@daniellloret3769 There is so much Boston/Scholz urban legend BS out there. All of Brads vocals were recorded by producer John Boylan at Capital Studios Studio C. The high end mic pres, eq's, compressors and plate reverbs that Boylan used on Brads voice are part of the reason why Brads voice sounds so good on this record. The entire song Let Me Take You Home was recorded in its entirety by the band as pictured on the back of the record. Toms does not play bass on every song. The mixing was done by producer John Boylan, engineer Warren Dewey and Tom. According to Boylan it was quite the circus and tug of war mixing with Tom because he kept pushing the electrc guitars and cymbal so hard that Boylan and Dewey had to try to keep up and in the process the console was pushed into "manual compression"

Tom was forced to admit this as fact under oath in legal documents in the lawsuits between Tom and Barry. Barry also plays all of the lead guitar solos on Long Time as well as the huge power chords in Long Time. In addition, Barry also plays lead and slide guitars on Let Me Take You Home. Wow, what a great story and wonderful memory. I was 15 in ‘78 as well and this is my all-time favorite song from Boston and one of my favorite songs ever. Thanks for the comment.
The organ solo was done by Tom Scholz, the guitarist/ mastermind of Boston. Guy is freakishly talented And it’s great to see you all groove with that ending guitar solo. That section is so good it’s ridiculous LOL
Rock produced to perfection with melodies to trap you into positive vibes. It's produced with harmony perfectly. Insane how good this is. You said his voice is like butter. Nailed it.
I saw them March 7, 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a band called Starcastle. It was an amazing concert. Yes, I am one of your older listeners, and was 16 at this concert. The entire vibe was great. Great reaction!
Wow... just freakin' WOW! My favorite Boston tune, far and away. Something in the water in Boston. Boston, Aerosmith, The Cars... I'm enjoying your enthusiasm for the classic rock genre. I was 15 when this one dropped, and I'm 15 EVERY time I hear it.
I get chills every time I hear this tune. The outro overlapping/dueling guitars are so powerful yet melodic, and rocking at the same time. Now, listen to all the other songs from the debut album especially Peace of Mind, Smokin' and Rock N Roll Band. The title track from the second album, Don't Look Back, features the classic Boston sound.
Excellence will do that to you you know Tim but why don’t you give Theocracy a listen especially their 22 min masterpiece “ Mirror of Souls “! You can close your eyes and be in the song in this movie!
The story behind the makin of Bonston's first album is one of legend. Created by Tom Scholz and MIT graduate engineer, he built the studio in his rented basement and recorded all the tracks himself. He mastered the art of layering sounds that build to form a complete unique song. It helps that Brad Delp became the lead vocal who is of unmatched range. There is a reason this album is the best selling of all time for a rock band debut.

I've heard this song a million times. And watching you guys just now, I had a smile on my face the entire time. You took me back to a time where my friends and I heard this for the first time. My generation was so lucky. We knew how special our music was. Great reaction. You can't go wrong with Boston.
This was the first album (vinyl) that I bought with my own money as a kid (around '77) at a K-Mart, along with KISS Alive II. Played the crap out of them then. They still hold up today with great songs!!
And that (your reactions) is why this is my favorite Boston song. Not only in the title, but instrumentally it sounds like traveling to new (sunlit) places.
Make no mistake about it - and I've experienced it personally. There are young people coming up in the world, technically savvy, calm, focused, family oriented, God-fearing, ambitious, and absolutely ass kicking. It gives me hope.
I pray you guys did some research on Boston...this was basically done in One guys basement, he played all the instruments, well, 95%...but Brad Delp on vocals made it perfect! I was blessed to actualyl see their first tour in Jacksonville , Fl..., the things we take for granted....I will never forget
Tom Shultz, founding member, MIT grad, electrical engineer, recorded this album in his basement studio!!! I'm pretty sure he played most of these instruments for this album. He only started playing guitar when he was 21!! There is a documentary about him somewhere!!! Good listen!!
Tom Scholz plays all guitars , bass and keyboards on Hitch a ride. Brad Delp does ALL vocals. Written and produced by Tom Scholz in his basement studio. " Something about you" is amazing as is every song on the album.
The big reason why no one else sounds like this is because Tom Scholz was an engineer and designed and built all of his own effects pedals and recording devices to get the exact sound he was looking for so nothing else could get the same results.
@ClckwrkOrange Tom never was a big fan of effects pedals on the floor. Scholz R and D only brought 2 guitar effects pedals to market-one that made an electric guitar sound like an acoustic guitar and another one was a distortion generator. The Rockman is not nor was it ever intended to be a pedal or used as one. The Rockman is a guitar preamp with onboard effects and some limited audio processing on it. Anyone who describes the Rockman as a pedal has never used on or hooked one up. The Rockman did not exist until 1982 and not one note on this record was processed through a Rockman or a prototype of the Rockman. The guitar heart of the guitar sound on this record is Marshall SLP tube amp which Tom modified. Tom used a graphic eq for his guitar sound as well but that was something that he purchased. Tom used a large variable resistor taken from a theater lighting system to act as his volume/power attenuator. Tom had a doubler circuit that he used around this time but that was a product of bucket brigade circuits that he purchased an some engineering help from the one of the electrical engineers at Polaroid. What specific recording devices did tom build to use on this record?
Another iconic song from the Greatest hits ever from Boston. The vocals and instruments complement each other. Very little Bands Carry that iconic vibe throughout the bands existence. The 1970's and 1980's carry that Great sound and vibe, which a lot of bands lack. One of the Greatest Hits from one of the Greatest Bands in the World. RIP Brad and the rest who have past on from the Greatest Bands of all times. The vocals and songs one never gets tired of hearing. If one watches the videos of Boston, the Bass player seems to be jamming to his own tune. Rock On Boston 🤟🤘🤙👊✊
I was a senior in high school when that album came out, i was also in a band, they were completely innovative at that time. The first time you really heard the vocals manipulated, they were and still are AMAZING!
Back when hitchhiking was normal. When I was young I hitched all around the country and Canada about the time this record came out. Always Got a ride , never had a problem.
All vocals are by Brad Delp including backups. Tom Scholz recorded this album in the basement of his home on equipment he built to get the sounds he wanted. There was no “Boston” band till Tom got a recording contract.
OK my good young men as a long time middle-aged rocker, I still onto this day hear enjoy and believe that this is one of the original songs with one of the best 1st and 2nd lead guitar solo exchange in classic rock history! (besides B.T.O.) With only very few newer rock bands to respect and uphold that playing like the well seasoned Megadeth and a fresh new Nemophila. I am a rock prophet, I have spoken and it was good! 🤟

Wow, what a great story and wonderful memory. I was 15 in ‘78 as well and this is my all-time favorite song from Boston and one of my favorite songs ever. Thanks for the comment.
The organ solo was done by Tom Scholz, the guitarist/ mastermind of Boston. Guy is freakishly talented
And it’s great to see you all groove with that ending guitar solo. That section is so good it’s ridiculous LOL
Every song a classic. Legendary debut.
Rock produced to perfection with melodies to trap you into positive vibes. It's produced with harmony perfectly. Insane how good this is. You said his voice is like butter. Nailed it.
so much fun to watch you guys when I know the end and yall are just discovering! I LOVE YA'LL!
MASTERPIECE
The back end of this song is incredible. The organ solo and then back and forth between the two guitars is mind blowing.
Masterpiece comes to mind.
What a song
I saw them March 7, 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a band called Starcastle. It was an amazing concert. Yes, I am one of your older listeners, and was 16 at this concert. The entire vibe was great. Great reaction!
Well then they need to do Lady of The Lake by Starcastle. Starcastle were a glorious band, and their first two albums were dominant progressive rock.
saw the same show june 77 fresno california did they lazer light show in minn.
@@jeffreygreer it had been so long but Yes I believe they did.
Wow... just freakin' WOW! My favorite Boston tune, far and away. Something in the water in Boston. Boston, Aerosmith, The Cars... I'm enjoying your enthusiasm for the classic rock genre. I was 15 when this one dropped, and I'm 15 EVERY time I hear it.
yep me too😁
Love that dirty water...
We love Brad Delp. Amen
It just keeps giving
I'm brand new to your channel, and have been checking out the ones from approx a year ago. I have really been enjoying your music choices. And, your reactions reflect your music sophistication, in how you seem to recognize when you're hearing something special. Keep it up guys! (I'll be checking out your newer stuff as well). Looking forward to more.
Love the Kentucky shirt. Huge fan
That guitar solo that sounds like 2 guitars is done with only one. Just another piece of genius behind this album.
I've heard this song a million times. And watching you guys just now, I had a smile on my face the entire time. You took me back to a time where my friends and I heard this for the first time. My generation was so lucky. We knew how special our music was.
Great reaction. You can't go wrong with Boston.
love that whole album!!!!!
You all used the right adjectives to describe that solo. Thank you. Not many reaction-ers do. Simply amazing. Keep up the good work.
Masterpiece,talent you don't hear anymore
And never will again.😢
You have to hear Don't Look Back, my personal favorite.
I remember reading Brad Delp also sings all the backing vocals! " Don't look back"is fantastic!
One of the best guitar solos ever
i am 65 and still listen to this album..a masterpiece
It's a perfect album.
My favorite
i nearly cried watching young people appreciate this music there is hope for our world
Make no mistake about it - and I've experienced it personally. There are young people coming up in the world, technically savvy, calm, focused, family oriented, God-fearing, ambitious, and absolutely ass kicking. It gives me hope.
Top 10 albums of all time.
Best guitar(s) outro all time............. bar none
Boston is an incredible band! Listening to their music just makes me happy. I saw them in 2016 and they were STILL great!
Best album!
I pray you guys did some research on Boston...this was basically done in One guys basement, he played all the instruments, well, 95%...but Brad Delp on vocals made it perfect! I was blessed to actualyl see their first tour in Jacksonville , Fl..., the things we take for granted....I will never forget
So funny...I was a senior in high school when this album was released. It was Huge and we called it rock. Now it's classic rock.😂
YES!!!!
I love you guys. Hitting the most unique bands in rock EVER and doing one of my faves that no one knows and I have never seen reacted to. Bravo boys!
Amazing group……the album is solid gold.Always a great review by you guys.
Back when hitchhiking was normal. When I was young I hitched all around the country and Canada about the time this record came out. Always Got a ride , never had a problem.
Scholz and Geudreau double guitar solos in concert were simply magical.
The solo in this song is second to none.
Loved this reaction guys!!! Brilliant!
You make me smile.like when you're listening to the song crack me up
All vocals are by Brad Delp including backups.
One of the greatest guitar solos of all time! 🙃
I grew up in the 70's... we had the best! music!!... life was good period.
It was music history, never to be repeated.
Ditto!
Just part of the greatest childhood ever.
I love the moment in this song when people discover that the first guitar solo wasn't the real guitar solo.
came out when i was in high school and that's all anybody talked about.this was a massively popular album.
I was 21 the first time hearing Boston. Caught a ride home one night after work from a workmate, and he popped in this 8 track tape, and wow!
Awesome song, great reaction once again, thanks guys.
It's all Tom on organ, guitars, bass guitar, equalization, mixing layer upon layer. Brad sang 99% of it, over-dub upon over-dup. It is a miracle.
Don't Look Back, Feelin' Satisfied and Party are monster tracks from their 2nd album.
Boston third album, many good songs but " Man I'll Never Be", and " To Be a Man" maybe my fav of that. "Amanda" is great too.
Hey fellas, you mentioned during last month's livestream (when I won my t-shirt! woo!) that you would react to, "Tightrope", by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) in November. We're at the halfway point, so just a little reminder. You guys will love it! Cheers, and thanks for all you do!
ps~Boston's debut album and ELO's best album, A New World Record (which includes, "Tightrope") came out the same week at the end of the summer of '76. Imagine going to the record shop and buying those two iconic LPs on the same day during their first week on the shelves! lol 'Cuz that's what I, and so many other kids, did. Those two records bumped the 8-month old, Frampton Comes Alive, off the turntable, and split time dominating our stereos until Christmas when we all got the new Eagles record, Hotel California. Man, what a great time that was to be a kid!
ELO love that I passed onto my sons!
