I bet a google search for foods rich in L-asparaginase will pull up a list of such foods. If I eat a lot of chocolate or peanuts I will automatically just take 1000 mg of lysine to prevent any outbreak. Years ago Abbreva and Lycall both had lysine in them and people would pay a large amount of money for tiny tubes of either one because they were so effective topically. In capsule form lysine actually works even better than ointments and creams. Lycall is not on the market as far as I know as they stopped the manufacture of it, and Abbreva simply changed to a numbing agent and removed the lysine from it's ingredients. I suspect there is not much money to made by big pharmaceutical companies for their expensive antivirals when lysine is a cheap easy to find over the counter home remedy.
