I’m 52 and first case of shingles. Started as severe back pain just like kidney stones and two days later I had the rash on the left side of my back and blisters. Very very painful. Chills, headache, nausea. Doc prescribed antibiotics and topical ointment. So painful I can barely get out of bed

I just got diagnosed YESTERDAY I'm 35 and it's right by my nose kinda near my eye and swollen uner my eye. Sucks. But iam on antivirals for the week hopefully it clears soon.

I'm 62 and got shingles 2 weeks ago. Right shoulder blade pain is severe and relentless. I developed the rash from there around to my front mid chest. The rash isn't painful for me. I went to the doctor and he started me on tablets 2 days ago but no relief yet. However, I've had 2 kidney stones and they were far more painful for me. Different people have different experiences with these illnesses but I wouldn't recommend getting them.
@@raccuia1 the tablets ONLY stop the blisters from forming. Which trust me is helpful but the pain will stay with you the whole time. Nothing you can do
How early on did you catch it?
My dad almost went blind in both eyes from shingles, and I remember him crying from the pain when it got to be too much. He said the pain was worse than fracturing his lumbar spine.
I'm with you. Currently I'm 15 and I have shingles on my right arm. The stinging itchy pain is too intense, I can't sleep, and it's so bad I wish I had my right arm amputated.
They dont discuss treatment here, they just jaw about how bad it is.
In my late 30's & I got em & it really is terrible 😩! Go to the Dr right away if you suspect you have it! Within the 1st 72 hrs is best! I like to self treat vs going to the hospital but some things you just need medication to help so I'm about to pick up my anti virals & pain cream & I'm praying it helps!
Have it now at 38...from stress & low immune system. Horrible pain on the left side of my body, torso. Now on antiviral, plus lidocaine patches.

I thought I was dying, I just got it a few days ago, dr confirmed yesterday because the night before I was having the same symptoms, back pain so bad and couldn’t breath because of an intense twisting and tightness in my stomach along with the back pain. Worst pain I’ve ever felt!

I was diagnosed with Shingles today .. my whole left eyebrow,eye and scalp was itchy n felt like it was burning n the sun wasn’t helping but when I placed my cold hand on it it felt better .. then I had a small rash .. im praying to God I don’t get blind in any eye 😳🙁😢😢😢
How are you doing
I got Shingles for the first time when I was 26. I've had it every year since, sometimes twice a yr.
It got to the point of barely being a problem and I'd carry on as normal. This time, not so much! I felt fine when I first noticed the rash, but by the second evening I felt like crap! The lymph nodes on my neck and under one armpit are all swollen and tender so moving my neck around hurts.. The rash looks worse than normal, it had gotten to be just bumps, now this is an angry looking thing, red spots, filled with yuck, and all red around it.. I don't know what's happened this time but it's worse than its been in years.
I don't take medicine as it usually upsets my stomach and flares my IBS.. So I just wait it out.
Wondering what this is going to be like going forward, I expect it to go away because it was seemingly less fierce with each time.. but that's clearly not the case after this round. I can't imagine having this in my 60s or 70s.
Maybe I'm just getting older and less able to cope with it.. But I'm not that old. Maybe I have a weak immune system.. Whatever the reason it can't be good.

My son was just diagnosed with shingles today and he is 45. What's weird is he has been having severe shock like pain from his lower back in the last 3 weeks and we think it's Arachnoiditis which involves the nerves around the spinal cord or something like that. I wonder if it's related. His shingles started on his neck and spread.
He also has cellulitis inside the back of the neck also.
This is the third time he has had cellulitis in that area.
Hope the medication they put him on won't harm him.
We are not fans of medications, but I guess he has no choice. We are into holistic approach but this time I'm

The American Family Care's statement of , " The only way you can get shingles is if you’ve had chickenpox first" is simply not true because I never had chickenpox but I had developed shingles as an adult without getting in contact with any shingles patient.
The fact is that even if you have never had chickenpox, you may still have shingles because most people were vaccinated against chickenpox when we were young and *all chickenpox vaccine contains live but weakened varicella-zoster virus that can still cause shingles to an adult whose immune system is in a weaken state.* I want to point out that unlike the chickenpox vaccines that contain live but weakened varicella-zoster virus which may cause shingles in an adult person with a weakened immune system, the shingles vaccine Shingrix contains only a small part of the varicella zoster virus that causes shingles and it does not contain any live varicella zoster virus as the chickenpox vaccines do.
I got my first shingles at 18 it was straight down from my chess and heart it was painful.. especially around the heart area.

I ended up going to the doctor on campus and they subscribed medication. It was this huge pill I had to take for about two weeks. I also used some type of ointment to help with the itchiness.
@@gracesherman2499 have you not gone to the doctor? like he said, they prescribe you valaciclovir which is a huge pill. And calamine applied onto the shingles. I was also given Pfizer to avoid ongoing nerve pain after the shingles. I've got it now, day 4 of starting my medication. please go to doctor if you haven't! It's painful.

Wow, I have shingles and it is on my left side, and let me tell you it feels like someone is stabbing you 24/7 even my clothing touching it hurt, when I got home I took off all my clothing that might touch it. Now I say that to say, thank you because although I went to the immediate care in my town the when I told the doctor that though I do not have anything on the left front side of my stomach, it feels the same as my left side of my back, as if something is stabbing me. Now I know the two are connected. For a while I thought I had two things going on at once. Shingles hurt so bad you can barely walk around especially if I have on clothing, with out it hurting, I can’t imagine how that man feels with it on his face.

I have them right now.. Guess I'm lucky bc im young and mine hardly hurt. I get migraines and the pain is WAY WORSE. It shouldn't be "surprising" to a doctor. I can't stand that plastic surgeon... They just don't talk about it. Alot of younger people are getting them.

3 days of non-stop pains, can’t even sleep at night. First time I went to the doctor, they could not find anything wrong with me. Because the rash has not developed, two days later I went back, Pains got worse and rash develops. They finally found the problem, is shingles. The worst thing is the pain is non-stop.

An ice pack works really well for the pain. Stock up on tons of ice. Tylenol works good too. I've had chicken pox when I was around 7, and shingles twice now... once in my teens and now at 53. What a pain in the ahole. I went to the doctor and they thought it was a kidney stone or diverticulitis; then two days later I noticed the two streaks of rashes on my side. the pain moves around from the front and back on my left side. I have been eating a lot of junk food with the onset of winter... I think that was the culprit, along with getting older. Also, I took a long ride on a public bus and a lot of scabby people ride in there, so that could be a factor as well. Such is life.

Currently 22 years old and have my first shingles and never in my life had chicken pox, 3 days into this nightmare and it’s currently 7am cause I can’t sleep with this obnoxious pain
I’m 53 and got it in my trigeminal nerve affecting my scalp, face and eye. My rash and eye looked exactly like that gentleman. I went on an antiviral and antibiotic within a day of the rash appearing. It’s been 4 weeks now and the rash is clearing up in my face but my scalp is extremely itchy. I’m trying not to scratch but it’s so hard!! It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced. Besides kidney stones and my trigeminal neuralgia.

@@arefashionista the whole episode lasted 6 weeks. The itching in my scalp was driving me crazy. I used a lot of ice packs on the itchy areas, cool cloths, calamine lotion, aloe Vera gel (from my plant), and an anti itch and pain cream that had a cooling menthol in it.
@@arefashionista but going on the antibiotic and antiviral meds very early saved me. Because I had the shingles in my eye I went to an ophthalmologist who prescribed all the drugs for me quickly.

I need help !
