I was lucky enough to get Procatapus by mistake, store sold them as Daisy’s Rice Fish. While Daisy’s are still on my list, I can’t say I’m disappointed with them, Procatapus are beautiful that blue iridescence really comes through in low light.
5:38 everything I've read says you cannot breed khuli loaches....but if you have pea gravel at the bottom and the some egg size river rocks covering that , with lots of flow in the water...I've found my khulis regularly breed. I originally bought 8 and now 5 years later there's about 23 in a 40 breeder.... the first time I saw a baby , I freaked out and almost emptied the tank....I thought it was a leech or something way down in the gravel..but then I figured it out.
I've 15 in a nanotank right now, for the first time. But after seeing them in action for a week I already started thinking about a huge school of these in a bigger tank. Seems much easier to get natural behaviour.
I can't even tell you how much I appreciate seeing a video on nano fish that doesn't cover the same 10 or so super-popular ones that have been featured over and over again. They're lovely fish, of course, but it's wonderful to discover species I had no idea existed! Those dwarf khuli loaches bring a whole new meaning to the nickname "zoom noodle!"
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the comment. When i was doing research for this video i was thinking the same thing. The same five fish in every single video.
Great bunch of fish , but I've wanted any species of Procatopus for years. Won't happen before I get back to the Coast, which unfortunately won't be this year. H. haraldschultzei are great tetras; kept them long ago. Would like to keep the Amapa tetras and Aspidoras as well.
Hoping someone can help me find the scientific name of a tetra! I'd only ever seen them sold as platinum tetra, they're plain silver about the size of a cardinal and just a typical tetra. But when I look for them now I keep getting platinum rummy nose, and that is not the fish I fell in love with. I'm worried without the scientific name I'll struggle to find them again
@@pungr There is this cool feature on the player called pause. If you click that it stops the video and you can write it down as slowly as it takes you. Just sayin`.

Thanks for sharing! Quite a few n there that i had never heard of before, so much appreciated:)
Can I see the…Hyphessobrycon epicharis?!
it possibly is Neolebias axelrodi among the Lepidarchus adonis there in the tank and that is a true nano species as well.
Awesome, can I put the last fish shown in aragonite substrate tank? As if African cichlids., it's a play sand made of aragonite.
Wow, learned a lot of new ones
How big is the aquarium? I was told only 4 in a 10 gallon tank.
Does anyone know if there are some kind of top dwelling south american nono fish other than the hatchet fish
Neon red rasboras…?
How recent is the stock from this video, been waiting for some of these but dont see them on the website 😂

You omitted Japanese Rice Fish; oryzias latipes (Medaka fish)...... a wonderful hardy little fish from East Asia Pacific regions....!
We recently dedicated and entire video to ricefish =) ua-cam.com/video/xjOAgZETyAg/v-deo.html
Nice
would have been really cool to list the names.
Did you watch the video? The names pop up for every species lol
um, yeah, and the scientific names for them aren't so easily remembered or quickly written down. Just sayin'.@@SteenfottAquatics
