. Cameras are great because you can see exactly where they are putting their feet as they dig the trap they know is there.

Awesome video. Set some traps a week ago just a test run waiting on deer season to end here in GA. Caught a coyote the second night. Was wondering how is your catch box made I see the milk crates but was wondering cool idea.

Keep the videos coming! I have learned a ton from ur info! Did u keep the trap beds farther back on the last 2 sets then normal?

Could you do a short video showing how you put those milk crates together to make a holding cage? I'm interested in doing that in case I get something set up for a live market. Thanks!

Get you a biting stick to stick through your loop so they bite it instead of biting your cable

How much pan tension are you using on the trap. A lite pan tension will catch birds and other varmints

I have fox and yote walking right past my sets! Why? Anywhere from a couple feet to 6 inches. Like the set isn't there..

Welcome to trapping! They’ll do this more often than people realize. Don’t touch anything!! You’ll catch them!

Offset jaws won't hurt them at all!! Caught my own hand and was to busy trying to get the dirt out of my face to realize I still had a 550 stuck on me!!!

      Exactly!!! They don’t hurt!!

In my opinion the offset and closed jaws don’t make a difference other than how high the ears come up which gives a slightly better lock up and can keep them from sliding around as much I don’t like rubber jaws tho I feel like those can be worse than steel jaws I much prefer laminated or cast jaws tho I feel that is what keeps it from hurting cause it gives more surface area

Ain't much worse than a buzzerd in your trap, and you do this long enough you will snap once a lot a times, keep it up...
