    Hillstream loaches! I've had them in a community tank with Harlequin rasboras and sparkling gouramis for a couple years now. Cool little fish and they are good at cleaning up algae off the glass and rocks.

      @@dalfonzowilliams4792 I totally agree, they can be a bit tricky with their own species (they often fight) and sometimes they can be bullies to other bottom feeders but overall they are a really unique and cool fish. Probably would give them a high B tier

    Without even watching, calling it now. Pygmy Cory - easiest S tier of my life. They're adorable, they're a bit goofy, and they like to "gather." I have a group of them in my 20 gallon with some neons and embers. And while I can never tell how many are alive (black substrate and fairly heavy planting so they're hard to spot) taking a few minutes to just search the tank and see how many I can find is so calming to me. Not to mention I'll always find a group of them gathering on top of the sponge filter as if there is a meeting of utmost importance being held. AND HOLY SHIT THEY'RE SO CUTEEEE.
    Edit: After watching, we're not mortal enemies. How dare you give my precious babies anything but a perfect score q.q
    Also! FLAKES WORK FINE! All of my pygmies will take little bites of flakes and scrounge, but if you're worried just grind them between your fingers as you're feeding and you'll get plenty of small enough pieces for them, and if you're REALLY worried, do that as you stick your fingers (the ones grinding the flakes) in the water, it will soke those tiny pieces instantly and start them sinking.

    • @Fishman2114
      @Fishman2114  28 днів тому

      @@IWLGaming I’m glad we’re not mortal enemies 😂. I also have a group of them in a 20 gallon tank! So far they’re doing great, mine love to lounge on the leaves of the plants. In terms of food I feed them the micro pellets but I also will crush up flakes for them which do seem to work :). The main reason I put them in A is because they can have tank mates limitations because of their size and can still be harder to feed than other species. Still an amazing fish at the end of the day!

    Nice job! Good ranking and reasoning. I love Phoenix Rasboras, and you can usually find them for cheaper than the Chilis. And you can never go wrong with CPDs.
    Some cool additional ones I keep/have kept: Ember Tetras are cheap, colorful, and hardy. Green Kubotai Rasboras are a unique color and pretty active; and go great with ember tetras in a 20 long for a cool color contrast. Pseudomugil Luminatus are a stunning orangish-red with an an awesome blue shimmer when they swim under the light, and they're very entertaining to watch...one of my favorites. And Threadfin Rainbowfish are absolutely amazing...hardy as far as water parameters, but also a bit delicate and hard to feed if kept with rambunctious tank mates. But with their unique look and high fins on the males, they're a good small-tank alternative to angelfish.

    I have a dozen harlequin rasboras that I use along with rainbow praecox as dither fish in a 55-gallon with 5 female bettas. They are the most active of the fish in that tank outside of some crazy yoyo loaches. I use neons in the same role to separate 4 bettas in a 29-gallon with dwarf frogs, albino corys and a few shrimp that have slowly been growing to many. @Fishman2114 haha funny you mention that, my other 15 gal does have arlequins and a honey gourami already! I wanted to try something new, but I looove honeys! It was my first tank and still running well after 7 years.
      Btw I also agree from watching your vid, arlequins should have 20 gals, mine do live to 5+ years in the flex 15, they're clearly fine, but they're still cramped and I would do chili's in there if I could start over. Works but clearly not ideal for them. Arlequins do get big and beautiful and deserve more horizontal space.
      I'm really stoked to try sparkling + CPDs in the new 20! I realize it's probably best to to skip Peacock gudgeons although they are gorgeous. I was also looking at croaking gouramis which look similar, but sparklings seem to stay a bit smaller and look prettier. Gonna go for a hill stream loach also, which should've been in there, and badis badis too ;) glad I found your channel mate, really enjoyed the vid!

    Good choice for the video and great choices for the fish , but the only thing that I have to mention is tank sizes. You should never think a fish is better off from being in the largest aquarium that they can live in and especially when you are in a position to have someone take your advice . I'm pretty sure you mentioned it twice and after you threw the Pygmy Cory's in the conversation I had to stop and say keep your recommendations to be as big as possible for the only fish that deserves to be included in future "size restrictions" would be fish like Dumbo Bettas . Obviously if someone has a concern about reaching the water which is true with Bettas when they are getting older but certainly not pygmy corys , been enjoying them in my 75 and that's nothing but a nano second

      @@stoneysscapes7544 Regarding the Pygmy Cory you aren’t the first person to mention this and I’ll definitely be more careful next time when I bring it up, but I personally wouldn’t keep pygmies in tanks that are too high just because they are little and take big gulps of air. I’d worry they’re not going to be able to reach… that could just be me being overprotective or something 😅. If you have a shallower tank that’s more length there’s nothing wrong with that and it’s honestly encouraged by me. Really I just wanted people to be careful with larger filters from big tanks not sucking up fish (like I mentioned with the bumblebee goby) and this occurrence with Pygmy cories.
