EASIEST WAY TO TRAP A RED FOX!!!

I have no farmland to trap except a couple of my own hayfields. Most of my trapping is in the woods in the mountains. I love trench sets up against a logging road bank. Works great for a rookie like me. I do all my winterizing with non ionized salt and pure calcium chloride. Due to to the terrain here any trap that is not right on top of the ground gets that frozen layer after rain due to the dirt washing in on top. My traps never freeze under that layer but that layer has cost me a couple dogs and a monster bobcat this year. My Moultrie Edge Pro cameras have been a game changer for me especially since I work 65 hours a week...lol..... BTW, got my 6th dog Saturday night for my rookie trapping year this year only running 8 traps on 60 acres. Pretty proud of that. Duke 650 pro OS are the cats meow!! Bought a Duke 550 and an MB 550 and a NO BS and I like the MB and the Duke 550 but haven't got them in the ground... The no BS has a leg breaker spring set up but the trap is crude I think....
That’s some dang good numbers for that many traps. I’ve never used the No bs before. I love my 550s way too much to potentially waste money on any other trap lol. Congrats on your critters and tight chains my friend!

Thanks for the great video been trying to catch my first fox and i caught one but i must have caught it by one of the toes and it got out and then had one dig up my trap...LOL

I reset 8 traps yesterday after work. We had a 20% chance of rain. And of course, it rained where I just got through resetting🤦♂️

I'm loving the way the weather patterns move across, and then you follow with the videos. Giving me great insight into what I've done right or wrong on this end of the state. The frozen dirt was exactly what I had up here!! Are you using a 1 1/2" auger on your trench sets? Finally got a 1/2" drill and I'm loving mine just trying to figure which size to use on what sets??
Yes, using the smaller auger bit for the trench sets

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’d reset it right where the trap is already at. But if you’re worried about it, I’d pull the set, rinse it off with water, and let the trap sit out for a few days.

He didn't dig it up because he smelled it. He dug it up because it was not bedded solid. I'll almost absolutely garauntee it. Pack around those Jaws, then pack some more.
As a trapper myself I’ve never seen someone keep them alive… what do you do with them after that?

What do you do with them after they are trapped? Wish I had the time to try it. And for what reason would the owner want bobcats saved??
They are relocated. The landowner simply thinks they are cool and likes seeing them around.

I haven’t tallied them all up. But it is a bunch lol. And no doubt! It’s coming a lot faster than I thought, I’ve still got a few things to do before they’re available. But, they are DEFINITELY coming

Do you get paid to trap for homeowners??
Not usually. Only time I do is if they want raccoons removed or if the farm is a long drive from me

I see you have been using a cage trap right after trapping what is the reason unless it is for relocation of the animal area does your state allow relocation of the animal to other states that require it to be shot on-site?
Unless you do it for UA-cam reasons that is the only reason I can see why unless you are allowed to relocate in your state.
Do you have the rapid growth of the hog epidemic in your state yet?
