Jon Lord is the only one keyboardist could play in a hard rock band (DP, Whitesnake) for his classical roots and his experience. He had the incredible idea to connect the Hammond to guitar amplifier. He's The Maestro, and it has been showed in the years, he's playing yet with a great success. Emerson is the best with synthesizers, but he played in an own band, created around him (ELP also). They are wonderful players... but Mr. Lord is my favourite. Cheers...

Then most remarkable musician I ever had the privilege to hear live. He set new boundaries for all keyboard players while bringing the magic of classical music into modern rock. Gone but very much not forgotten. Bless you Mr Lord!

I saw him with Blackmore, Glover and Paice, in stage with Deep Purple. Jon is a legend forever! JS Bach who plays rock music !
Le plus grand, pour moi 😊🎼🎸

Ir opens this awesome solo. I AM so happy to have the "before i forget" record.
    Never forgotten my dear Lord.

Lord told in an interview that after the demise of Deep Purple in 1976 he was reluctant to join Whitesnake at first and that Coverdale just kept up the pursuit until he finally gave in,well I dont blame David he just wanted the most gifted keyboard player in the biz and Jon is the best ive ever heard.

    • @sex6cult9revolution
      @sex6cult9revolution 6 років тому +3

Absolutely. And Jon Lord was like an older brother figure to Coverdale. It must have meant a lot to Dave, striking out on his own as the leader of Whitesnake, to have Jon on board.

He must be a phenomanally strong man. Anybody tried to rock a 450 lb Hammond organ? With 2 synths sitting on top of it? And to play music at the same time? Oh my Lord...

Sometimetimes I hear solos like this, or a Deep Purple track I haven't heard for years and I suddenly realise how freekin awesome he was, but I never realised it at the time.
The best, bar none. Music will never be the same without our Lord.

Never heard a live rendition of "Burnt wood" (from Before I Forget, Purple Records,1982) before. Furthermore, Jon's use of the Memorymoog foresees parts of his great solos during the Perfect Strangers' tour - the ones he used to do at the end of "Difficult to Cure". Nice addition. Thanks.

Early Whitesnake is very underrated. I think it would been interesting if Deep Purple never reformed and Jon Lord had stayed with Whitesnake to see what would have happened. Surely. Whitesnake soon became one of the biggest bands of the 80's but it might been even better with Jon Lord!

John D Koladner.. the ‘guru’ associated with the radical re- branding of Whitesnake would have wanted any mustachioed band member off the Whitesnake payroll. Hypothetically that would have put D.C in a very difficult place, especially as Jon nurtured an initially nervous D.C at his Purple audition and Clearwell Castle ‘Burn’ album sessions. The D.P reunion was very timely and arguably got D.C off the hook in that particular respect.John Sykes is quoted elsewhere that J.L ‘s Hammond sound dated the Whitesnake’s sound.Things happen for a reason in the big scheme of things.

His playing is only known by the ones that experienced it. I worry that time will erase history. Please keep his spirit with your spirit. Sadly, his spirit is only known if you know it. Don't think you don't matter because you also have a spirit and it is as important as his is and was. Be proud to be you.

    Computer a go go......
Sullo stare bene insieme come persone. Aiutarsi.
Ecco perché duravano così tanto insieme i gruppi.
    Amore e odio.
    Come nelle coppie.
    Furgoncini caricati in maniere assurde.
    Musicarte
    Cherubini
    Robazza
    Davoli a via Labicana...
Un altro paio che non ricordo....
    Insomma prese ....
Un amplificatore per chitarra che si chiamava
    """London city""" ....
    Era ENORME.
Ragazzi !!! Come tre armadi insieme . Pesantissimo....
Quello ci diceva """se mettete tutta sta roba ....io do caz....li metto i clienti....???""""
    Mah !!!!
Io ho avuto Arp Omni , Arp 260 Solina (che bella) minimoog , Korg ms 10 , Jupiter 8 , dx 7
    il syntex ....italiano .....
    hammond b3...C3 + Leslie crumar...fender 73 / 88 Wurlitzer .....
    Yamaha cp 80
    Secondo me !
    Sempre W I DEEP PURPLE.
    Ciao.
