G400 is goated. Still play the LST after 6 years. Have had stealth, rogue st TD, and have hit all the new drivers from this last year. Nothing beats it.
Just got a G400 max, mint condition. Gonna hit it this week. 400 max and 430 max are essentially the same MOI. I also bought a G driver in mint condition, excellent driver. G Drivers with stiff shaft are hard to find in excellent condition.
G400 is the unicorn. There have been 4 new generations of drivers and the G400 still retails over $300 US. Ping shot themselves in the foot with that one.
The G400 Max was amazing. I actually sold it to a guy who regretted selling his. Then ended up buying it back from him. We both learned they aren't quite the same after being dumped. So I bought a totally different G400 Max. They are one of the best driver ever made. The G410 and G425 were both a step backward. The G410 wasn't nearly as good. The G425 was better than the G410 - but sounded terrible. The G430 was the first driver that was a 'must hit'. The 10k reminded me of the magic I felt with the original G400 Max.
Older guy with SS around 90, got the G400 at 11 degrees, only carry 225-233, but rarely miss a fairway. 2.9 index. Will probably keep this driver forever (had the G25 for over 10 years and it was also a great driver).
Stickler moment: You can't crank a g400 Max from 10.5 to 9. It's the last generation ping adapter. You can only take a degree off with the big minus, and it stays more upright than a g430 would when you do that. G410 and on had a new adapter with similar looking, but totally different settings. At least Drew knew even if Montgomery didn't.
I was able to demo the G430 and liked the feel and distance (roughly 260 yards) but still prefer the PXG Gen5 driver which at best I hit 5 yards farther. At 68 years of age I doubt my distance will ever increase regardless of driver make and model.
❤ please do one with past 3-4 generations like u did long ago for callaway low spin drivers. Think it was epic flash mavrik epic & rogue Also set 4iron vs utility 4 iron. E.g. t200/t350 4i vs u505 4iron, t200 util build 4i Good stuff guys!
G400 is king! I play a king cobra Ltd with the stupid space port and nothing can take it down. These old drivers still got it and you can still get them cheap on second swing. Wooo
I had the 400 until my son gave me the 425 for Christmas a few years back. Of course my gift was with the exchange of my 400. Although the 425 is great I miss the 400.
IIRC, the G400 only had 1 degree of loft adjustment in either direction (that is the case with mine). So I would think a 10.5 degree G400 could only be cranked down to 9.5.
If they had a way to get down to 6 degrees like a Taylormade, I'd still be in my G400 Max. It just delivers more loft than my 8 degree SIM. As forgiving as the G400 Max is, the extra ball speed and lower spin I get from the lower lofted SIM means the poorly struck ones go as far as the good ones from the G400 Max.
Really wish we could've seen the dynamic loft and angle of attack on these to get a better understanding of how the G430 10k is delivering a more penetrating ball flight.
I have both, and I prefer hitting my G400 Max more actually. The 430 actually turned out to be not the performer I expected it to be, distance wise it is performing worse than my G400 and Taylormade M5, and when I slice it once in a while it will still fly away. Putting a Tour AD shaft in it soon, see how it goes.
Good feedback. Surprising to hear of the performance of the M5 since it is a much different type of driver. Let us know how the new shaft performs with it
@@nutterbunch8419actually, no, as I’ve since moved onto a Titleist TSR3. My opinion: 10K isn’t too different than many other heads. Key is spin+launch numbers.
Yeah... I wish Ping had drivers that could go down to 6 degrees like Taylormade. I want that Ping forgiveness, but need lower dynamic loft that I can only get outside of Ping without having to change my swing.
G400Max - 9* (set -1*) w ping tour-R my last 6yr gamer and my scottsdale 2nd swing fitting couldnt beat it, was hoping for new driver but she's still my gamer! (some how i spin my 400max less than 430-10k, weird i know) 1.5 smash!
For these outside tests could you please lower the camera so we can see the actual shots with using a shot tracer. Don't know about anyone else but find it frustrating not seeing the actual shot. Other than that great content again.
Understood, our trackman was out of commission for a bit and that allows us to show a shot tracer on the software. Unfortunately this launch monitor does not. However, we've got the Trackman back so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!
BAHAHAHA 😂 I tested the 10k Max this weekend and my 400max beat it out, and an AI smoke max. I thought it was me but it’s clear I’m not alone. Legend club!
I have a question. I currently play the Ping G400 Max. Should I upgrade to the G430 max 10k? I have never been a good striker of a driver but the G400 max has been the best driver i have ever hit. I'm just wondering if the G430 max 10k is actually worth the $600 to upgrade 🤔
Great question and thanks for watching. If the G400 Max is working great for you and you don't want to spend for the upgrade, then you probably don't need to! However, it wouldn't hurt to at least try the 10K. Swing it, see how it feels, and maybe you'll be interested!
I would look into the 430 Max, they just dropped the price so it's $399 brand new. It's a really great driver and in my opinion very similar to the 10K for $200 cheaper.
@@garystevens3184 it’s very good. I loved my old driver, but my girlfriend and her daughter both bought the g430 in a men’s regular shaft. Her daughter is a softball coach and former star player. She can hit her 430 10k 240-250 consistently. After watching a couple of videos suggesting that the 400 max was basically the same I decided to save a few hundred and try it out. Honestly, after hitting them both side by side…there is no difference in the two drivers for me. Additionally, I play at my home course at least 5 times a week and can confirm I’m hitting shots that I never hit with my old Callaway. It’s at least 25 yards longer and definitely more forgiving…no joke.
G400 max is Ping all time, is in my bag since 2018 and will be here for long time I am 59 years old this club is my retirement with me

I can confirm I have similar feelings with my G430 Max 10K...I have more confidence to "go after it" knowing my misses are much smaller.
Both are great drivers, but I still think the G410 is hugely underappreciated. Love that driver ❤
Also a fantastic driver in its own right

Had TM’s all my life this year bought the 10k and it is freaking incredible. Long and forgiving. Unicorn
Have both the 430 LST and 430 10K. The LST is staying in the bag. 10K is not more forgivning and 5-10 yards shorter - at least for me.

I’ve got the g400 max and the g400 lst. Sweetness. I picked up a g425 max as well for the range bag. But gamers are the g400s.
Those G400 clubs are seriously good even 7 years later

How about rather then spending 800 on a the 10K, just keep your shoulders more level at impact to keep the flight down?

Soooo G400 still the GOAT? I'd say yup. Half the price of the G430Max10K and equal or better in performance. G400 FTW.
My Ping 10K is a low spin beast. So low that I may need to get back in the gym or try a shaft with more spin.
LOL. If it is getting to be a bit too low, maybe try to increase the loft with the adjustable hosel? Could help your trajectory
