Anywhere within a half-step away, Boll is superior, he can keep topspinning it. Ovtcharov did try to do the right thing, when Boll edges over to the backhand side, he exposes the wide forehand and Boll is too slow to cover it. If Boll edges over to the middle, the extreme backhand is another weak point for Boll. Other than that, Ovtcharov is not able to make his physicality tell.

Timo played amazingly here. But I couldn't help but notice that the energy and motivation Dima had yesterday against Harimoto was missing here. This is not to say that Timo's game wasn't good, Timo was awesome. It's just that I felt Dima was lacking something here.
Dima definitely looked more motivated yesterday.
Looks to me Timo had the tactics (game plan, set up... whatever you call it). He could serve, (Dima would find it hard to arrack, or attacked softly) and Timo won 3rd ball, or was able to push Dima back off the table and won the point. He read Dima's serve very well and returned the ball in a way that could take control in the follow up.
Shortly if one was trailing behind he would not look "motivated" as you would expect
All this is crap. The energy shit. Who the hell is not motivated at this level?
Timo just played better. He doesn't let you open up and play your game. Give some respect to legend

Wanted Dima to win cause at least he has one winning record against FZD. Timo has no chance against FZD in the next round.
Otcharov has no chance to win agaist a Fan Zhendong in good shape !
Roger Nguyen He at least beat FZD in 2017, and nobody said Fan was not in good shape then! That was FZD’s first loss to a foreign player and he was considered invincible for the non-Chinese players till that time.
You see that both players are big friends. No annoying screaming - opposed to the Dima-Screamoto-Match. Just looking who's the better player today and deliver some fantastic sports. Great table tennis from both players.

Dima didn't use his powerful and fast back hand as much in this match compared to the one against Harimoto. Why?
Zergoley Nassischneidermann no he didn’t, he played way too much to his backhand. I don’t understand so many of his first attacks going to his backhand, or his inability to take advantage when Dima steps around to bh flick because dima’s footwork is also terrible
