If ONLY you had of added the sizes of the books you were speaking about! I was waiting to hear the actual size of the red box. Otherwise great information.
This comment is quite old so I don't know if I will be of much help, but I've heard the most common paperback dimensions are 5x8 and hardcover dimensions are 6x9!
I've watched several videos on book sizing. I don't get it. Most all commercially distributed novels are about 4 1/8 x 6 7/8. Why is this never pointed out? Go to any book store with a tape measure and check for yourself. KDP allows for this custom size. I just published one through them, bought my own ISBN# and local bookstores are putting it on their shelves as a local author.
That is the British A Format book size, 178 x 111mm popularised by Penguin Books as an economic print size with reasonable text size and line lengths and which fitted into a lady's handbag or men's suit pocket. You will find it hard to get the exact size just with a tape measure as printers do a rough job of trimming books so they vary a fair bit from the nominal size.

Thanks for the video. What is standard book size for a 2 act play?
Sir, your explanation is so much helpful.
When you say 100 pages is that each front and back equaling 1 page or each page side is counted equaling 100 pages?
what is the size of the smaller one you showed?
8×5 Inches
What's the book size of the thinest one
Hi and thanks for the tips. Can publishers sort of publish any dimensions of a book that I have set my writing in?

What if the manuscript is like 280k to 300k words?🥴
TF did you write? A bible?
@@lwrncjms 😃Not quite. But it was fictional too. A supernatural horror novel. Was edited down to 271k in the end.
five 60k word books is what I would do. release 1 a month and create bundles $$$.
@@lwrncjms I wrote a book with 500k words... also struggling to fit it anywhere
