I’ve applied v2 on a few vehicles now and it’s beyond impressive. I take my hat off to cerakote as they accepted responsibility and rectified in a timely manner. This is my go to for all coatings now.
Killer results with V2. The fact Cerakote turned it around and sent out replacement bottles speaks volumes. Looks like I'll be giving this a try for my first ceramic coating. Appreciate the video Pan, be well brother 💯
Hi Pan, You have done it again. Bringing us the information for us to make educated decisions. Also nice to see that Cerakote V2 is doing great. How about doing the whole car now so your customer can have the full enjoyment of a nicely coated vehicle. Thank you again for all that you do.
Thanks Charles! We'll see what future plans I have in store for that vehicle. But the customer is happy as I give her free regular washes, and the initial coating job was free too, as I always do for customers when they volunteer their car for a new product test on my end. Until I am satisfied of a product's performance, I don't charge them. :)
Another Pantastic video! Same results here in Pittsburgh after applying V2 on my daughters car. Her car sits outside 100% of the time and the water beading is still off the charts. I had a hard time tossing the kits of V1, so I applied one bottle to the soft tonneau cover on my truck 3 months ago and it's absolutely holding up. The water beading on the cover is crazy good.
@@pierreyounes5650 If you have V1 on the car, and want to apply V2, I would recommend a decon wash, iron remover, clay or clay towel if needed, then a light polish, and apply V2 per the directions. Hope this answers your question.
Great video! I’m 2 months in with Cerakote V2 on my personal vehicle. Water looks like it is dancing off the vehicle when sprayed. Awesome results and so easy to apply!
Well those are some spectacular results. V2 I am glad to see they got the second round correct. The V2 has some good bang for buck now for ceramic coatings. Great video, as always. Cheers
I purchased two v1's and only installed one before seeing the issues. They send me two replacements after I contacted them and requested a replacement to v2. Glad to see this is doing much better.
Great video! Cerakote are making really good quality products! I tried the Cerakote trim to restore plastics and it did a great job and 40k views on Instagram. The only problem for me is that trey are really hard to get here in Italy and I pay way more than you guys do
We don't really have many issues with the V1 here in Malaysia, might be cause by our extreme hot and humid climate here. But the V2 we received and tested about 2 months ago, perform even better.
Just used the V2 last week. I found that waiting 5 minutes to wipe it off was too much time, the coating was tough to wipe off. 4 minutes worked great till it started to get close to 80F in my garage. I set my timer to 3 minutes and that worked perfect for the remaining portion of the vehicle. It was 75F and 56% humidity when I started. Hopefully it lasts! It looks and feels awesome.
Thanks for sharing. Yeah readjusting the wipe off based on your conditions is often necessary with coatings. The most important with this coating is respecting the minimum of 65F temperature for the two hours of curing after the application.
I put meguiars m888 on my genesis g90, I have been highly impressed with it. From application to performance is top notch. I will use v2 cerakote on my truck and see how it,goes.
Another great video , Cerakote makes great products they are the best in the business when it comes to firearm coatings that are far superior to paint . I’m not surprised their car detailing ceramic coatings are of good quality .
Im gonna keep watching you for updates right now I use Undrdog pro plus for my 3 year coating but Id love a coating thats 2 year or so that lets me get the cars out the same day for customers!
I have just today spent one day on my own personal car giving it a quick minor paint correction. I received 2 bottles of Cerakote to try. I installed it on the bonnet and then applied Gyeon MOHS Evo (our standard coating) to the remainder of the car to test. This was partially because I did not realise it was V2 and didn't want to spend time putting a coating on that would fail like V1 would (doh!) But it was indeed V2, never the less I will apply it to the next entry level correction detail I do and gather feedback from the client.
In the process right now of doing a one step paint correction to get rid of the dealer induced swirl option on a brand new Toyota Hilux and have a brand new bottle of the V2 to apply. It’s looking amazing just with the one step 3D One so far. Really looking forward to trying the new V2
Thanks for the update. My dad and I run a Body shop in SoCal. I started watching your videos last year and since I’ve been successfully expanding our services to include paint correction and ceramic coating. I got the first Cerakote kit free after watching your video. I had a very similar experience. Very easy install, and initial gloss and performance were amazing. Though after six months and a safe deconwash the performance had degraded. Would it be worth it to request the second version?
Hi Brandon! Yes you should absolutely request version 2. If you had ordered the original black bottle version, and you were expecting to hear from Cerakote but didn’t, you can reach out to Cerakote at info@cerakoteceramics.com and they will get you taken care of right away with a free replacement kit of the new coating version which is now in a clear/frosted bottle. You can also reach out by phone at 1-866-774-7628.

Great video as usual Pan. It would be very valuable to determine the UV protective qualities of any of the ceramic coatings. It appears that most of the coatings go a good job at protecting from surface assaults such as dirt, debris, acid deposits etc. I've not seen any assessment of the UV attenuation that such coatings provide. While a lot of the assessments are qualitative in nature and somewhat anecdotal, actually measuring the transmittance of UV through various ceramic coating would be game changing . It wouldn't be too difficult to use a UV sensitive sensor under plate glass or plexiglass to measure the transmittance of various UV LED sources. It would generate hard data that would be quite usable. Such an assessment would be relatively easy for someone with your science background. Keep up the great work.
That's always a huge topic for debate. It's near impossible to prove that coatings provide UV protection. Dmitry's garage has tried with many scientific instruments, and there isn't a single coating that seemed to provide actual UV protection. I had discussions with many chemists in the industry, and they pretty much all agree that UV protection is only a part of the equation. Coating companies mention UV protection because it’s easy to comprehend for consumers. In reality, coatings provide protection against oxidation, they do so through blocking air, moisture, dirt, and UV. So it's not that they necessarily contain UV "blockers" like your clear coat does. Keep in mind the majority of the UV protection is from your clear coat. The clear coat actually has UV blockers baked right into it. Hence why we need to protect that clear coat layer with something else on top that can keep the clear coat safe and doing its thing. So I wouldn't overthink the moment when it comes to paint protectants giving actual UV blocking. None has proven that they can actually do that specific task. The takeaway is that your clear coat provides your paint with all the UV blocking it needs.
Installed the old cerakote last week after polishing the car in the same way as on your Porche with DIY products including the app. After allowing the coating to harden in full sunlight the deep warm glow is overwhelming! After 2 days water sprayed on a side panel, crazy water beading! The car will be back next week for a first wash. I'm curious. CSL + EXO V5 was installed on my car a year ago but after less than a year the lower side panels start to flake. Decontamination washes no langer help. If I had to apply a new coating, it would be the new cerakote V2.
Thanks for all of your testing. Just like to ask what happens when a ceramic coating starts to fail? Does it start to peel or flake? How hard is it to remove the failing product? Thanks again.
Hi Pan, thanks for the video. I appreciate you taking the time to make an update video. 10:40 can you explain what you meant by exothermic reaction when IronX was applied? Is there a drop in H+ that causes it to be slightly acidic?
Correct. In the bottle, most iron removers are pH neutral. Once they are sprayed on the surface and start to react, the chemistry becomes slightly acidic due to the exothermic reaction (releases heat). Not super important to know for the end user, it’s really just me geeking out and giving scientific information to my viewers hehe.
Dang that square would kill me 😂 Same killer results for me! Colorado climate, about 3 months as well on a 100% outdoor living car. All of the V1 drama aside, I feel that V2 deserves a top 3 pro-grade in your upcoming awards!
Hi Pan, love to see your videos. I have a question is it safe to use a wiper fluid for the paint or any protection? I usually use water for my wiper blades but where I live we have hard water so it creates some water spots on my paint.
It’s good to see that it’s doing what it should be doing. I have v1 on my work truck still, doing good on the vertical panels, the horizontal ones are showing some signs of wear tho after around 3 months. Applied at the beginning of the warm season here, so temp wasn’t an issue. More or less was a practice vehicle for me, I’m going to apply the v2 to my wife’s car I believe 👍🏻
It will depend what I do with this vehicle. I can't always guarantee to get vehicles back in as I want just for videos. People have busy lives, understandably so, and they don't really care about a UA-camr making videos haha. Also, I will perhaps have plans of repolishing the entire vehicle and applying a coating on the entire car in the future. Who knows.
Hahaha thankfully the majority do, and they are happy to have a video souvenir of me working on their vehicle. Sometimes, some allow me to film their reactions and it just makes me so happy to see their smiles!
Just installed that on a brand new honda civic , the customer was amazed of the outcome, i applied the version 1 on my can 7 days ago so im excited to see tge outcome . Brother pan follow me on my journey!!!!
@@PanTheOrganizer I live in Central, TX Temperature when I applied it was around 90° F and it was in a shaded area. It's holding up really good. I applied it to my brother's work truck he works in a very muddy environment. And keeps up with a maintenance wash every 2 weeks. It's been 6 months since.
@@CerakoteCeramicCoatings Already love your products a lot Wil try V2 this weekend for a customer that requested it. I will be keeping a close eye on it for the next year or so see how it holds up. Really excited about it
Pan, did Ver. 1 fail because of lower temps during install or was it a failure across the board no matter the install temp? I ask as I used Ver. 1 on my 17’ Toyota 86 with a temp of height 70s low 80s (F) and it seems after 2 months to still have all its gloss, slickness and hydrophobic properties. Will it end up fully failing on me? Can I topcoat with a good spray ceramic to try and hold it together for an extended time? Thanks ahead for your help and guidance and keep up the great work!
Hard to know. All they said was an issue with the curing mechanisms in certain conditions with V1 so we can only speculate. I wouldn’t recommend risking applying V1. Just get V2. If V1 is still doing good for you, then perhaps it’s ok. You seem to have been in a warmer climate when you applied so perhaps yours will be ok. You’ll see if the hydrophobic properties stay strong or not over time.
I am still on the fence about true ceramic coatings. They are always being improved with new versions. For now I will stick with my hybrid ceramic spray wax and recoat every 5 or 6 months. Good informative video Pan. 🇨🇦👍👍
Any protection constantly gets improved, including sprays. A few years ago we couldn’t find anything that would last more than 1-2 months. Now we have sprays that can last 6-12 months. Same applies to coatings. In 2018, CarPro was the king of the hill with CQuartz UK 3.0 which lasted 2 years if you applied two layers. Now we have one layer coatings that claim 5+ years. A true coating will still always best any spray on the market for sure. So no need to be on the fence about that. ;)
They said they emailed everyone they could who had ordered the first version.
Great video as always Pan! I’m interested to see the one year mark performance. It’s good to see it’s doing well in a winter climate area. I will be doing an update video myself at the 6 month mark and interested to see and compare the results! 😃🤝👍🏻
Hey thanks man! Just to be clear though, V2 was applied in April 2024 on this vehicle, so hasn't been through a winter season yet. I saw your video of the 1 month update by the way, and it seemed doing well for you as well, until you used Koch Chemie Rs (Reactivation Shampoo), and then it turned to sheeting from what you seemed to be saying. Rs has a pH 1.0 so is super acidic, and is likely beyond the chemical resistance window of most coatings, which is usually pH 2 or 3, up to pH 12 or 13. What are your thoughts on that? KCx says that the Reactivation Shampoo is supposed to remove mineral deposits (salt) and limescale buildup, to restore hydrophobic properties of coatings, but who knows if all coatings can resist that.
@@PanTheOrganizer oh yea my apologies I misspoke thinking you guys were getting snow at this time. Nice! Yes that’s good point, I think I read somewhere that even though it’s PH 1 in the bottle, when you mix it with water and it dilutes the PH changes and is not as low and closer to neutral. However it wasn’t the KC reactivation shampoo that changed it from beading to sheeting, if anything it helped the coating, but rather it was carpro water spot remover that did that. The issue was that I let it dwell for about 2.5 mins and it’s only supposed to be on there max 1 min so it was a user error. It’s still repelling water fine, but just not in the form of tight water beading. BTW, I’d love to do any form of collaboration with you! 🤝🙋🏻♂️
Oh yeah for sure never let water spot removers dwell for too long, and certainly not the Spotless 2.0 as it's super strong acidic stuff. Most water spot removers just require spray on rinse off, and sometimes a spray on, wipe with a microfiber mitt or towel, and rinse after one minute. Also, perhaps you had an expired product? Most chemicals have a 1 to 2 year maximum shelf life, if stored correctly and not frozen. CarPro products also usually have expiry date on the bottom of the bottle. ;) And yeah continue doing good things with your channel! I love to offer a chance to smaller channels to get grow when they reach approximately 10K subscribers. I want to make sure they are there for the right reasons, doing good things for the detailing community, and not just there to make a few bucks or a few videos and disappear. So continue working hard, grinding to produce good videos, and when the day comes, we'll revisit the possibility of having you come over to my channel for a collab. Cheers!!
@@PanTheOrganizer yea those are all good reminders and points to bring up, thanks. However it was just the fact that I forgot how much dwell time was needed. Yea man that sounds good, your approach to it is very logical and makes sense. I just saw you do a video with a couple other detailers who had much less than 10k like Mike G, EC, SOC so I thought I’d ask also but yea I totally understand your reasoning. I own and run a detailing business, and I’m a certified & skills validated Detailer with the IDA and working towards becoming a RT (Recognized Trainer) so I’m not in this to make a quick buck or anything like that but I appreciate your feedback and the fact you do give smaller channels the chance to do videos with you once you feel is appropriate. I will continue working and producing content like you mentioned. Thanks Pan 🤝🙏🏻

Big question since we are fellow montrealers. Is ceramic coating good for winter and if how much can we expect from one application for our ruthless snowy winters
Make a video how total remove a ceramic coating and to reapply a new one or if you messed up on one side how to re-apply or remove and correct it I think that would be a good video for us
So I purchased it and I live in Florida. I’m Not too crazy about the beading on it. The product does say you need to install in 60 degrees and I couldn’t even if I tried. I might try again in winter time.
It's actually a minimum temperature of 65F for 2 hours after the application, while the coating is curing, before you expose it to moisture or water. The hydrophobics are actually top shelf. I'm surprised you don't like the beading on V2. Other than my professional grade C6 Ceramics Hydro that's on my new Porsche, and the pro grade Roar Coatings that was applied on my previous 911 Turbo S, which have superior hydrophobics but those coatings cost several hundreds of dollars, the Cerakote V2 has excellent hydrophobics really. What have you tested that you prefer the hydrophobics? I'm curious. Did you do proper prep, application, 65F curing for 2 hours, etc?
You’re in luck. I have a video on pressure washer recommendations at different price points here: ua-cam.com/video/_UwK_0VDK0o/v-deo.htmlsi=ROAFRlG2Ub1P3IQw
It has all the normal attributes of ceramic coatings. Gloss, slickness, hydrophobics, chemical resistance, UV protection, etc. You saw the chemical test in this video right? Pretty much all the ceramic coatings have the same basic attributes. It's how strong those attributes are that separate the best from the rest.
Descale should only be used on an "as needed" basis, meaning when you see water spots or have mineral buildup. It shouldn't be used for regular weekly washes according to CarPro. They have CarPro Reset for regular washes.
Good! But don't forget, regular washing of the car is also a great way to maintain a coating's performance, and prevent water spotting accumulation too. Washing just once every 3 months is not enough in my opinion. I wash my car twice weekly haha. But certainly, once or twice a month would be my recommendation.
Don’t apply waxes on top of ceramic coatings. You’d be masking the coating’s superior properties. On coatings, you can use ceramic or graphene sealants for maintenance.
Hi Pan. What would you recommend as far as equipment, pad and polish for glass? I have well water and the sprinklers have left a haze on my glass that won't come out with regular washing and trace-less. Thanks again for the advise and knowledge you share!!
I have a question about reapplying ceramic graphene spray from adams. What do I need to do to the car before i reapply the adams ceramic graphene spray?
The best is always to decon wash, iron remover, clay, machine polish, paint prep spray and then reapply a fresh layer. Best results for performance and durability. The bare minimum is to wash, iron remover, clay and reapply.
You can't compare a $300 coating to a $30 coating. The Hydro is in another league, but costs TEN times the amount of the Cerakote. So for value, the Cerakote crushes pretty much anything in its path with V2 so far. For pure performance, gloss, hydrophobics, self-cleaning, slickness, Hydro is the best coating I have tested so far. Both are stupid easy to apply. A slight edge to the Hydro for application which only requires 1 hr curing, and has a wider range of temperatures in which you can apply it. Also, only professionals can buy Hydro, while everyone can purchase Cerakote V2. So the Cerakote is more accessible. You could buy the Hydro Lite, consumer version, but that's also $300.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the response Pan! I just remember when you applied V1 and it was one of the hydrophobic ones you’d been around if I remember correctly. Was just curious how I stacked up.
Yeah things progress a lot in the coatings world, and new coatings are always popping up. A coating can be great one day, and be surpassed the next. Competition pushes innovation which benefits us consumers in the end, as we know there will always be better and better products coming out. And even Hydro will eventually be surpassed one day, there's no doubt about it.
Great video just ready to apply myself , temps here in ontario are all over the place , 25 feel like 30 when i apply but only 14 overnight Will it be ok or should i wait for diff temps Thanks
I would follow their instructions to a T. They say to let the coating cure at 65F or higher for a full 24hrs after application. That means 18.3C or higher during that time. If you don’t have a heated garage where you can maintain that temp, I wouldn’t recommend applying it.
Never apply a coating without proper prep. If you have an existing coating, you’ll have to machine polish it off, then use a paint prep spray and then apply V2.
Why your water from PW comes out that good and with good angle pressure, does it have to do with the brand? I got the active 2.3 but you get a good pressure only when working close.
My Kranzle 1122TST is a much higher end unit compared to the Active 2.3, so I wouldn't compare both machine, as the Kranzle is several times more expensive, especially when you include the Mosmatic gun and wand. You're looking at $2000 USD for the pressure washer, and $643 USD for the gun, wand and nozzle kit. So you're at almost $2700 USD for the package. I use a 40 degree, 4.5 orifice nozzle to wash cars. That's the correct orifice size to maximize water flow with my Kranzle.
Would this coating be okay on interiors, leather Honda seats, and glass? They sent me 4 free bottles and I haven’t opened them yet and I’ve had them probably 5 months
I know you said cerakote version two doesn’t require a topper however, if I wanted to apply a topper. How much time should I allow between applying cerakote version two and applying a cerakote spray topper?
Impossible to know until real world testing in the coming years is done as Cerakote never gave us a durability claim in terms of years unfortunately. So I don’t have a crystal ball to guess.
Hi, buying a new car from dealership in next few days. After some researh looks like i will be using Cerakotes Ceramix v2 due to ease of use/performance, What steps should be used to prep to use this brand new car off the lot? Want to make sure i get everythting right the first time around ti have lasting results.
First, congrats on your new car! But keep in mind, a new car is never new until it's properly detailed. - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example. - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat. If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well. I explain all of this in this popular video: ua-cam.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/v-deo.html So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers: Audi RS6 Avant Performance: ua-cam.com/video/L5SQ0ZIJCj0/v-deo.htmlsi=mcQiMs9HBLlaqjGK Mercedes AMG GT 63 Coupe: ua-cam.com/video/4Kznrg3Z31o/v-deo.html Mercedes S 580: ua-cam.com/video/Vq_tfcwryVI/v-deo.htmlsi=whord2_UEFSg28UW Tesla Model 3: ua-cam.com/video/uV7QWwyuPL4/v-deo.html Aston Martin Vantage: ua-cam.com/video/OKga3yZVTqo/v-deo.html Volvo XC60: ua-cam.com/video/tvDBBenhYFA/v-deo.html Porsche 911 Carrera: ua-cam.com/video/2ckiivbFqs4/v-deo.html Audi Q7: ua-cam.com/video/t7HCBSVnizM/v-deo.html

Pan, we've commented back and forth a few times about coatings but I have another question for you. Since your in Montreal, have you ever tried duckpin bowling. I believe the Canadian way of saying it is "petite quilles." I'm from Pittsburgh and we used to come up to Montreal play this game. It's very unique and only popular in Pittsburgh and Montreal. And if so, which lanes have you been to. Thanks again Rich
The curing time hasn't changed. It's still 2 hours of curing before exposing to water or rain. What changed in V2, according to Cerakote, is the chemistry, more specifically the curing mechanisms. In V1, there were issues in certain conditions where the coating wasn't curing properly. And this time around, they also made sure to include more specific instructions, like making sure the coating cures at a minimum temperature of 65F for the two hours. All the info is in my previous video here: ua-cam.com/video/att6sWQG-WE/v-deo.htmlsi=6L5gCherLjkMVpIB

Hello, I have a question ✋🏻 My car doesn’t have a ceramic coating on it and I bought high speed wax from sonax. Should I use that wax once a month and use a detailer every time I wash the car in between while drying? What confuses me is that the brilliant shine detailer from sonax also has carnauba wax in it.
If you wax your car, yes you can use a quick detailer (like the Sonax BSD) as a drying aid when towel drying your car after each wash if you want. Using a quick detail spray as a drying aid (or drying lubricant) helps prevent marring on the paint, all while boosting gloss and slickness. Welcome to my channel. I wish you would have tested it on the windshield again to see how it'd fare under the wiper blades and hold up in general. Seems to be doing pretty well otherwise. I'm undecided on what to pick between the DIY 5 year (maybe 8 year) and this.

Thank you for the great review!
Thanks for sharing! Did you apply V1 or V2 on your daughter's car?
@@PanTheOrganizer V2. Sorry about that. Just ordered more!
Im still one V1 i have V2 in the box haven't applied it yet. What do you recommend before applying V2?
@@pierreyounes5650 If you have V1 on the car, and want to apply V2, I would recommend a decon wash, iron remover, clay or clay towel if needed, then a light polish, and apply V2 per the directions. Hope this answers your question.
I am so glad that you brought up the point of the coating reducing the soap foam. I bought a new wash mitt and thought that was the problem.
Now you know. You'll always learn new things by watching my videos. :)
Just applied to my sister's car. Application wasn't too bad for the most part. Can't wait to see the long-term results. Great vid, Pan!

Got my replacement bottles and highly recommend both product and company … Cerakote appreciate your integrity !!
Brilliant news ! great results for a ceramic coating that cures in 2 hrs , game changer for sure ! Thanks for the video Pan .

Thanks for the report on how it survived, now you can do the whole car! I have a bottle ready to reapply to the previous failed test vehicle
We'll see what future plans I have for this car...
Great video! I’m 2 months in with Cerakote V2 on my personal vehicle. Water looks like it is dancing off the vehicle when sprayed. Awesome results and so easy to apply!

That looks very promising. Can't wait to see how coating will do in Canadian winter. Keep us update. Thanks for the video.

Well those are some spectacular results. V2 I am glad to see they got the second round correct. The V2 has some good bang for buck now for ceramic coatings. Great video, as always. Cheers

Thanks Mike!
I purchased two v1's and only installed one before seeing the issues. They send me two replacements after I contacted them and requested a replacement to v2. Glad to see this is doing much better.
How was V1 doing in your conditions? Were you in a warm or cold climate?
Wow!! Looks like they got it right this time around!!! Thank you for continuing to clear the air for this brand!!
You bet!
Great video! Cerakote are making really good quality products! I tried the Cerakote trim to restore plastics and it did a great job and 40k views on Instagram. The only problem for me is that trey are really hard to get here in Italy and I pay way more than you guys do
Thanks !

And as always I live the real world comparisons that you do on every day driver cars as well
Thanks Joseph! I appreciate your show of support as always! 👍🏻
We don't really have many issues with the V1 here in Malaysia, might be cause by our extreme hot and humid climate here. But the V2 we received and tested about 2 months ago, perform even better.
Good to know!
@@CMAutoDetailing-g7k I’m from Malaysia, after watching Pan’s video I’m thinking of doing this for my car too, may I know where is your shop?
Thanks for using our product Blake!
I put meguiars m888 on my genesis g90, I have been highly impressed with it. From application to performance is top notch. I will use v2 cerakote on my truck and see how it,goes.
Thanks for the follow up Pan, great video as always!

Looks like it’s holding up well. I’m glad they sorted out the issues with it. I’ll certainly add a bottle of this to put on a vehicle at some point.
Yeah it seems they got it right. 👍🏻

Im gonna keep watching you for updates right now I use Undrdog pro plus for my 3 year coating but Id love a coating thats 2 year or so that lets me get the cars out the same day for customers!
Excellent video mate!

I have just today spent one day on my own personal car giving it a quick minor paint correction.
I received 2 bottles of Cerakote to try. I installed it on the bonnet and then applied Gyeon MOHS Evo (our standard coating) to the remainder of the car to test.
This was partially because I did not realise it was V2 and didn't want to spend time putting a coating on that would fail like V1 would (doh!)
But it was indeed V2, never the less I will apply it to the next entry level correction detail I do and gather feedback from the client.
Pretty cool looking stuff. Hey! That pressure washer is pretty quite. Thanks Pan.

We agree!
Applied the v2 and really satisfied! I like to think my feedback of saying the bottles should be transparent to see how much is left actually worked 😅
I have requested a try and V2 based on the resistance and performance on both the horizontal and vertical squares that I have seen on this vehicle.
two weeks on this coating, so far impressed from first version. After a rain storm water just flies off. I have not placed a topper on it? Should I
There is no need for toppers with this coating, but you certainly can apply one of your choice if you want to.
Absolutely request it! I got the v1 and never even got around to using it and they sent me the v2 no questions asked, after I requested it
Hi Brandon! Yes you should absolutely request version 2.

Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thank you!
Awesome video and product update good friend
Thank you 👍
Thanks for all of your testing.
Yeah I feel the finally got it right with V2. This is what V1 should have been. So for its price point, it's for sure great value for money.

Yeah V2 is what V1 should have been.

Once again, Pan….a useful follow-up! Thanks! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Pan, when you returned the vehicle to the owner did you remove the v1 coating and applied the v2?
No, as I’m still not sure of what I’ll do with this car yet. She gets free detailing sessions for the meanwhile, so she’s super happy.
So no need to be on the fence about that. ;)
Dang Pan!! That’s crazy. You really let us see how it works. 😮
Thanks Kenny!

CarPro products also usually have expiry date on the bottom of the bottle. ;)
And yeah continue doing good things with your channel!

Yes. No toppers needed but you can use their ceramic spray sealant if you want to.
Big question since we are fellow montrealers. Is ceramic coating good for winter and if how much can we expect from one application for our ruthless snowy winters
What’s your budget?
I try the first one liked it the second one I loved it put it on my wife’s car four months ago still good👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤝🍷
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the review!
Make a video how total remove a ceramic coating and to reapply a new one or if you messed up on one side how to re-apply or remove and correct it I think that would be a good video for us
The only way to fully remove an existing coating is by machine polishing. There is no magic trick. Just manual labour.
So I purchased it and I live in Florida. I’m
Not too crazy about the beading on it.
What pressured washer and foam cannon should I buy if I am on a budget?
You’re in luck. I have a video on pressure washer recommendations at different price points here: ua-cam.com/video/_UwK_0VDK0o/v-deo.htmlsi=ROAFRlG2Ub1P3IQw
Besides water repellency and shine, is there any protection like UV, Chemical resistance ???
It has all the normal attributes of ceramic coatings. Gloss, slickness, hydrophobics, chemical resistance, UV protection, etc. You saw the chemical test in this video right?
Pretty much all the ceramic coatings have the same basic attributes. It's how strong those attributes are that separate the best from the rest.
@@PanTheOrganizerthanks so much
Hey pan isnt descale a good soap to remove water minerals and maintain a ceramic coating?
Descale should only be used on an "as needed" basis, meaning when you see water spots or have mineral buildup. It shouldn't be used for regular weekly washes according to CarPro. They have CarPro Reset for regular washes.
@@PanTheOrganizer yeah it's what I've been using , reset once every 3 months just to maintain the coating
Good! But don't forget, regular washing of the car is also a great way to maintain a coating's performance, and prevent water spotting accumulation too. Washing just once every 3 months is not enough in my opinion. I wash my car twice weekly haha. But certainly, once or twice a month would be my recommendation.
My question is could I use other wax products after initial application of this particular product?
Don’t apply waxes on top of ceramic coatings. You’d be masking the coating’s superior properties.
On coatings, you can use ceramic or graphene sealants for maintenance.
Hi Pan. What would you recommend as far as equipment, pad and polish for glass? I have well water and the sprinklers have left a haze on my glass that won't come out with regular washing and trace-less. Thanks again for the advise and knowledge you share!!
ua-cam.com/video/yMi5PtyqUI8/v-deo.htmlsi=i39t0sCSQdF4l44s
I have a question about reapplying ceramic graphene spray from adams. What do I need to do to the car before i reapply the adams ceramic graphene spray?
The best is always to decon wash, iron remover, clay, machine polish, paint prep spray and then reapply a fresh layer. Best results for performance and durability.
The bare minimum is to wash, iron remover, clay and reapply.

See my video on the 15 best car shampoos perhaps one is available in the Philippines: ua-cam.com/video/kWSQSpD0Rww/v-deo.htmlsi=7GloCx8CDPA5jbC8
How do you think version 2 compares to your hydro?
I'm very curious to this question as well!
Great video just ready to apply myself , temps here in ontario are all over the place , 25 feel like 30 when i apply but only 14 overnight
Will it be ok or should i wait for diff temps
Thanks
I would follow their instructions to a T. They say to let the coating cure at 65F or higher for a full 24hrs after application. That means 18.3C or higher during that time.
If you don’t have a heated garage where you can maintain that temp, I wouldn’t recommend applying it.
Still on V1 and V2 still in the box. What do you recommend to apply V2? Just a regular wash and apply?
This is for exterior use only.
I know you said cerakote version two doesn’t require a topper however, if I wanted to apply a topper. How much time should I allow between applying cerakote version two and applying a cerakote spray topper?
Wait two weeks after the application. Then you can start using which ever toppers you want.
Looks good thanks!!
Thanks for watching!
Hey pan i waych alot ur video in ur thoughts wpuld this be 3 or 5 year coating , applied correctly
Impossible to know until real world testing in the coming years is done as Cerakote never gave us a durability claim in terms of years unfortunately. So I don’t have a crystal ball to guess.
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks pan !!
- vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
- vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
- at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
- at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery.
I explain all of this in this popular video: ua-cam.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/v-deo.html
So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers:

Pan, we've commented back and forth a few times about coatings but I have another question for you. Since your in Montreal, have you ever tried duckpin bowling. I believe the Canadian way of saying it is "petite quilles." I'm from Pittsburgh and we used to come up to Montreal play this game. It's very unique and only popular in Pittsburgh and Montreal. And if so, which lanes have you been to. Thanks again Rich
I haven’t
What is the new curing time for V2? That was the big issue wasn’t it? I might’ve missed this bit of info from another video..??
The curing time hasn't changed. It's still 2 hours of curing before exposing to water or rain. What changed in V2, according to Cerakote, is the chemistry, more specifically the curing mechanisms. In V1, there were issues in certain conditions where the coating wasn't curing properly.
And this time around, they also made sure to include more specific instructions, like making sure the coating cures at a minimum temperature of 65F for the two hours.
All the info is in my previous video here: ua-cam.com/video/att6sWQG-WE/v-deo.htmlsi=6L5gCherLjkMVpIB
Pan..how long did it take you to get an allocation for the Turbo S ? and what year is yours? Thanks ..love your podcasts!!
Almost three years on a waiting list. I took delivery in April 2021. I was the first one to get the new 992 Turbo S in Montreal.
But I get a new car every three years so I sold the Turbo S. I now have a new 2024 Cayenne S Coupe.

I wish you would have tested it on the windshield again to see how it'd fare under the wiper blades and hold up in general. Seems to be doing pretty well otherwise. I'm undecided on what to pick between the DIY 5 year (maybe 8 year) and this.
In my experience, paint coatings don’t last as long on glass due to wiper friction. Which is normal.
Hi Pan, a few years ago i watched your video about Avalon King DIY ceramic coating and now I’m preparing to my second car. Would you recommend Cerakote v2 or Avalon King? Appreciate your knowledge!
I would go for Cerakote.
