  • When we first heard the RevivalDRIVE from Origin Effects we just knew we had to do a video on it! Simon from Origin popped down to Peach to walk us through everything this super versatile overdrive "amp in a box" is capable of.

Can you operate the mid boost without the pedal on from the auxiliary switch?

      Thanks Mark.
Jack used a Fender CS 52 Tele with a roasted maple neck for this one.

Simon (Origon Owner) is sooo ahead of his time. Absolute genious. Jack is a gret player. The guy with the shorts and glasses is still a poo head.

But he said we wanted you to explain, the didn't stop talking over the top. From the get go his 'Good Man' was curt and dismissive. Simon designed it, perhaps he should have asked him the question, then let Simon answer it. He was doing a Trump in a debate. Just pull back and do what you said you were going to do at the start. Less control freak.

I don't dislike any of the guys from peach, it's a fantastic shop and I love that it's independently owned.
But I do have to agree with you, after reading this comment its so apparent. Simon may as well not even be there. It would have been nice having him walk us through all the sounds with he's calm slow and detailed description of things.
      I'm seriously considering this pedal.

@@daviddorrian5349 I tried it on recommendation. It is an intuitive pedal once you get your thinking around it. I found the suggested manual presets weren't compatible with my amps, but may have worked for others. A friend in Hawaii bought it after I mentioned it. He LOVES it. He has a Bludotone amp (South Saturn Delta) the same as me. He says the Revival has stopped him wanting or needing a plexi styled amp as it covers all his needs in that regard. For him it's been excellent. I'm sadly not an intuitive tweaker of pedals as he is. Especially given the design features offered. I confess this many knobs, switches, bright cap, mid frequency, eq options did my head in. Especially as they were all so interactive. Changing one parameter could open a whole new universe and then I'd be tweaking again. In the end, I stuck with amp gain and run 2 heads independently and or together for gain/ overdrive and one amp clean in a wet/ dry set up. I think my friend wins in the lugging department by far. But for me, real amp get and eq I get...Que sera. Hope it works out well for you. I know the guy who asks the question is the owner. He also plays well and is far more experienced about gear and tone than me. I just think if you ask someone a question, let them answer. Especially when he designed the plane you want to fly. :-) The premise was so well set up with the Two Rock and Friedman. Simon plays a lick and the next comment is "I found....."followed by "which is how I like to use it."

when i was 19 i used to spend a couple thou on gear every year. guitars amps i still have the vintage marshall i bought in 1989 a 77 JMP master model for $240 from some tweakers girlfreind. i worked at a car wash and had a skateboard and a bike. i had two marshall halfstacks and a rack with a digital effects processor and a midi controller and some pedals in 1992 playing shows in san diego working minimum wage by the time i was 25. i would say a friedman and a good guitar and nice pedals its all obtainable if you know what your goals are and have your priorities in order. I was always a stoner doom loser but i knew what i wanted and how to get it. im in a band now at 55 with a 35yo singer and yep you guessed it, he doesn't even own a microphone. hes still playing the guitar his mommy gave him when he was 14 he brags about it. never changes his strings. im playing through a $15,000 rig. thats right fifteen thousand dollar rig and that's just one head one cab some pedals a small rack and three guitars. the les paul is worth more than most peoples car. its all just stuff i buy with my spendable cash every month. you can get payments at american musicals or zzounds. i just wonder why people act like money is some barrier to getting gear get your priorities straight and spend that cash. you won't be sorry and your band-mates will follow suit. yolo i shouldn't have to spell it out but i will. you only live once bro what do you have to lose.

@@shawnglass108 good point actually :-) in all honesty: I have owned, and still own two rock Amp’s. A silver sterling comes in at about 8.500€ approx 10.300 dollars. But you are right, people buy them. Period.

@@maconins123, but I do think it doesn’t give people a good idea of how a pedal sounds if you put it through a multi thousand dollar amp. You would expect it to sound great if the amp sounds incredible by itself.
