Over the Hill and Far Away. I also like to project me in the historical context of songs. For example, first song of their First album... at that time you don’t know any of their songs, you put the vinyl on and you hear the drums of Good Times, Bad Times... you gotta know you’ve got something special in front of you!
Led Zeppelin never disappoints. The rabbit hole is long and winding. You could just start off from their first album and work through their whole discography.
Why thank you Al. Don't you find its more difficult to choose a favorite. Something that would represent how great this band is to someone who has no clue. If you can only pick one song... What would you pick? I really can't narrow it down to a single choice.
"When the Levee Breaks" is also a wonderful song. It's their interpretation of a 1929 Blues song based on the 1927 Mississippi Flood that killed 500+ people. The worst flood in United States History. A must listen!
In 1977 my dearest late brother Colin was fed up of me playing pop tunes,I was 12 years old he was 26. He sat me down and put on my head his cherished bang and olufsen headphones. He never let me touch these normally,I sat there and this tune came on and within 12 seconds my jaw dropped and I was like what the ????. There it was my music upbringing began. I have been a massive fan ever since, them riffs off page,Jones, bonham, plant blew me away. My brother two years later went to knebworth in Hertfordshire 79 too see them live. I was gutted mam wouldn’t let me go as I was 14. He grew up with some bloody good music in his early years. He was born in 1951 so experienced some of the best music in the 50,s/60,s,70,s. He was into especially Zeppelin ,Moody blues, pink floyd,Santana,Simon and Garfunkel. His music catalogue was impressive and was passed onto me when he sadly passed away in 2017 aged 65. Every time I hear that tune my mind passes back to them lovely years of my life spent with him. My other brothers are into soul, northern soul,Motown. So imagine what my house was like,it was crazy, but I loved it. My mam didn’t forever banging on the ceiling with her brush, shut that bloody noise up you lot. Thank you our kid for introducing me to Zeppelin,floyd,Santana.,. The little insignificant things in life are made all the better with good music in our lives. Enjoy everyone and love the people in your lives. Every day of my life I am blessed to have had my older bro Colin in my life.
Jimmy...great solo’s...great riffs......great improvisational skills.....and also, visually...was a mesmerizing player.....he played with passion and drama...He had signature moves and gestures that were his alone.....fun to watch.
Patrick and George. That's Ireland and England covered. All you need are brothers called David and Andrew for the full British Isles set. Many people overlook that Page is not just a good guitar player but also a good composer and producer. This band could improvise live because they were so connected to each other. They knew they could never find another drummer to do that the way Bonham did, but Plant also said Bonham was irreplaceable because he was a close friend. They never thought of trying to replace him.
"The Lemon Song" should be a part of your Zeppelin journey! Look forward to more.... Excellent job on your reactions guys.... Keep' em coming! Peace.....
Led Zeppelin II is in my top 5 albums. I grew up in the 60's & 70's. I'm 68 years old and it does my heart good to see you guys have the same reaction I had in my teen years & early 20's to this band. They are my top rock & roll band. "Kashmir" is my all-time favorite rock song.
I think Joe Elliott explained well in "Let it Go" ... When he said "Get ready for, the big " C" 😲😆 Elliott and Plant were talking about the same thing I believe 🤔😄🔥
The breakdown section in the middle (the "psychedelic section) is longer in the studio album version. This video chops it down by a minute or two. The instrument that makes all the weird sounds during that section is called a Theramin. Instill love to imagine people's reactions to this song when it first came out (watching folks like you helps me to approximate that experience!). Thanks for the great reaction. Led Zeppelin was awesome!
The BBC used this riff as their introduction to their top teenage pop program (Top of the Pops) for about 10 years or more. All the kids used to tune in every Thursday night to check out the pop charts.
John Bonhan's son Jason has done gigs as the drummer with Zeppelin. When I was in high school during the 80's it was all about Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Janis Joplin, Motley Crüe. Recent years I've been obsessed with Rammstein from Germany. But Led Zepp is still #1! 🔥🔥🔥
The first time I saw them was a couple of weeks after whole lotta Love was released. Page had a busy beard, Plant sported a D' Artaignon mustache . I couldn't recognize them until the first notes were struck. Fantastic!
If you really want your mind blown, check these guys out doing their iconic song "Kashmir" from their Celebration Day concert in 2007. These guys reunited with deceased Bonham's son Jason as drummer, and clearly showed the world that they still "got it!" even while in their '50's. Best live version of this song ever! I PROMISE it will not disappoint.
@Jack Bauer Not trying to start up an argument here, I agree the studio version is best sonically, but I suggested "Celebration Day" as the best LIVE version for two reasons. First, you get to watch them perform, so a plus for this UA-cam format, and second because it is MORE impressive due to them being older & still "rocking it" like nobody's business! Been a fan of theirs since the early 70's had all their albums & was lucky enough to see them in concert in 73-74ish. It was inspiring to me to see the "Celebration Day" footage.
@Jack Bauer I think we agree on most points here, I just am taking into consideration that this is a viewing format after all, for both sides of the UA-cam watchers. Let's face it, MOST of the Zep catalog doesn't have video to see as you know, so it is fun to see the performances when you can. We are very lucky to have it ALL so easily available now.
@Jack Bauer If you want to call me selfish for suggesting taking a look at something that I enjoyed & surprised me, then so be it. You are correct, I have seen it many times and I personally do NOT need to see it through anyone else. I just started this by making a SUGGESTION, not a demand, & I certainly didn't give directions on what order to do it in. I am rather perplexed at how I got involved in this negative discourse with a fellow Zep fan when we both agree that the studio versions are 9 out of 10 times the best. I am just glad younger people are getting there, the journey is theirs. Simply trying to share info has lead to insults, which I refuse to partake in. I would hate to associate any unpleasantness with Zep's music over this from here on out. No hard feelings, I wish you well.
The first time I heard that Psychedelic swirl in the middle with headphones 🎧 on my head was spinning 😵💫 then the drum breaks and then that molten lead guitar 🎸solo it blew my mind! 🤯 Enjoy! 👏🏻🎸😎
Gotta do this one live.....MSG ‘73 of course.....I’m just curious....since you are brothers.....how did one of you become such a lover of classic rock, and the other brother not know any of this music? And by the way...Most of us have not been with you since your first video....I subscribed about two weeks ago....and I’ve NEVER heard you address each other by name. It’s always “dude”. Just sayin’.......but really glad to know your names....so nice to meet you, Patrick and George.
All thru the ‘80’s the Georgia Bulldogs used the riff as one of their cheers. They set up a speaker - the size of a Volkswagen and that bass riff would cause the old Gator Bowl stadium to shake. They could drown out us Gators fans. They riff would sound and the bulldog fans followed with “Go, go, go” then another riff followed by the “Go’s”....wildly effective.
Yes, great riff and extremely simple as it is predominantly E jumping to D and back. That's it! It sounds so much larger than it really is. That's what I love about Page. The man knows how to do it like no one else.
"When the Levy breaks" is amazing as well. Hell all their songs are amazing!! Try the new "Kashmir" song with John Bonham's son Jason.. playing the drums. They sound just as good in 2002 as they did in 1970's. Kick back shut your eyes and go on a Led Zeppelin journey.
This is the cut version, its missing most the middle section before the guitar solo. The Radio stations always play the full version, so not sure why this cut version even exists.
@Jack Bauer Seems the short version was created by the record company back in the 70s for Radio stations to play. They sent out copies of both the full version and the cut version. FM radio played mainly the full version and AM radio played only the short version. So that explains why growing up you heard the full version on FM radio stations. I have no idea why the official Led Zep site promotes this version over the full version. I see the remastered full 5:30 version is on UA-cam, yet all the reactors grab the "official" short version.
React to whole lotta love live version in MSG, then they could start with the first zepp album, led zeppelin 1 and their first song good time bad times !! after reaching the fourth album, I recommend you listen to her live album how the west was won! I hope you get the idea, greetings and what good videos!
Guys some more great bands to check out such as Black Sabbath with War Pigs, Sweet Leaf, Paranoid, The Warning all so good, also King Crimson, start with 21st Century Schizoid Man, and Can start with Mother Sky, and finally The Who, Who Are You, Baba O'Riely, Love Reign O'er Me, so many great 70's bands to explore and these are just a few to get you started.
That was an abbreviated radio version. That gates of hell breakdown is much longer and much more intense on the full version. Of course the song is obviously about sex. And like sex, you can't cut short the most intense part. Can we get a do over please!
YESSSSS! A "Do over" please....... Madison Square Garden 1973 version! It'll blow your minds boys!!!! Jimmy, Bonzo and JPJ kill it and Robert does some "freaky" ad-libbing as well! We'd all be on board for that!!!
When Bonham died. Suffocating in His vomits. Him and John Paul did a heavy drinking Night. Jon was to to drunk to walk home. John Paul put him in His car. They did not consider continuing without him. Jimmy Page had a very Long depression. Drugs ..... He made it back! Looks healthy! A Fucking genius!! Took me a year to figure out His strange tuning of THE guitar on Kashmir!!

Me: That's why Led Zeppelin is amazing!
Led Zeppelin never disappoints. The rabbit hole is long and winding. You could just start off from their first album and work through their whole discography.
You've got that right! Truly the only way to do it.
Like Jack Black said; 'do the Zeppathon - 9 album mecca" !!!
Excellent, brothers!
Reading on faces
how this fall upon new ears,
my memory scores
the uniqueness that's here -
That voice! That hair!! There is nothing subtle about this one! Soooo many years ago but so good today. All you babies discovering this-ENJOY!!
The greatest rock and roll band....EVER!
Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song (Live 1972) (Official Video)
Pro
Heard this song literally over 100 times and that guitar solo still gives me goosebumps.
There will never be a better rock band! Guitars great, drums great, voice great!
The Lemon Song, Ramble On, Ten Years Gone 😁
After those - Since I've Been Loving You, Down by the Sea Side, Going to California
Pretty much all of II, III, and IV, right?
I, II, lll & lV LOL
Very well said Laura !!!
Why thank you Al. Don't you find its more difficult to choose a favorite. Something that would represent how great this band is to someone who has no clue. If you can only pick one song... What would you pick? I really can't narrow it down to a single choice.
THE Most amazing rock n roll voice ever...Hands down. Robert Plant set THE standard for hard rock singers after him.
Truly

And, when Katrina hit New Orleans, When The Levee Breaks became forever associated with that poor city in my mind.

The drums from another planet!
That was a great video! Excellent footage of Zep at their best!
When the 4guys in THE band are arguably THE best at their individual parts, that makes them the GOAT.
Dude, put these 2 Bro's in a movie, where they travel back in time to attend LZ, PF and Rush concerts. Duuuude!!!
I can't get enough of watching Patrick and George! 😍,

Top five hard rock songs ever. Probably top three..
It's so easy to get a speeding ticket when you're driving while listening to Led Zeppelin! It's a must turn up!
This song just oozes swag!
"The Lemon Song" should be a part of your Zeppelin journey! Look forward to more.... Excellent job on your reactions guys.... Keep' em coming! Peace.....
Best hard rock song of all time!!

"I know dude, that's what I'm saying dude..." Ah man, I used to talk like that to my bro all the time, ESPECIALLY about music.
Gotta do it live from Madison Square Garden 73!
Can anyone clarify what he means by every inch of my love?? 😂 😂 Great song!!
:)

I grew up with this riff without knowing who it was from. It was used on the tv show Top of the Pops when they were doing the top 30 countdown
Lol...I got to experience this back in the day...I'm 61
Really like your reactions. Good to see younger generation reacting in the same way as we did when we first heard this music
The bellring of my phone! Epic song 💜

My point exactly, heard this song for the first time in the eighties, will never get tired of this riff/groove.
Hi, thank you for repeating your names for us... Me. 😁 I enjoy your reaction videos. ✌️
You really need to do this the live version from song remains the same. At Madison Square garden 1973

Are you guys twins...if not not more then a year apart. The GOATS! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I wondered about that too. If not twins then who do you think is older. Probably Patrick. What's your guess?
The first time I heard that Psychedelic swirl in the middle with headphones 🎧 on my head was spinning 😵💫 then the drum breaks and then that molten lead guitar 🎸solo it blew my mind! 🤯
Enjoy!
👏🏻🎸😎
Lol. Reaction of fuuuck is a rock and roll compliment.
My first concert LED zeppelin 1973, Montreal forum (Quebec, Canada)
SO many to choose from with the mighty Zep.
I'd suggest When the Levee Breaks, amazing drum sound from Bonzo.
Gotta do this one live.....MSG ‘73 of course.....I’m just curious....since you are brothers.....how did one of you become such a lover of classic rock, and the other brother not know any of this music?

Yeah, we were flipped out by this tune. That's what we call rock. I remember the first time hearing it, 45 years ago.
the live version of this is mind blowing
Yes, great riff and extremely simple as it is predominantly E jumping to D and back. That's it! It sounds so much larger than it really is. That's what I love about Page. The man knows how to do it like no one else.
The theme to Top of the Pops on the BBC for many years.
His son plays Just like him like they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree for the son really good
Words cannot describe how far-out this sounded on some good LSD. (Yeah, I was a bad boy.)
This sounded good to me after I had Kool aid and oatmeal cookies.
Check out the live version of this song from Madison Square Garden 1973! It's heavier and bluesier at the same time.
Dang look at the number of Subscribers you've picked up over the last week. You had 196 when I subscribed last week.
Jimmy Page was also the producer for the band. Some talent!
The part you’re calling psychedelic is jimmy page playing his guitar with a violin bow
I'll totally listen for 10 hours with you
"When the Levy breaks" is amazing as well. Hell all their songs are amazing!! Try the new "Kashmir" song with John Bonham's son Jason.. playing the drums. They sound just as good in 2002 as they did in 1970's. Kick back shut your eyes and go on a Led Zeppelin journey.
@Watts Up Look out dude, you are about to get scolded by Jack Bauer for your recommendation! Check out the other comments to see why.
Love your accent.
You're absolutely right about LZ but for brilliant riffs check out Black Sabbath too and their amazing guitarist Tony Iommi
You two are so handsome
That might be the most famous opening riff in rock. And after hearing it a thousand times it still makes me want to move.
Its called an eargasm😊
Nothing like them live, Black Dog, Dazed and Confused 1973 Madison Square Garden. Immigrant Song live 1972🎶🎶
Zeppelin....The Lemon Song
Bonham, probably the greatest drummer ever, the Power is unbelievable. Closely followed by Taylor for me. The Zepp are legendary.
If you love drums, try Cozy Powell with Rainbow....Stargazer.
I was one year old when this came out 😁😂
It is named after its inventor, Leon Theremin, who patented the device in 1928.
The middle break on the album cut is much longer.
yes
You HAVE to watch the longer version from Madison Square Garden! It is UNBELIEVABLE!! And like 13 minutes long.
I almost got insane !
Dazed and Confused, Ramble On. The Immigrant Song. There are so many to pick from , so just dive in! Great reaction.
Hello from Brazil! You guys should react to "Steve Vai - Tender Surrender" it's amazing!
React to whole lotta love live version in MSG, then they could start with the first zepp album, led zeppelin 1 and their first song good time bad times !! after reaching the fourth album, I recommend you listen to her live album how the west was won! I hope you get the idea, greetings and what good videos!
05:38 Shake for me girl... I wanna be your backdoor man. 😲🤣😆
U like zappelin as much as we all
LZ is in my top 3 favorite bands. 🔥🎶🔥
Glad Patrick is getting “turned on” to them 😂🤘🏼
Pages guitar riffs sound like race cars he must have spent a lot of times at the race track
it's a bit of a marathon but you gotta watch the Zeppelin movie ''The Song Remains the Same''
Guys some more great bands to check out such as Black Sabbath with War Pigs, Sweet Leaf, Paranoid, The Warning all so good, also King Crimson, start with 21st Century Schizoid Man, and Can start with Mother Sky, and finally The Who, Who Are You, Baba O'Riely, Love Reign O'er Me, so many great 70's bands to explore and these are just a few to get you started.
Have you guys ever heard of Sixty Rodriguez? You ought to check him out. Start with the song "Sugarman".
Watch the Song Remains The Same!!
+40 years Best
Jimmy is the man and always will be... you guys have to listen to THE ROVER
Please React to Kashmir!!
Watching #Jamel_aka_Jamal watch the lemon song being performed is worth the price of admission. Hilarious!!! LEMON SONG!!!!
These guys epitomized “sex, drugs and rock n roll”. First heavy metal band.
Black Sabbath night dispute that 😁

Guys, could you react to John Bonham's Moby Dick drum solo 1973. Thanks
You have to do "Master of Puppets" and "Enter Sandman" by Metallica AND THEN "Tom Sawyer" and "Sirit of Radio" by RUSH
you guys have to do BLACK SABBATH start with war pigs live in Paris 1972

Do you have any good rock and roll bands in your country? Just curious.
