      It's improved a lot since the initial release. This one has fixes and the new oscillator tuning. Erica Synths has a very good record for firmware updates.

    Any one else found the secret drum kits ? Also weird fact about the LXR-02 it will not power on if it has a fast clock signal going in to I though mine was recently broken till I worked this out. Still love this digital drum synth.

      Come one now, you can't talk about "secret drum kits" without telling us the answer ! :)

      Hard to say exactly but I would try a fresh card and a fresh download from the Erica Synths site. And of course the file structure has to be exactly right.

    Hi, recently picked up a used lxr, which was still on v1.1. Trying to update the firmware but i am unable to delete or move the old firmware from the sd card. I also can't move anything into it. Any suggestions? About to create an erica synths support ticket, but I wasn't sure they would help since I bought it used. Any help is greatly appreciated.

      Hi AZ. On the main LXR-02 product page they have a copy of the SD card factory content. Download that and the new 1.3 firmware and drop it onto a new SD card, that should be all you need. Of course you'll need to make sure the file structure is correct but you could probably get that just by looking at your old card. otherwise I can post a screengrab if you're stuck. Good luck!

      @@RichardDeHove posting this follow up to hopefully save someone the same headache. So this problem had a simple but not so obvious, to me, solution. There is a lock switch on the adapter for the micro sd card. Just had to flip the lock switch off and everything worked as expected. Thanks for your response though!

      @@AZ-zf1eu Haha! We've all been there - wrestling with a problem for ages and then suddenly the simple answer appears. Thanks for letting everyone know, it's bound to happen to someone else.

    why does napalm scream whenever i load it. even when nothing is playing the feedback is screaming. i have tried saving it after turning the drive down and back up again to get rid of the screech while on stand by but i dont remember ever having this problem before when i first got this machine and would load that kit. is it normal for this to happen when you use the drive fx? or do you know how to stop this from happening?

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  2 роки тому

      Yes, it's not good to have anything load up to an awful screech! It's caused by the tube distortion on the main stereo output. The fact that so many of the sounds have long decay times makes it even worse. The solution is to either change the distortion type from tube to one of the others, change the effect entirely, or turn down the dry-wet mix to 0. Then re-save the kit.

      As Richard said, it's probably because you have the FX set to distortion, and the distortion type set to tube. This setting will almost always generate feedback unless you change the FX or distortion type, or set the dry/wet to zero. It even says in the manual that it will generate this kind of feedback. Annoying, yes, but it does make some beautiful noise while it's playing...
