    This mock test just shows that even if you fail horribly and things don’t go to plan you can still have a chance to pass the real thing. She did exactly that. Look at the improvement from getting 5 minors, 2 serious and 1 dangerous to passing the actual test with 4 minors. Never give up people and don’t dwell on mistakes, use failure as motivation to succeed.

    11:20 was what I failed 2 of my mock tests on, same road, same corner, my instructor was not impressed but we both learnt and realised I’d an issue with corners and hadn’t yet worked out the implications of my actions. Next day as it was close to my test my instructor kindly gave up his Sunday and we spent 2hrs going round that estate and that allowed me to understand my errors and perfect those turns. Despite failing all my mocks I did pass first time, 3 minors.

    Make the examiner feel safe, focus on the next part. Keep going through the steps as you've being taught. Like top mirror down to gear and the bits in between and embrace the nerves uts time to show you are ready. You've done the work by getting lesson and practice and as long as the examiner feels safe you have a strong chance as the things like poor observation and faults will naturally not be thier

    Honestly she reminds me of myself, I drive well when in my mum's car or just on a normal driving lesson, but as soon as it's a mock test I'm making silly mistakes like hitting the curb on a turn, taking turns too quick when there was no reason to and stalling for not remembering a simple thing like going back to first gear. It gets jarring because I know that I can drive like an experienced driver in things like handling stop-start traffic and moving off on the craziest steepest hills I've ever seen (we live in a hilly area) but as soon as it's a mock test it somehow goes wrong. Obviously it comes down to letting pressure take over my judgement because it's not like I don't know how to deal with these situations, so it's nice to see that she went on to pass her actual test!
    Update: I ended up passing my test with 4 minors! Somehow I was less stressed in the test than in my lessons haha

    A bit of a tip for her, when moving off don't signal until you get gear ready and mirror checks, if there are cars coming from behind you shouldn't be "asking" them to let you out, wait for a clear gap, then signal and do blindspot check

    Absolutely LOVE videos like this! I'm from The Netherlands, had my license since 1996, driving buses for 22 years and I am sooo curious if I would pass a test like this; being used to a left hand driving vehicle on the right hand side of the road, not being used to mini roundabouts, different give-way situations, different speed limit indicators and... hills! I drive a little Citigo without any of the fancy stuff like your Mercedes has.
    If you'd like, I'll book a flight to the UK and take a mock test just to satisfy my curiosity of whether I would be able to pass a mock test with my experience but with little to none knowledge of your highway code. Let me know if you're interested. Should also produce some interesting footage as well! 😅

    Automatic drivers are so luckyy. When i got my first car my uncle was supposed to drive it home but he didn't want to go back for his so he let me drive mine home alone and, of course, i couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It was a DISASTER. it was a petrol car and i had been learning on a diesel car. I didn't know the difference. So as soon as we left the city we got stuck in a massive traffic jam for hours. Uphill. I stalled that car so many times i wanted to cry. Anyway, by the time i got home i had already mastered the clutchwork lol.

    OK...I'm DONE seeing people in comments always judging new drivers based on nerves and what they saw in the video. She passed cause she cares to improve and learn and she IS good enough. If everyone was perfect driver half the driving population won't be on the roads including many of these commenters themselves!!! Rules are there cause some people WILL have a bad day on the road, it's a lot of boxes on wheels trying to compete for some destination...people need to have empathy for the scared youth given how the world already is. Not every win is a certification for PERFECTION. I think this is very much the elitism where people want you to be perfect so they can feel safe while themselves doing the bare minimum!

    Not reading the signs is the issue and control of the car road positioning. Shame because she drove well but definitely a few things to work on. The stall at the roundabout was a shame, she panicked which is the worst thing you can do. At the end of the day other road users have to be aware of you. No need to rush if you stall just stay calm and get your clutch in and release slowly. Hopefully she will learn from this and I think she will pass with a few more lessons

    It depends from person to person. If you are a good test taker, you treat skill as an artform and make sure you are thorough with pointers since day one, I say...no NEED for mock tests, ofc still won't harm to take some but i guess it might be costly for some cases. If you are hesitant about tests, you are treating the skill as a win or loose case, you are looking for pointers again and again, doubtful about how you are doing when you are doing something...then PLEASE MUST DO take some mock tests. Even one day before is good as it highlights your weaknesses and strengths, especially when it's Aman as your mock-examiner. Drive Safe and Good Luck everyone.

    Personally I don't think she is ready to be on the road herself. The driving is fine until she is doing something and others drivers come along she feels guilty for holding them up which then leads to rushed decisions or getting in a panic. Like the parking started good but when a car turned up she gets panicked and the stall is panicking about delaying the traffic. Where it is best to focus on what you need to do and forget them they don't exist. They aint going to drive into you. All she is needing is simply just more driving practice not nessarrily a lesson just to get comfortable been in control. At the moment she doesn't know how to deal with the unexpected and panics about it.

    Random question - is it generally safe to leave your headlights on auto mode? I haven't done much night driving since passing my test earlier this year.

      I leave mine on auto and they will come on as soon as the sensors sense that it is dark, youll see it on the dash too. My high beams I turn on manually but the others are all automatic. Driving at night isn't too bad, you just have to focus a lot more, you've got this!

      Yeah auto is fine, just got to be careful if you accidentally end up putting the fog lights on.
      I’ve always had it on auto, never had trouble

    Question: if you end up too wide in the parallel parking, can you just adjust the way it was done in this video? Weren't you supposed to swing back out and reverse?

    • @Parrot-parakeet-fun
      @Parrot-parakeet-fun 27 днів тому +1

      You can drive forward or backwards to adjust, but I think you will get a minor for control

    • @35koni
      @35koni 27 днів тому

      @@Parrot-parakeet-funhad I known...! I kept swinging all the way out and repeat the same mistake until the examiner got tired and failed me 😅 I would have been able to adjust from standing parallel to the road already, I thought what would be a fail and not just a minor. Oh well.

    19.03 2nd gear . It is dangerous right I'm scared abouts manual because even experienced does that mistake. Why you are car moved that much and stalled usually it stalls before. Others please help my anxiety of seeing some experienced one stalling. Is it dangerous to ride manual car. What people do to recover

    • @ProdxShakes1
      @ProdxShakes1 18 днів тому

      As it was a hill when you take the handbrake off you still have momentum and there's nothing stopping the car. It stalled because she went into the roundabout in 2nd gear and as the car has no power or revs as its stopped in 2nd gear the engine cuts hence the stall. Best thing to do is not panic, happens to everyone, handbrake on, into neutral, turn the engine on, clutch down, 1st gear, away you go

      @@ProdxShakes1 What about the other car on the road .

    • @ProdxShakes1
      @ProdxShakes1 17 днів тому

      @deekshithm7754 realistically, youre only going to be stalling when setting off or going a really low speed, if you feel the car start to stutter then it either means not enough revs or too high of a gear so either give the car a bit more gas or dip clutch, in regards to other cars, who cares? 😂. Everybody has been a learner before, everybody stalls, it comes with experience. Everybody stalls. Just make sure you stop the car with the brake and secure the car with the handbrake. Yeah stalling can be dangerous, but so can just driving in general anyway. Learn how to react in these situations and most importantly, do not panic

      @@ProdxShakes1 Dangerous means if we cross we stall other drivers has time to break. Like we take right turn we need to stop sometimes. I haven't heard any accident stalling. Only in highway it's dangerous

    • @ProdxShakes1
      @ProdxShakes1 17 днів тому

      @deekshithm7754 well i personally would find it extremely difficult to stall on a highway cos you're moving anyway. I think before you get worried about your car stalling you need to understand why a car would stall in the first place
