  • ⁣One of the arguments some colleagues make against aspirating is that it causes unnecessary trauma.⁣

They could be right... if you don't know how to aspirate well.⁣

In this video, I share exactly how I aspirate. The key is to maintain a neutral vector across the syringe as you pull the plunger back.⁣

How do you aspirate?⁣ Let me know down in the comments below!

Yes, I do a three-point stabilization. It is important to utilize the hand holding the syringe for aspiration. I taught this as the standard technique in my phlebotomy courses. The smallest and most common of daily procedures are not with a scalpel, but with a needle and syringe--the irony. I am grateful that you are addressing the topics that are of daily use and concern, thank you.

I love your videos - they are first rate! The difficulty I find with aspiration is that, in a full syringe, the plunger is already extended and if your hands are smaller, it is challenging to hold this needle+barrel+plunger combination length AND pull back. Any suggestions?

Maybe do 2 separate half dose injections? How can you aspirate of the syringe is full?!

It’d be nice if they did that for COVID vaccines.

Hi. I hope you answer, I've read that using the needle and syringe that comes with the filler to aspirate is not possible, is this true?

Dear Colleague - Have you tried injecting while aspirating with your right hands 4th finger? In this way you can aspirate throughout the whole procedure almost without moving the needle

I’m wondering, if as he talking, her thoughtful gaze is a reflection of how she is lost in thought - wondering if he is good in bed…😅 I definitely did not have those thoughts.😊
